Our stay at Hawes site was beautiful even thou it rain a lot. (Many places flooded)
The site was level, the toilet block was very clean and the showers were excellent.
The village was a short walk and I have bad knees. The local village has many shops pubs eateries etc. There are many sites to see and lots to do some at a cost but not too expensive.
Fuel in the village was at a good price.
On the down side. The signage to the site could do with making better.(The sat nav doesn't seem to work too good.)
If you want to watch TV take an 25m extension lead with you to plug into the power point.
There is free wifi in the village but on site you will have to pay.
Hawes
Very clean and tidy site, the toilets etc where very clean, perfectly located for exploring around the area with lots to see and do.
The warden was a bit to keen, my friend was parked literally just a few inches of the marker post and the warden had a moan at him, then had a moan at me for plugging into the wrong electric box, but this didn't spoil our stay.
Great Location & Lovely Site
We stayed for four nights and once we were set up did not use the car for all of our stay. Everything is within walking distance, great pubs, cafes and things to do. On arrival we were met in an efficient manner but the wardens were not as chatty as usual, and we did go back a couple of times to buy items from the shop. This made no odds to us, as the site and it's facilities were very well presented and clean.
We would definitely stay there again if visiting the area.
Fantastic.... Except....
Fantastic area, didnt go near the car for our stay. Loads to do, site well laid out, pitches a good size and will be returning. Only complaints were the toilet block doors slamming from very early morning till late night (people are asked to be considerate but most are not, perhaps a soft close device could be used). Also cutting the grass with a motor mower at 8.50 was a bit harsh. Might add that the staff are great.
permanetly locked facilities is a pain
The site is a nice site, i read some reviews and they commented on the less than friendly reception, i wouldn't say it was unfriendly i think sometimes the staff are just a little brusk, it may be that they were busy.
The site is ok, bit of a pain having to reverse in to the pitch as most of the sites i've been to have given you the alternative which way you faced. The Dog walking area is good and has clear paths marked which was handy.
The main issue i had was that the toilets, showers, washrooms etc were all permanently lock and that is a problem when you are disabled, the doors are stiff and trying to juggle chair or stick will opening the door is not easy. The disabled facility is radar key and i'd forgotten mine which didn't help.
Its not my favoriate site, i would go back but the locking of everything is a problem and i would have to think hard about going alone again.
Super site
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this site. Friendly welcome and accommodating as we got our dates wrong and arrived a day early. The site was well maintained with super clean shower facilities and a great dog field where your fur baby can run free. We were aware of farm vehicle movements but it was in no way disturbing or noisy (as mentioned in a previous review), it was nice to hear the noises of the country! Nice short walk to the lovely quaint Yorkshire village which caters for all your needs with a pharmacy, butchers/bakers with lovely pork pies and curd tart, amazing chippie, best fresh produce i’ve ever seen in a Spar shop, galleries, craft shops and a Tuesday market (where I spent far too much money). The Pennine Way walks were amazing with some fantastic waterfalls within walking distance. All in all a great site which we will definitely be returning to in the not too distant future I hope. Our pooch enjoyed paddling in the river too. It had everything...Thanks for a wonderful weeks holiday.

Lovely site however not the warmest of welcomes.
Having recently returned from a four day stay at the Hawes Club site we wanted to take the opportunity to share our review.
The site is in an ideal location within walking distance of Hawes which has many interesting shops, plenty places to eat. The surrounding area has lots to offer walkers, cyclists and anyone just wanting to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The site is well presented and the facilities were very clean despite the inclement weather. The pitches are well spaced and again very tidy. You certainly need steel pegs if putting up an awning but that is highlighted on the site information on line and in the handbook.
We arrived at the site 25 minutes before the official arrival time and parked in the long driveway to the site in front of a temporary sign advising new arrivals where to wait. The office was closed and had a sign advising that it was closed due to toilet cleaning and that it would reopen at 11:45. We took the opportunity to walk around the site to look at the available pitches.
As we walked back to the office we were approached by one of the wardens who asked us in a very abrupt manner could he help us. We answered that we were new arrivals and were waiting for the office to open. He then went on to ask did we know the earliest arrival time ,somewhat stunned we replied yes we did but it was not always easy to time arrivals. We were then advised “that’s what sat navs are for” and “that if 68 caravaners all took it upon themselves to arrive half an early the whole of the town would congested and the police would be involved.” Whilst we did not argue at the time surely in the unlikely event that 68 units arrived at 12:00 the ensuing chaos would be the same! As our faces became somewhat set he did assure us that he told everyone who arrived early the same thing.
We are fairly sure that we did not cause any inconvenience to anyone but if early arrival is such a problem then surely there needs to be a note in the site information to that effect. Certainly the way the information is delivered needs to be reviewed as it made for less than a warm welcome to Yorkshire. Later in our stay we had a minor medical emergency but did not feel comfortable seeking any help or advice from the wardens.
We would not like to put off anyone off staying at this otherwise lovely site....just don’t arrive early.
Just returned home from Hawes (again)
Another lovely stay in beautiful Hawes. Walks and scenery are stunning, pitched near to the farm this time, at the bottom of the site, will pitch further away when we visit nest time. It was rather noisy and we had the lovely 'countryside' smell too. Yes, I know it's a farm, before anyone comments, but it's worth knowing, if you haven't visited before.
Only problem were the dirty dog owners who do not pick up after their dogs! Lovely dog walk, huge field with mown paths and members leave their dogs mess on the mown footpaths. Come on you owners, you give all dog owners a bad name!
Warden clearly does not understand pitching rules
The wardens on this site clearly need to be educated by the club with regard to pitching.
They seem to be under the misapprehension that all motorhomes with the habitation door to the offside should be parked on a pitch with the front near side to the marker peg, even though the
site plan clearly states that you can park, either with the front near side or the rear offside to the peg.
He even made a couple on a pitch opposite move his chairs from a grass area between his van & his friends van on the next pitch.
Did not enjoy our visit.
A disappointing stay
We have been staying on this site for many years and have always enjoyed our stay. The fishing is great in the nearby river and Hawes itself is a lovely place to visit. The site is clean apart from people who do not pick up their dog mess (of which there was quite a lot on this visit). We saw people reserving pitches often by placing their caravan equipment on the pitches etc and one woman even ran round with her dog bed and dog and stood on the pitch for 20 minutes even though there was a queue for people checking in! Children riding their bikes through the "Pawnine Way" refused to close the gates so if you did let your dog off the lead in the field, there was a risk of them running out. Unfortunately, on the first and last night we encountered noise from other members. Not just noise, but one family where phyically fighting, play football and screaming and shouting untill gone 11pm. The wardens were helpful, but I felt we shouldn't have to keep complaining to them. This is the first time in 20 years we have had to complain. The site has really changed this year. We hope our next visit will be better and the site back to what it was in previous years.
