Very friendly welcome and site team very helpful when we needed help with gas bottle. Site in great position for Hawes, short walk into town with interesting shops and a number of pubs serving food. Dog friendly pubs for food which is important to us. The dog run area is fantastic, lovely big but interesting space for dogs to explore but secure so you can let them run free. Facilities immaculate. More than happy to recommend this site.
Excellent
Loved this site wardens really friendly. Facilities excellent lovely and warm. Location is brilliant if you wanted to go for a walk which there are some lovely walks. Its about 10 min walk into Hawes which is so nice lots of pubs nice little shops. Definitely will be coming back again.
Great site
Ideal location to visit Hawes village and the beautiful Wensleydale scenery. Site is very clean and tidy, excellent showers and toilets, wardens very welcoming and friendly.
Nearly but not quite there
This site is in a fantastic location with really good pitches, an excellent dog walk area and the toilet block was usually spotless.
However, they haven't got things quite right and it could be so much better. It needs more than one motorhome service point as the queue was often very long. When both the mens and ladies are closed for cleaning, for some reason with an overlap of time, having only one toilet available is insufficient.
The area where the site is really lacking though is in proper facilities for washing off either your guaranteed very muddy dogs or bikes. For a site of this size in such a location which is fantastic for outdoor activities and for dogs, this is a facility that should be available. No facilities mean washing dogs etc off at the motorhome service or water points - not really the done thing.
Top Site
I had the pleasure of spending a couple of weeks her in October/November. Well maintained and well run with some of the best Wardens. Super for walking and enjoying the local attractions. i will be back in the summer. This is one of my top 5 club sites. the amenities blocks are always clean and wwelkl presented.
Ideal location
Although our weekend visit a few days ago was somewhat on the 'damp' side our 3 night stay was a delight. The site is in a great location both for walking and a leisurely stroll into Hawes. Wardens as usual, very welcoming and facilities very clean, warm and plenty of hot water! Even a drying room although the weather wasn't bad enough for us to take advantage. Several hostelries to temp you with cask ales, good food and open fires! We enjoyed a very nice meal at the Crown and also at Cocketts. The museum at the old railway station is well worth a visit, allow enough time - plenty of reading and plenty to see.
First night
We picked our first Motorhome up on the 9th November and chose to stay at the Hawes site on the way home. What a good choice it was too. Excellent facilities, spotless showers and toilets and really welcoming and friendly wardens. Hawes itself is a lovely village with a wide range of shops and some good pubs. The creamery is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend the site and will be returning for sure.
A short break
We had a lovely week in Hawes. The site is very well positioned, close to the village and sheltered with plenty of walking routes up into the hills or along the river. The facilities on-site are up to the usual high standard and the refurbished toilet and shower block is fantastic. We were lucky with the weather which was a bonus but there is still plenty to do in the area if it isn't very nice. There are plenty of shops and places to eat in Hawes and the Wensleydale dairy and museum are worth a visit. All-in-all we had a great time, as we always do when visiting this fabulous site.

Somethings never change
After not visiting for 3 years it was no surprise that Hawes was still a fantastic site and place to visit, we arrived on Sunday the 27th in glorious sunshine a wee bit chilly but to be expected. Was greeted by the wardens as their was a que at reception once settled off for a pint or 2 at the White Heart to late for a meal but hey after a couple of beers straight to the Chippy, since we were last their ownership has changed but the Fish and Chips hasn't still brilliant so much so we eat their twice second time on our way back from Leyburn on the little white bus, a must to try it takes you on cracking route taking in Askrigg the setting for all creatures great and small. We spent 4 nights their leaving on Thursday morning, we took in the rope factory and museum, the cheese factory, and of course Leyburn, since the last time we were their the toilet block has been refurbished, all in all a cracking site to visit, great walking and places to visit, a must for anyone whose looking for some new place to visit
Perfect location
Spent a couple of nights here before moving on to Coniston. The site is well kept and perfectly placed to walk into Hawes and also within easy walking to Hardraw Force. Very welcoming staff and excellent facilities. Some standing water but the weather was very wet. We will come back here.
