Nice but felt crowded

Just returned from a weekend here. The site is smaller than others and it did feel like you were close to other units. However the facilities were clean and there was plenty of showers for the size of the site. The swimming pool was a bonus and we made good use of it, even in the rain.

Lovely stay

We stayed for four nights and had a lovely time.  My children enjoyed the pool twice a day and enjoyed the cycle to Grafham Water to enjoy the lovely ice cream at the visitor centre.  The local community shop is expensive but good for essentials and papers.  The local village also has a play area suitable for older children.  The site itself is very close to Grafham Water and cycle routes.  We had a grass pitch adjacent to the pool and it never bothered us and was lovely and peaceful in the evenings. On departure we had problem with our awning and the warden assisted us. Very helpful.  The facilities were clean, showers hot and with only two wardensthe bins were emptied regularly.  We may well return, we felt very relaxed.

Uncontrolled site

Where do I start.access to site very narrow hence the rule for arrivals and departures which is ignored  by most people coming to site. One way system on site is ignored by most visitors, cars, children on cycles ,scooters etc going any way they whish.Children ridding power scooter around site even they are not allowed.Play ground closes at 9pm but gangs of mixed aged children hanging around toilet block and in play ground after ten o'clock. Chemical disposal point next to waste/drinking point overflows twice during our stay . several  toilets left dirty or not flushed, very young children unaccompanied in toilet block.Old platster with blood on in found in one shower cubicle.Hair drier in toilet block broken over three days, hose had been pulled of.Most allarming site of all was an open fire in front of one outfit over several nights definitely a no no.This site seems to be in need of more supervision The one saving grace is the close by city of Cambridge We will not be staying at this site again nor would we recommend it to our friends.

Brilliant lady Warden

Just come home from a lovely weekend stay at Grafham. Firstly I must comment on the best warden I have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble. Caravan club take note as she deserves a pay rise! This is a great site for walking & cycling with the Grafham water walk passing the site. On a Friday the fish & chip van comes at tea time, so handy if you have just pitched up. Great site for all. Will visit again for sure.

Excellent Site

We have just returned from a long weekend away at this fantastic site. It is fantastic for visitors who enjoy riding bikes due to its excellent location near Grafham Water. The site is well maintained and has a lovely swimming pool, perfect for a warm summer's day. The crowning glory of this site however, are the wardens! From the minute we checked in, we were warmly welcomed and throughout the whole weekend, every interaction was pleasant - although clearly busy, nothing was too much hassle. It really made our weekend.  This is a lovely site and we will make this a regular visit. Thank you.

Not long enough..

Had a 3 day break just my daughter and l the site is nicely kept and the staff very helpful and friendly.. Great location if your interest is water bound as it is for cycle rides.. Graftham Water right on its door step and the benefit of a small but very nice swimming pool on site. Also had the benefit of a serviced pitch which makes life during your stay all that more enjoyable..

Short Break

We love this site and as it is only 1 hour from where we live it is ideal for a short break. The site is well kept and great for families.  The shower cubicle are a very good size which is alway a bonus. It has a swimming pool to that both adults and children can enjoy.  We cycled around the lake which again was really nice but next time we may walk around it to take in more of the scenery.  Half way round there is a pub called The Wheatsheaf which is well worth a visit.  On the day we were leaving I had an accident in our motorhome and broke my toe.  This was about 10am and we had to leave the site by 12 noon.  My husband when to see the wardens (John and Sharon Hope),  and they were amazing, telling us not to worry about moving off the site and gave doctors and hospital directions.  After waits at hospital etc we didn't get back to the site until about 3.30pm and the wardens were again fantastic, said we could stay another night and gave me ice packs and were happy to help in anyway they could.  The next morning they both checked to see if I was ok, offered more help and asked if we  needed to stay another night (which we didn't).  We will definitely be returning to this site soon.  Thank you again John and Sharon

Nice quiet clean site

The grassy part of this site is lovely, but the row with the serviced pitches and hardstanding was much too like camping in a carpark for our tastes. Great pool, but what a shame they have to restrict opening times ... why can't they not have a lifeguard and leave you to look after yourselves (as they do abroad). Cycling paths from the door, and spotless facilities mean we would return though.

Early August Short break

Great little site for families. The swimming pool and play ground were great and the free lead natural trail and activities in the woods were a bonus. Very pleased with our stay. Will definitely be back.
