Muddy wallow

I concur with MikeandAnnestravels. It is an excellent location but the facilitities do need updating. I use this site almost every year and have seen the pitches at the end of the season gradually get worse and worse. This year they were in the worst state I had ever seen and the Club really does need to take action on the miss use of groundsheets, either that or provide hardstandings or if planning consent is not possible, convert some area of the site to non awning to allow those not requiring awnings more chance of avoiding muddy patches.

Best Site for Touring W Cornwall

This is probably the best club site for touring around west Cornwall. It is easy to get to and pitches are near enough level. The facilities are reasonable, but getting a little tired in the toilets/shower blocks - which are also a little small if the site is full. I was, however, disappointed at some of the pitches which had a large patch of mud where previous occupants had placed their awnings. If these people had bothered to lift their groundsheets then this would not have happened! Moan over!

Excellent site, you couldn't ask for more.

The lady warden was excellent, went out of her way to help when i made a wrong decision not to stay for 2 nights, thankyou so much for finding a pitch for our second night. So, easy access, great location, cross the road and brilliant dunes for dogs and sandy dog friendly beach, you can walk for miles with cafe at the national trust car park to the right. Facilities looked ok to me, same as any other site so not sure where they need updating, wi fi and 4G good, hard standing pitch's would be nice, bus stop on site to St'ives but long gap before return so plan you day trip with this in mind. For us a 5 star site, would def return.

Great site and stunning area

Just returned from a weeks holiday and really pleased with the site. Lucky for us the weather was kind. Wardens were very pleasant and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Good pitch right near to the entrance at the back which led down to a stunning 3 mile beach which was dog friendly and very convenient. This was accessible over the downs which was fun for the dogs. Views are amazing and if you like surfing this is the place to go. On the down side, shower blocks possibly need updating but were still good, however were let down by certain people who insist on using talcum powder and leaving this down, not cleaning after themselves. This must be a burden to the wardens. Just to finish a big thanks to the site.

Another great year at this site

This must be our 6th or 7th year at this site which I think speaks volumes. Seen the wardens come and go and the wardens they have now are spot on. Very clean tidy site and I will say again the toilet block is looking dated and in need of an upgrade but think CC know this already. Site shop well stocked with essentials and seems to be open later than they have in the past which is great if your coming off the beach after a full day. Every year we say we will have a change but then come back to Godrevy saying you cant fault it for location etc. Perfect for beach especially as we have a dog, never full even in the middle of Summer. Steps which has had the landslide are ok still if your nimble and want to chance it instead of walking all the way to the slope near sunset café. Sunset has changed owners since our last visit food seemed ok what we had but think they are out pricing themselves a bit. We trekked down to Blue Bay cafe which is a container in the sand dunes and it was lovely with outdoor seating and also a must is cove café looking over the estuary really friendly owner, both these places reasonable priced as well. Shame to see Co-Op has closed in Hayle and a Home Bargains is opening up in its place. Handy to get to lots of places and as the main roads to Penzance were always busy we did an alternative route and passed through some lovely villages ( roads a bit narrow but made it more fun). This year we visited Porthgarra which is stunning and Lamorna cove for a change, running out of places to visit we've been going down there that long.

Great place to be

First time at Godrevy but will not be the last. Fantastic location and easy access to the beach. Plenty of room on pitches Friendly wardens and very helpful. Showers do need updating but were kept clean. The site is kept beautiful, a very enjoyable holiday can not wait to return The Gribbons

Located virtually on the beach

The advertised location, being on the beach is why we booked here. We weren't let down as it is literally across the road through the dunes. The large expansive dog friendly Godrevy beach merges with the no dog Gwithian beach to the right. Beautiful golden sand & shallow, clear sea water made it great fun. St Ives is a short bus/drive away & we incorporated a visit their on the way back from Lands End. The Red River pub is a 15/20 minute walk away via the field footpath but there is a couple of 100mtrs where you will be on the B road (no path), safe enough in daylight & with care. The site itself is segregated in to hedged areas, the facilities are dated but perfectly serviceable. It's the only site I've queued to shower at but it was August bank holiday so no complaints, plus I elected to go at peak time. The wardens are typically helpful & it's a site we would return to.

Beach heaven

We love this area of Cornwall so finding this site was a real bonus! We spent 2 weeks here and although the weather was pretty mixed, still managed to spend a good amount of time on Gwithian & Godrevy beaches which are excellent for bodyboarding & surfing. Godrevy car park is free for National Trust members and the food and drinks at the cafe are fantastic. We hope to return to this site very soon.

Lovely site

This is the third year we have stayed on this site and love it. The Wardens are friendly and helpful and always made us feel welcome. The site is close to lots of Cornish delights and trips to the area nothing is too far away. Can walk to the beaches/dunes through the site gate which is secured with a coded lock. We were meant to leave during recent bad weather - very wet and windy for 3 days and nights, we were able to stay put until the winds declined and it was safer to move, thank you wardens. See you next year.
