Amazing Sandunes and Beaches

Just returned from a week at this lovely site. It is very well laid out with spacious grass pitches. The wardens are all very friendly and helpful. The site is located across the road from the sandunes which are fab for walking the dog (just watch for the cliff edge!!). Continue past these to the beautiful Gwithian Towans beach which is great for surfing/bodyboarding. This beach then links to several others on a stretch of maybe 2-3 miles of glorious sandy beaches going towards to Hayle Estuary. Behind the car park at Gwithian Towans is a lovely cafe ‘Sunset Surf’. Well worth a visit for breakfast (opens at 10am). A visit to St Ives is a must.....beautiful!!

Absolutely fantastic for beach lovers

Just spent an amazing week in the beautifully kept site which is next to lovely sand dunes, the most fabulous beaches and stunning national trust coastal paths. This will definitely be on our 'visit again' list. The wardens were friendly and always greeted us with a friendly smile or a funny quip. Dog and children loved it too.

Beautiful Place

We have just spent a week with our dog at this amazing site set next to a sand dune nature reserve, breathtaking cliffs and an incredible beach, which at low tide is an enormous expanse of almost white sand. Great for bird watchers, surfers, walkers, horseriders, geologists, children and dogs. We chose the site for its location next to this beach as a large section has no dog restrictions unlike many other sandy beaches. So you will probably see a lot of dogs, and people with dogs. That said, everyone was fastidious in cleaning up after their pets and the site was spotless. The showers were great with plenty of hot water and the wardens were friendly, helpful and very hard working. We had fish and chips from the van that comes round twice a week and the fish was very fresh and delicious. Barbeques were allowed and as we had fine weather, people were even barbequeing their breakfasts! Nearby supermarkets make a longer stay easy to cater for and there are lots of places to eat nearby.

Brilliant site but too many dogs

This is a brilliant site for visiting st Ives and the surrounding area and for walking via the sand dunes to the Towans beach or alternatively you can drive to a car park and walk down a few steps to the beach. The biggest fault not only to us but others we spoke to was people using the site as a dog walk and letting dogs relieve themselves on grass near occupied pitches. It is stated that there is no dog walk on site but it is only a few minutes walk from the site to the sand dunes. This problem needs to be resolved before we would use this site again. This problem occurs on lots of sites and really needs addressing as not everyone is dog lovers (you cannot blame the dogs, it is the owners). Cannot comment on the facilities as we always use the ones in our caravan. Wardens very good.

Beautiful site

We have just had 7 nights on this beautiful site. The site is ideally placed to tour the most southern tip of Cornwall. Perfectly kept pitches and facilities and lovely friendly and helpful wardens. We will hopefully be visiting again next year

Peaceful pleasant and big skies

Compact but neatly segregated site with excellent facilities and super wardens. The sea is about half a mile away over the dunes to the cliffs then another half mile to access the beach. You can drive to a car park adjacent to the beach but motorhomes are unsuitable. Great doggy walking territory - and there are plenty of doggies about !!! St Ives is a no go area for motorhome parking so get a taxi or walk from a suitable supermarket car park. Peaceful pleasant site with good space between pitches or at least we had as it was far from full. The A30 is about 1.5miles away so getting about is good. 👍

Just perfect

Great site- fantastic wardens- superb situation being walking distance to the stunning Godrevy beach. Facilities are fine and a bit of mud is inevitable when we stayed which was early October! Good to have 4G there too An absolute gem

Wet Visit

Visited last year almost same time, lovely weather, dry pitch. Oh dear this time pitch very muddy and some shut off. Was glad I had no need to drive on and off pitch with motorhome. No-ones fault, English weather, but some hard standing upgrade would benefit this site. Otherwise all nice clean and staff dealt with the terrible weather well, with a smile
