Gorgeous Godrevy!

Fab first outing of 2017 in our motorhome and being local, we knew the location to be outstanding. This site also lived up to expectations! From the welcome to the facilities, the site layout to the pitches, the cleanliness and the maintenance - all was top notch. It would have been 5 stars for everything had it not been for the 3 chaps in the field next door who quite unexpectedly arrived with their noisy powered kites, which sounded like 10 lawnmowers. In fact the site wardens were also annoyed by the Sunday afternoon raised decibel level, completely beyond their control! Whatever, this is a great site, well worth a visit so, get your pasty packed and deck chairs loaded and book a spot! We shall be back even though we'd only travelled 5 miles from home! Thanks Godrevy!!

Hidden Gem...

A short walk away from Godrevy beach this site is quiet and easy to reach - once you've found the way down the sometimes narrow lanes, but it's well worth it!! Pitches are grassed and with no obvious lines between them as you find on some sites, the only restriction is that motorhomes are parked in line with and at right angles to the numbered pitch marker - simple but effective. A shower/facilities block set centrally and kept very clean and tidy. Dog walking available just outside the site on a public bridleway leading to the dunes and beaches. You can also drive down to within 100m of the beach on a tarmac road and there's a large carpark there where campers/ cars/ motorhomes can park during the day and a cafe nearby (Sunset Cafe) that does good coffee and an array surfing gear. Dogs are welcome too. Overall I'd describe it as an easy-going and restful place to be. We'll certainly be returning..

A truly great site in a cracking location

Okay, we didn't travel far to Godrevy for our night there, but we fancied a night away close to home, so why not? It's a cracking site - the facilities are clean, tidy and well thought through, the welcome was warm and friendly, and considering that it's almost within site of the A30 and has the back road to Portreath right next to it, quite astonishingly quiet. In fact, the loudest things we could hear were the waves from the beach. Kids will love the playground, and it's a short walk to the beach. Quick word of caution: as a local, I know how fast some of my near neighbours drive on that road, so do take extra care when crossing. Hayle's a five-minute drive down the road with all you'll need to stock up with, so what more can I say? We loved it, and we'll be going back when we fancy a bit of a break without driving more than a few minutes away.

Lovelly area

We stayed in September but I have only just had time to sit down and write this review. The wardens are very good and helpful and the site is very clean and tidy the chip van was excellent and I got stunning photos at the beach at sunset. The only disappointment was the shower block there was mildew over the ceiling tiles that had been painted over so the wardens had been trying to make things look better there is cold standing water in the shower trays due to the wrong falls on the floors and there is a smell of drains. I work for the NHS and I am in charge of maintenance for a large estate including hospitals but it doesn't take me to notice all the extract vents in the shower block are totally blocked with dust and not extracting steam which is causing damp and mildew everywhere. It is a shame the shower blocks let the site down it was quite expensive to stay and I would of probably got better facilities for the same money or less on a private site. Looking at a lot of cc club shower blocks I think they need to bring back the mops and disinfectant as other sites that use mops seem to be cleaner and less mould in the silicone sealant in the showers.

Home from home

2nd visit this year and was very happy again with the site. Our son lives in Hayle and so this is ideal for us. Staff are friendly. Site clean and tidy and no problems with loos. As said before the only problem which is nothing to do with the site itself is that very busy road to cross to get to the heathland and sea. Nearly got hit twice as I have 2 elderly slow dogs. Views great from heathland but as I don't like the sand dunes I don't go in but plenty of space on heathland to exercise the dogs and/or children. Looking forward to our next visit as soon as the site is open.

Perfect autumn break

Our first visit to Cornwall and we will be back! The wardens at this site were very friendly and helpful and keep the site immaculate. Great place for us for walking and for its proximity to St ives and st Michaels mount. I also took note that there's an m&s food outlet nearby, and a lidl so you can easily get supplies locally.

Wot a sight

Love this site, have stayed previously a few times so obviously love it. four dogs and the dunes and a beach, fabulous location and more. The site is kept immaculate, pitches loos and all other facilities. Any problems are those caused by visitors not staff. Staff are conscientious and always patient and helpful. Keep it up guys, we love you.
