First Visit

This was our first visit, but won't be our last. Lovely site with superb shower block. Wardens very friendly, and also very hardworking. Forfar town is just a few minutes walk away, and a gate from the site leads you onto a great park for dog walking. This is another little jewel in the Caravan Club's crown.

Keep it local

Third or fourth visit here so taht kinda says it all - warm welcome. spotless facilities and site - wardens are borderline OCD keeping it clean and tidy! all praise to them. Thought I'd cover the surrounding area a bit more this report. Forfar a busy town with loads on - Tesco and Asda have stores here but the gems are the local shops - you must try a bridie at Sadlers bakery in fact try anythings at the tearoom there cheap and awesome. There a hardware store in town that is heaven to any diy'ers - if you need it they have it. clothes and gift shops are well represented and the butcher by the one way system has a superb range of meat. Plenty of takeaways and places to eat. Further afield check out Brechin Garden Centre - plants, gifts and a great restuarant. Kirriemuir isnt far with Visconti's cafe and a great visitor centre. Moving further out Perth, Arbroath, Dundee all worth a visit. So a great base for exploring

Great first time visit

Tried to book online for a motorhome without awning but it showed as fully booked, but tried again with awning and was successful. When we arrived on site there were actually four free spaces. We had a great time, lovely quite site, five minutes walk from the town centre. Very clean, very well laid out and lots of dog walking opportunities nearby. Just loved it and we will certainly be back. We normally use CLs, but for a little bit extra this was well worth it. We can certainly recommend this site.

Forfar club site

3rd time at this site, Excellent facilities and site overall, many caravan sites would do well to get to this level. The wardens on our stay in September were always busy and it showed, very nice people and hard working. We will be back, no question.

Another excellent stay

This is the fourth time that we have stayed at this site and the longest(7 nights). The staff were friendly and helpful and remembered your name from day to day which added a personal touch. The toilets and showers were the cleanest that we have experienced across the sites that we have stayed at, a credit to the wardens, it will be a hard act to follow. With shopping within walking distance and the playing fields around the Loch for dog walking this site ticks all the boxes. Downside, you have to book early if you want to stay over a weekend

One of the best...

My wife and I have owned camper vans and caravans since 1985. Over a twenty year period we toured Australia extensively from West to East coasts and south to Tasmania. Since 2013 we have toured the UK from Lands End to the Orkneys, from Elie to The Mull of Kintyre, and from the south to the north of Ireland. Consequently we have stayed at a great many caravan parks. It is no exaggeration to say that the Forfar Lochside Caravan Club Site is, to the best of our collective recollections, one of the best, if not the best park we have stayed in to date. I thank the lovely lady who opened up after hours to sell me a bottle of gas. I commend the wardens on the cleanliness of the site in it's entirety. The ablution facilities were the best we have use any where in our travels. The entire site exudes peace, tranquillity, almost a sanctuary type of atmosphere. We spent three nights there and would strongly recommend this site to all those who love caravaning and want a site to remember. There is just one small point I feel that needs to be address, and please, this does not detract from the excellence of this site. That point is that the site is very difficult to locate. The sign is only visible when approaching from one direction, and , that sign is faded and partialy obscured by shrubs (from memory). A bit difficult when towing a van and one misses the entrance. Notwithstanding this petty matter the park is a wonderful place to stay.

Good for touring.

Immaculate site in all aspects plus pleasant & helpful wardens. Good site for touring (Forfar itself we didn't find inspiring) with a good park round the loch (excellent facility for town and club) plus "health", sport gym & children play facilities beside the club. Lunan Bay has an excellent beach & environment but be very careful with children, the waters can be dangerous. Interesting National Trust for Scotland sites are around.

Fantastic site

Great welcome on arrival, very clean and well maintained grounds. So quiet and relaxing, fantastic walks around the Loch for the dogs. Very close to shops and loads of takeaways to choose from nearby. Everyone in Forfar is so friendly. Had a lovely weekend break and will definitely be back, highly recommend
