Great site

We had a weekend here for Truckfest (my son is trucks mad) What a lovely site - so close to ferry meadows park which is absolutely great xx ditch the car as within walking distance is a lovely pub/restaurant, pitch and putt and of course the park. The wardens were lovely as I was driving our motorhome (my hisband was following in the car as he couldn't leave work early) from Sussex and I got stuck at the Dartford crossing Friday night traffic. I contacted the site to say I would be there 5 or 6 minutes late and they were SO lovely and said don't panic we will sort you out when you get here xxx and that's what they did xxx lovely

Star of the show!

Yes this is the site that was featured in the caravanner of the year show! Please don't hold this against it! As always the club site is clean, tidy and very well maintained. Staff are great. It is a little expensive but it benefits from a brilliant location. It is part of the Ferry Meadows Country Park. Here you can walk, run, cycle, fish, play and even ride the model train. There is also the Nene Valley Railway within a few hundred yards for the rail enthusiasts. There are 2 golf courses and a national cycleway into Peterborough (two and a half miles away). This is a surprisingly beautiful city and well worth a couple of hours of your time. Just one word of warning - watch out for the guerrilla rabbits. The TV signal is poor so I connected up with a lovely brand new piece of coax. Next morning it has been bitten through by those pesky wabbits!! Have a great stay.

Great long weekend

Just stayed here for a long weekend and it was full to the brims but you wouldn't have said that as there is a great sense of space around the site and it was kept to a very high standard well done all you wardens you do a great job we stayed on the hard standing side so if you don't like the noise of kiddy winks running about this side is for you but I rate this site as one of the best in east angler  Well done the caravan club

A great site but ......

what on earth is under the gravel on the hard standings?  Even stout steel pegs propelled by a 3 kg hammer will not always penetrate more than 2 or 3 inches. Otherwise everything about this site is excellent, and the staff are most helpful.

Lovely campsite with very helpful staff

My mum and I stayed here after the bank holiday weekend. The site was brilliant in a lovely location. Unfortunately I had an accident on my bike needing hospitalisation. The staff could not have been more helpful to both my mum and I, allowing us to stay an extra night, dealing with the AA when they came to collect my van. We will definitely return to this site when hopefully I can enjoy it a bit more

Fantastic Family Site

One of our favourite sites.  Perfect for families, there is so much to do - the site has a new park which is amazing, the kids spent so much time in it.  Great location by the country park which also has fantastic parks, cafe, lots of biking and boat trips around the lake.  Had a lovely meal in the pub just down the road.  Hubby played golf several times.  Brilliant place.  Staff on site really friendly and facilities lovely.

A real treat

We couldn't have chosen a better site for our first outing. The setting is wonderful with Ferry meadows a step away, with its lakes, wild life and cafes. And it's dogs friendly. Just up the road is a restaurant/pub and a golf course. Even a garden centre. The Nene Valley Railyway runs close by with a station about 1/2 mile away. The site staff were so very helpful, ready with advice when we needed it. The facilities were exceptionally clean as was the whole site. The site shop stocks the essentials, plus goodies. We met some friendly folk who were more than willing to share their experiences and expertise, for which we were very grateful. There is children's play area on the site as well as the play facilities in ferry meadows. A great place for a couple of nights or a week away.

Lovely site in a lovely place

We've recently visited Ferry Meadows for the second time, returning after a gap of 5 years. It's a pretty standard club site, well laid out so although large you never have the feeling of being overwhelmed. Facilities are a little dated now, but spotlessly clean and even though the site was full during our visit there was never a queue for the showers. We stayed on the west(?) side of the site, the side where reception is on a itch backing onto the railway line, but you don't get disturbed by the very infrequent trains which run past and you do get a great view of the steam train which runs at weekends. We didn't have time to visit the city centre n this brief visit but I believe you still get a discounted fare for travelling into Peterborough on this train; the station is a short walk from the site. The great attraction of the place, of course, is its proximity to Nene Park with its lakes and woodland walks - the bluebells were out in full splendour when we walked through the far side of the park. There are several other walks which can be done from nearby villages such as Castor and Helpston. All in all, a very pleasant stay and a good opportunity to meet up with friends who live in the area.

Lovely site

We have just been this weekend and had a great time. The wardens couldn't have been nicer. we arrived at 8.05 on Friday night and was worried that we wouldn't be let in but the wardens were lovely. You can pick your own pitch which is great xx lovely well laid out site right in Ferry Meadows park and within walking distance to a pub and pitch and putt golf, cycle hire and café and of course the park.

Good for kids

This site is in a beautiful location, right in the middle of a large park.  There are safe, interesting and flat cycling routes which are perfect for children.  There is a steam train which goes in to Peterborough, and events in the park itself.  A really nice site if you have children, especially as it has a nice play area as well.
