disappointed children

We booked this site and arranged to meet my son so there were 4 children of various ages and 4 adults. I booked because of the publicity surrounding the new play area for the children, unfortunately on arrival we were informed that the area was not open so the children were disappointed, the electricity did off twice but only for a short time. It did rain and unfortunately due to bad drainage both awnings were in water. The wash room facilities were good and staff appeared friendly.

City Break

Who needs to go to Budapest, Barcelona or Riga when you can go to Ferry Meadows and have a city break in Peterborough? We stayed just for two nights and on the middle day we visited Peterborough Museum (brilliant!), had a splendid lunch at one of the many excellent Italian restaurants in the city, and went to the Key Theater for some live entertainment. We could have done the cathedral as well (one of the most handsome in Europe) not to mention the speedway, dog racing or even football! Excellent, excellent, excellent and we were only twelve miles from home... :)

Brilliant all round site

Been to Ferry Meadows several times. Lovely site, ideally situated for so many things. Peterborough not too far away, lots of lovely walks and playgrounds. Small train onsite during peak times, steam train just up the road. Pub and garden centre within walking distance. Lovely all round site to stay on with or without family. Ideal for dogs. Facilities always immaculate and wardens always friendly and helpful. Shirley

Peace and tranquility

What an amazing place, if you want peace this is it, location couldn't have been more perfect and the staff so very cheerful and helpful, the shower/toilet blocks and other facilities were immaculately kept and very warm. We went there on from 20/01/2017 till 25/01/2017, we had our GSD puppy (15 weeks) and our 13 year old cat with us, Nene park was directly behind the site, great for walks, fishing lakes, dog agility course, 2 cafes plus much more, Beefeater pub close by, walking distance. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back, it was sad to leave this wonderful site!

Fabulous Find

Looking for a site not too far from home we found Ferry Meadows with the midweek discount an absolute bargain. The weather forecast as we set off was horrible for our stay but hey ho off we went. A lovely warm welcome from smiling approachable staff. Soon pitched and the kettle on. We investigated the park in the afternoon. Walking to Peterborough spying a kingfisher. Fabulous. Springfields shopping outlet and Ely cathedral not too far away for a trip. We cannot praise this site enough and thoroughly recommend it. The team are everything that the club stands for.

Seasonal stay

Stayed for a week over Christmas. Received a warm welcome from the new wardens who stressed the speed limit on site, all site rules and that they were very proactive in enforcing all the rules. Facilities were spotless and site was very tidy and well kept. Site is well located for shopping and town centre as well as Nene Park with all its walks around the lakes and the river. We enjoy this site particularly as we have 2 energetic Labradors who need lots of exercise and the Park is ideal for this. Only down side to our stay was the usual bugbear...people who seem to think that they are above the rules and have no consideration for others, particularly the dog owners who cannot be bothered clearing up after their dogs. Although the site is next to Nene Park, it would be good if the Club could set up an on site dog walk (like Sandringham) and I am sure the site would benefit.

Great site close to everything

Stayed here on the Friday/Saturday 9th & 10th December and was worried what to expect for a "city" site. Easy to find with good access. It is a great location, close to the Nene Park, golf course, steam trains and city centre. We walked to Peterborough on Saturday and it took about an hour, nice stroll past the golf course, railway, rowing pool into the centre for Christmas shopping. Facilities are fine probably due for an update but normal standards. Nice to see they amend the cleaning times in winter so its not closed for so long. Did not find the new play area so cannot comment on that. Will visit again in the warmer months as its an easy drive here for us and plenty to do.
