This is a great site on the edge of the park. The wardens are very helpful and give you all the information you will need to make a good holiday. If you have a dog it is great for long walks around the lake and you are able to let your dog off the lead for a good run around.
The cafe by the lake is great for a coffee and dogs are made very welccome. We will be returning soon.
Feeling Relaxed
4 night stay for visiting family nearby and enjoying the local Park. Just relaxed and used the facilities as intended.
Anniversary meal at the Beefeater down the road nearly broke the bank but the food and Ale was top quality.
Great site for active families
We enjoyed a lovely stay at Ferry Meadows. The site has easy access to the nearby country park with play areas, watersports and a train. We also walked to the rowing lake and sculpture park all along footpaths. There's a Tesco Express nearby and a huge Tesco 10 minutes drive away.
Our highlight was visiting Burghley House. We did a "Beastly Boring" family tour which meant we had the place practically to ourselves and at £10 pp it was the cheapest option too.
The site is great for kids with it's excellent play area but did get muddy in the rain. An ice cream van was round every night which got a bit annoying, but other than that it was great.
Shame about the kids playing about with the gas tanks... could have ended very badly: watch your kids and explain why the fence is there, please!!!!

A good family break
Have just returned from a 3 night stay at Ferry Meadows (our third visit). Had a great time with the kids again (4 year old niece and 16 month old daughter) who really enjoyed themselves. Only shame was the vandalism the site toilets seem to be a victim of recently. Otherwise lots of fun had!
A countryside oasis.
This was not our first visit to this site but it is one of those sites we enjoy returning to. It is like a countryside oasis in an urban area and there is probably something to suit every taste in close proximity to the site, be it visiting Peterborough Cathedral, the Nene Valley Steam Railway or just relaxing by a lake in the country park. The site itself is up to the usual high standards of the CC with excellent facilities and friendly staff.. Highly recommend this site.

First solo trip away!
My first solo trip to a club site since passing my test. Not too far to travel and a perfect welcome from the wardens when we arrived. We found the pitch we liked and after backing carefully in, one warden explained that the marker had has been moved and I needed to move again. He was extremely helpful and also have gave me invaluable advice with regards to towing and caravanning in general - thank you! The site was great, excellent access to the country park and also perfectly placed for catching the steam train too.
Already booked to return in October!
Best play area on the circuit
Our 4th visit to Ferry Meadows - for a week in the summer hols. Our teen boys were delighted to find the play area has recently been renewed. Now includes a muga (for football/basketball) and loads of fab play equipment for all ages of children. Truly is the best one we've found at any CC site and a real social area for children to meet. This is located on the east side of the site, there is a small play area on the west side, but that side seems to be quieter (almost for adults only).
Fantastic location with Nene Park on the doorstep - perfect for cycling as a family. Lots of watersports/fishing and more play areas available within Nene Park itself.
Peterborough is a lovely city - fantastic outdoor Lido in the city centre, and family-friendly greyhound racing stadium. Wisbech roller rink also a favourite.
Wardens helpful and courteous - site is large but doesn't feel so.
Really is a great all-round destination with something for everyone, come rain or shine.
Highly recommended.
Lovely site
We stayed here for a long weekend with family. Club directions were fairly good and the arrivals area was easy to find. The site has a number of security barriers which you need an access card for. However, you are only given a card once you have chosen a pitch and informed reception where you are. So we spent several frustrating minutes trying to get someone to let us through the barriers!
We stayed on the East field whch was lovely, really spacious pitches and set out nicely so it had a secluded feel to it. Warden came to tell us off for not being right up against the pitch marker (no one on our field was) but did kindly let us stay put and even helped us put up our awning. Great pitch - mainly level and despite tons of rain it didn't get muddy at all.
Play area was fantastic and safe and I was happy to let my son go off and play.
Lovely clean toilets and showers, never had to wait and VERY HOT water. Slight niggle was the coded door entry - too long for my son to remember and even written down he couldn't manage turning the lock, so I spent most of the weekend taking him to the loo!
Location was excellent and right next to the country park. Would definitely visit again

Great site
Stayed for the first time for one night on the way down to the south coast. Great welcome at reception and very helpful pointing out vacant pitches without having to drive around both sides of the site. Facilities very clean. Only there from early afternoon but saw enough to make sure we will come back for a longer stay. Adjacent to huge park and lakes excellent for cycling and walking the dogs. Drove into Peterborough for a meal and walk round and it seemed very nice.
