Brilliant site!

Just returned from our first stay at Ferry Meadows, a brilliant site run by a hard-working cheerful team of wardens who will go out of their way to help with any problems. Thank you! The whole busy site and shower block are kept very clean and tidy. The location is perfect with a only a short walk into beautiful Nene Park with mile upon mile of pathways to explore by foot or bike. Took some lovely walks round the lakes and across the meadows where Lucy, our Bedlington terrier enjoyed hours of fun running off lead. We will definitely return to Ferry Meadows!

Great site, ideal location

The site is well maintianed, staff are very helpful and knowledgable about the area. It is ideal for train lovers being within walking distance of the train station. We would definitely recommend this site.

Well done to the wardens

Having just returned from a 6 night break at this site I thought I would just give the site wardens a big pat on the back. It was a most enjoyable stay at the site, the site was clean, the toilet block was very clean and the wardens were first class, helpful and friendly. During our stay a number of 'travellers' turned up and made camp a short distance away from the site, I believe they attempted to access the site but were promptly turned away, the local police also attended the area as a result. It was reassuring that the wardens on site were prompt with security at the site and closed the access gates and remained at the gates at all times to prevent the travellers from entering the site. Even though the wardens normal daily work routine was disrupted they still remained cheerful and continued to provide a great service and even visited every occupied pitch and offered advice. Again a big thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Great site and Location

This is a great site on the edge of the park. The wardens are very helpful and give you all the information you will need to make a good holiday. If you have a dog it is great for long walks around the lake and you are able to let your dog off the lead for a good run around. The cafe by the lake is great for a coffee and dogs are made very welccome. We will be returning soon.

Feeling Relaxed

4 night stay for visiting family nearby and enjoying the local Park. Just relaxed and used the facilities as intended. Anniversary meal at the Beefeater down the road nearly broke the bank but the food and Ale was top quality.

Great site for active families

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Ferry Meadows. The site has easy access to the nearby country park with play areas, watersports and a train. We also walked to the rowing lake and sculpture park all along footpaths. There's a Tesco Express nearby and a huge Tesco 10 minutes drive away. Our highlight was visiting Burghley House. We did a "Beastly Boring" family tour which meant we had the place practically to ourselves and at £10 pp it was the cheapest option too. The site is great for kids with it's excellent play area but did get muddy in the rain. An ice cream van was round every night which got a bit annoying, but other than that it was great. Shame about the kids playing about with the gas tanks... could have ended very badly: watch your kids and explain why the fence is there, please!!!!

A good family break

Have just returned from a 3 night stay at Ferry Meadows (our third visit). Had a great time with the kids again (4 year old niece and 16 month old daughter) who really enjoyed themselves. Only shame was the vandalism the site toilets seem to be a victim of recently. Otherwise lots of fun had!

A countryside oasis.

This was not our first visit to this site but it is one of those sites we enjoy returning to. It is like a countryside oasis in an urban area and there is probably something to suit every taste in close proximity to the site, be it visiting Peterborough Cathedral, the Nene Valley Steam Railway or just relaxing by a lake in the country park. The site itself is up to the usual high standards of the CC with excellent facilities and friendly staff.. Highly recommend this site.
