Brilliant welcome and break

We stayed over the Christmas period and from the start till the end could not have been made any more welcome. From helpful advice, Xmas eve party and Xmas present on Xmas day it was an enjoyable break. Really good as close to park for several good walks for all.

Excellent site and Wardens.

Stayed over Xmas 2017, despite arriving a day late due to "senior moment", we were welcomed very warmly, I guess other members have mentioned the Xmas gathering on Xmas eve and the little present delivered to every camper on Xmas day, very well done the wardens, a good example to set to all wardens everywhere, The site was well attended and looked very festive, shame about the weather, The site is up to the usual CMC standards, and wanted for nothing, we are planning a return few days later in the year in our motorhome, probably with friends this time. Once again, well done everybody.

Best New Year Trip Ever

We have been going away in the caravan for new year for the last 4 years and this was our first trip to the Ferry Meadows CC site and will most certainly not be our last. The wardens put on the the most amazing New Years Eve get together for everyone, there was even a full hog roast, along with rolls, roast potatoes and stuffing and a full range of nibbles and cakes etc, even the wine was included and all for the princely sum of £2.50 per couple! Virtually everyone turned out and it was a fantastic evening. So many thanks to the wardens Dee, Allen, Kaye and Steve for going above and beyond the call of duty ( they were up at 4am to put the hog roast on!) and making it our best New Year trip by far. As for the site it is a great place to visit for walking, cycling, water sports and dog walking, the site facilities were spotless and warm and the site was just spot on and very well run. So much to do around and about and in our opinion definitely well worth another visit. Many thanks Roger & Pauline

Christmas at Ferry Meadows

We have yet again come to Ferry Meadows for Christmas The dog loves it we love it as it gives you the opportunity to walk for miles and nearly all on the flat At about 10-30am a knock at the caravan door and it was the site managers all dressed up in 🎅 suite with a goody bag containing mince pies cracker chocolate coins candy cane and a santa lolly Lovely thought thank you people We come as often as possible throughout the year and as for the comments about grumpy warden the guy says it as it is which in my book is the way it should be I don't think the wardens are missribal but some of the members should stand back and take a long look at them selves. Lovely friendly camp site

We arrived at the site at 5pm and were greeted by a friendly warden who helped us find a good pitch near to the wash block and found everything as you would wish. The toilets lovely and clean and nice and warm (December time) especially at 6am when we departed nice and early.

Rude Staff

We arrived 10 mins early, we buzzed the buzzer and was told " I'm busy sorting out the toilets, you will have to reverse out and come back in 10 mins, I understand that we were early but a queue had formed behind us and we could not reverse with our caravan, a lady then came over and told us off basically for arriving early, she opened the barrier for us and told us to park in the arrivals section and not to be early next time, staff were rude and very unwelcoming. The next day we were told off for not taking the quickest route off site to walk our dog, we walked past 2 extra caravans, I told the warden we were heading to the exit, he pointed and said your caravan is there, you should have come this way, we felt like naughty children, we went to the office to read the parks policy on dogs, we told the lady we were on plot 57, she said to my husband..."Pitch" 57? again being made to feel uncomfortable, I feel the staff here have alot to learn about talking to people and not talking down to them, yes the toilets were immaculate but what's the point if you have rude and unwelcoming staff.

Weekend with the Grandchildren

Booked in over half term with our 3 grandchildren. The site was extremely busy, despite that the staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were all well maintained and in excellent working order. The play park is well appointed and kept the little ones occupied for a considerable time. The close proximity of Nene Park is a bonus, plenty going on and literally on the doorstep. We used the steam railway, complete with discount for staying on site, to go into Peterborough, a regular service and a treat for us all. We used the nearby pub/restaurant for Sunday lunch, despite booking we had some service issues, if you plan to use it make sure you do book and allow plenty of time to eat. This is a site we shall definitely return to and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable time, it is easy to see why this is such a popular site.

Excellent location

This site is well kept, clean and superbly located for the nearby parkland which is extensive. Whether you want to walk, cycle, fish, play golf, take the train and / or go in to Peterborough it could not be easier or more convenient. It all on the Doorstep waiting for you. There is a garden centre and a restaurant very close by, cycle hire a few yards from the gate, what else is there to want? Highly recommended

Have already earmarked as a 'return to site', simples.

We were both quite taken with this site from the time of arrival. Loved the fact that it is open all year round. Facilities are very good and although our early November visit was not the height of summer the venue, and site staff, just welcomes you and you can also visualise the summer days at this site. It is already marked down as a site to return to for us. A although this time it was a 'passing through' visit we will definitely be returning.

1st visit to ferry Meadows

1st visit to ferry Meadows so not quite sure what to expect from reading the earlier reviews. We opted for the West side due to it being away from the play area. The location is very good being next to the Nene Valley Country Park. The Nene valley railway runs close to the site, so you can hear the steam trains, but they are a great route into town if you don't like walking. It is best to check the time table before relying on this service. The facilities have a few very minor problems, but this is nothing to do with the management team, who do everything they can to keep everything looking great. Loved the well stocked shop. We did find that the roadways were a little tight in width. We had parked right up to the white peg, but found that the passing vehicles were quite close to the front of our vehicle. These very minor points aside the place will certainly be a regular visit for us.
