Frustrated with dog owners.

Before I start I am a dog owner myself. We have just come back from Ferrymeadows after spending six nights there between Xmas and the new year. During the time that we were there I witnessed other dog owners letting their poochs use others peoples pitches to wee on, letting them poo on their own pitches, admitidly they cleaned it up. Although there is no dog walk on site turn left or right out of the gate there is plenty of space for our four legged friends to go about their business. I totally understand that it is an almost impossible task for the wardens to manage this, Other than he above this was our fourth year in a row that we have stayed over the festive period ( we've just booked for this year) and can't rate the site enough, it really is a lovely place to stay enabling us to recharge our batteries ready for the new year.

Xmas Magic

We took the decision to break from the norm and stay at Ferry Meadows with our two young children for Xmas. We were not disappointed and our children had a magical time. Took them on the Nene Valley Railway Santa Special on Christmas Eve, which was well worth the price, with copious amounts wine, beer, whiskey, soft drinks, chocolate and mince pies available included in the price. Santa was on the train too to add to the magic for them. The site wardens laid on free buffet and drinks in the early evening before a carol concert with the local church choir. On Christmas day Santa paid a visit to each caravan on a green tractor bearing gifts for all! The majority of vans were decorated with lights to illuminate the site in the evenings. I cannot praise the wardens enough for their hard work and attention to detail during our stay. Definitely worth trying if you get the chance.

THANK YOU :)

We stayed here on a seasonal pitch for 6 weeks as we are " in-between homes" at the moment.. Both Alan and Dee were so accommodating, they were so friendly and helpful to us. Nothing was too much trouble. All 4 of the wardens work extremely hard to keep the site clean and tidy. We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL.

Lovely site within a country park... great for dog walking

We only 'discovered' Ferry Meadows in October - this is our second visit and hopefully we'll be able to make it a regular thing. The site is very well laid out and the pitches are quite generous. The wardens do an excellent job keeping everything clean and tidy, they're friendly, always smiling and ready to help with information if requested. The park is great for us to 'stretch' our legs, with the choice of many different areas to explore and walks of varying lengths leading in all directions. Our two dogs love having such a large area to sniff and run around in, and, get very muddy... because of the poor weather! It would be well worth having a doggy shower installed on site and judging by the amount of visitors with dogs I'm sure if provided, a doggy shower would be much appreciated and well used, but lack of that facility isn't likely to stop us from coming - we'll just have to hope for dry weather!! Maybe our future visits will include walks further afield to the places mentioned in other reviews but we're quite happy to enjoy walking around the park for a few hours - it wears us and the dogs out! - then we relax/flake out in the motorhome for the rest of the day...

Lovely Setting - Great Walks

Stayed here twice now and both times very happy with all aspects of the site. Clean, tidy, great walls - be careful not to get lost around the park ( we didn’t 🤫🤫😂) Great for kids/dogs, overall one of the best we’ve stated at. Many thanks, Elton & Louise

Another wonderful visit

We have been to Ferry Meadows quite a few times now and we are never disappointed. The site is well kept and the facilities are well maintained and spotless. The location is great, especially for walking the dogs and there are two cafes nearby where caravan club members receive 10 per cent discount and can earn a free coffee from their loyalty card. The one by the lake allows dogs into a special conservatory area - great when the weather is bad. Notcutt’s garden centre is also nearby where you can visit the cafe for meals or a snack. Dogs are only allowed in the garden centre not the cafe, although there is seating outside. Buses to Peterborough town centre (no 1) runs frequently. You can also visit Baytree Garden Centre and Springfields (shopping outlet) within half an hour’s drive. I can’t finish this review without mentioning the wardens, Dee and Alan. They are very welcoming and helpful at all times. Real treasures.

Spotless Site

This was our fifteenth trip to Ferry Meadows and it never fails to disappoint. The wardens do an exceptional job in keeping the site spotless. When we visited site there were only two sets of wardens instead of the usual four but the site was still immaculate. There is a visit from the fish and chip van on a Friday and Saturday evening. There is plenty to do from here the park is only a five minute walk which offers you plenty to do and if you walk to the end of the access road there is a Beefeater and Garden Centre. The steam train which is next to the site runs mainly at the weekend although it does run during the school holidays.Peterborough has a varied selection of shops and the Cathedral is well worth a visit.Stamford is about twenty minutes away and is very picturesque. Our son has severe learning difficulties and Alan and Dee always make our stay an enjoyable one.Thank you the site is a credit to you and your team.

Another lovely stay at this well kept site

Ferry Meadows is a great site located only a couple of miles from Peterborough yet set in beautiful parkland with lake and the river Nene within a short walk. The site is well kept, facilities are clean and modern. Pitches are level and well spaced out in between trees.

Wonderful Site

We spent a long weekend here and certainly didn't regret choosing this site , the wardens are friendly and very helpful and keep everywhere spotless ,we stayed on the West side which was lovely. The reception sells lovely cakes also other provisions, one couldn't ask for a nicer site. The surrounding area has plenty of walks, wildlife, things for children to do the Nene vally railway ,and its possible to walk into Peterborough about 3 mls. nearby Stamford is a beautiful old town.We will most certainly be visiting the site again ,thank you to the staff for all your hard work keeping it so nice,we hope to see you again soon.

We will be back

This was our third visit this year and hopefully won't be the last. A lovely site, well kept and maintained, toilet and shower block is immaculate and lovely and warm. The camp shop is well stocked if you forget anything and staff really helpful. Lots to do near the site, ferry meadows country park with fishing, sailing and two cafe's one with a dedicated doggy dining area. Just down the road a golf course, pub and garden centre. Not forgetting a five minute walk to the railway station, Nene Valley railway. Fish and Chip van comes on Wednesday/Friday/Saturday plus the icecream van comes round the site. Hope to return before the weather turns.
