Good site.

First time staying at ferry meadows site. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Nice place to stay for a base for visiting the country park next to the site. Site and facilities kept clean and tidy. We will be back again in the summer time.

Great site

Great site for wild life (saw the otter) walking and cycling with good cafes in the park. Some road noise in the evening/night from the country park access road but it did not disturb us. The motorhome access point needs some rethinking as although the warden told us to go on either way in the one way road this meant we blocked the road to get the tap over the drain point. This upset the caravan trying to get down the road and provoked some comments from the caravanner opposite who said they should be in the corner of the site out of the way!! Room for both in the club l thought but hey ho. Very friendly site wardens and good facilities and will stop longer next time as this was only a stop over.

Helpful Warden

We have just returned from a seven week jolly around France. We stayed at Ferry Meadows on the way out in August and it was obvious that on our arrival we had a problem with our mover. The warden came to our rescue and identified the problems and went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. The problems were resolved quickly and it was one of those situations that had it happened in France the problem of explaining in my dodgy French and the cost does not bear thinking about. Thanks to the warden we had a worry free time in France - a massive thank you !!

Well done Alan,Dee and team

For the past few years we have had a seasonal pitch at Ferry Meadows and can't praise the wardens enough for the work that they do, very often under extremely adverse conditions, usually with a smile on their faces. This year was a bit traumatic for us due to ill health but Alan Dee and the assistants were all so helpful, they couldn't have done any more to help us. We love the site and hopefully we will be back.

Disappearing shrubs and plants

We have been very disappointed and saddened over the past couple of years to see the removal of so many bushes and shrubs from the site, not least for the loss of cover and habitat for birds and insects. This is exceedingly poor management and neglectful of the Club to allow this to happen.

Back again

We have used this site before as a stop over on our way to Dover. The facilities and location are "spot on". We travel with 2 Labradors and the proximity of the Nene Valley Park is superb it allow us to let the dogs have a run to burn off some energy. Will definitely use this site again, as either a stop over or a longer stay.

Great site right on top of Ferry Meadows

Good site, grass pitches large and right next to Ferry Meadows, which can be a bit noisy. Remember to pack the bug spray, we got eaten alive by the mosquitos! 😆

Great site

We have just returned from our yearly visit to Ferry Meadows and had a great time. The site was clean and tidy as always and the staff were great. There was a report of some bikes stolen but this was not the fault of the staff who are always patrolling the site. We come every year and have never experienced any problems regarding unwanted visitors. We shall definitely be back.

Time for a makeover and some parental re-education

Recently stayed at Ferry Meadows. We have been here a few times and always enjoy the visit. However, we were very surprised at how run down the site is starting to look now. I know some people have slated the wardens recently but to be honest I think its more to do with the lack of respect by visitors to the site. Although I understand there have been a few problems recently regarding the wardens I found them to be polite and trying thier best. This is a large site when both sides are open and it seemed to me that the wardens are having a tough time keeping up with the work load. The Toilet block on the B side was dirty most of the day with wet floors where people don't clean up after themselves. Toilets were full of mess where they hadn't been flushed or cleaned after use even though brushes are provided as are floor mops. The wash up area was disgusting with food waste being left in the drains and all over the floors. One of the sinks didn't work at all, seemingly the taps were broken. The grassed area was being cut when we arrived but because of the warm weather and heavy rain the grass was growing faster than the wardens could keep up with it. The dog bin near the gate was left full to overflowing for about 4 days with no sign that anyone was going to empty it. Overall the site is in a lovely location but the toilet block is old and tired and needs renovating. The wardens could also do with more help during the summer months and the visitors in general need a bit of an education in parental control and cleanliness. I bet they don't leave thier own homes in the state they left the washup and toilet facilities.

Great stay here

This was my first ever caravan trip after me and my partner recently purchased a caravan. Had a great time, its a busy site but there are plenty of places to go for a country walk or pitches available for a bit of peace. The staff where great, I realised that we didn't have any mugs and the warden on reception was kind enough to lend me one for a morning coffee until I was able to go to the Tesco to buy some. The WiFi is to be desired and rather costly, surprisingly in 2019, the club doesn't seem to offer free WiFi, which would be a welcome addition as these sites aren't cheap. Also overheard a conversation about theft over the weekend but hopefully the site will look to improve security. Other than that this site is a brilliant place for a break with plenty of things to do to entertain everyone and will be visiting again.
