A Super Site

We can't think of anything to say against this site, The wardens are all helpful and friendly & keep the site spotless it's a credit to them, its no easy task keeping everywhere clean& tidy with so many people using the facilities ,the hand cream provided by the wardens in shower/toilets & washing up areas is a lovely touch. The reception has milk bread butter cakes plus much more. The security barriers give the site that extra security which is nice. There is so much to do in the area that one could easily stay for a long weekend or more & not take car off site. We very much look forward to returning again soon.

Spoiling children's fun.

This is our second trip to this site which we checked out last year for our grandchildren. As it had a great play area and a small basket/ football area we thought this would be great for them. We stayed over the school holidays so site was full, on the second day the football area was closed due to siteing Caravans too close to this area, as fence surrounding the compound is not high enough, to stop the balls going over.My grandson went to site office after a couple of days to ask when will it be opened, and was told it may not be opened until the next week. A couple of days later it was opened, only for one of the wardens to stay to the boys playing football, if the ball goes over twice then it would be closed for the rest of the holidays. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, other members of staff could do with some training in been helpful. We really would have enjoyed this site ,but was spoilt by some of the wardens. We have been to over 80 club sites in our 15 years of caravaning with this club but feel badly let down by this experience for our grandchildren and ourselves.. On the plus side ,site is lovely and is great for children, Toilet block was always kept clean and tidy. Lovely bike rides from site to Peterborough. Will i go back NO. Mozza.😡

Lovely Site but it is a pity they close kids playing facilities during busy periods (Half term)

Great site but they closed the basketball/football court for most of half term. Apparently the ball was being kicked over the fence and hitting caravans that had parked behind it. During the closure these older kids then went and played football in the kids play area instead (which is not allowed) and this terrified the younger children and several of them were unable to use this facility for several days as a result. The site really needs to remove the pitches directly behind the basketball/football court or install a higher fence. Both of these options would cost money but what is the point of having a facility if it can't be used during busy periods? I wanted to play some basketball with my 10 year old daughter but was unable to do so. Should they advertise that they have a facility which cannot be used? Otherwise a great site.

Lovely site and would visit again

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of the half term with our 2 children on the east side of the site. This side of the site has a large childrens play area which we parked near to, consequently it was a little noisier that maybe other parts of the site but we expected this and it was just the sound of children playing. The site itself is very nice, the pitches were good. We did feel a little squished in but then it was very busy with half term. The playarea kept the children happy there was plenty for our 6 and 9 year olds to do. There is a chippy that comes on a Wed, Fri and Sat to the east side information centre. We didnt have any this time but they smelt amazing. We spent a fair bit of time at Ferry Meadows either walking around the lakes or at the cafes and didnt move the car other than to go and get some shopping from one of the local supermarkets. Overall a lovely stay

Children's paradise

Ferry Meadows is a site that we have visited many times with our Grandchildren they absolutely love it. There are two halves to the site one very quiet and the other, which contains the children's play area, can be quite noisy but very handy if you want to keep a close eye on children. We choose to stay on the quiet side then we can go across to the busier side if we want to. If your children love Steam trains then this is a must. Unfortunately the small steam train in the connecting Nene Park is now too expensive it cost £10 for a return trip for 2adults and 2children and only on it for a couple of minutes each way. Very disappointing

Good for a short break

I visit Ferry Meadows a few times a year as it is only an hour’s drive from where I live. The site and it’s facilities are clean and well maintained. There are several walks from the site, both around Ferry Meadows and beyond.

We will be back!!

Not the first time we have been to this site, but it was the first time we stayed on the camping side and we were not let down at all but probably due to it being outside of school holidays. The choices for pitches were very good and all seemed to be relatively flat, well at least ours was and we didn't make any specific point of trying to find one. Facilities were at the expected level for the Club and the closing times for cleaning were definitely to our liking on this side, after 2pm which was great. The washroom/toilet block was kept very clean, but the wardens closed off a number of cubicles to ease cleaning due to the reduced number of pitches in use, but this did not affect their availability; didn't have to wait at any time. The site is well laid out and had a small dog walk for their morning walk, which was ideal providing a quick alternative for their comfort break. I can't comment on what it might be like when busier because for our entire stay we had no units next to use and the only negative we had was due to an unwanted visitor to our awning at night which tried on several times to gain access to the contents of the boxes we leave in their; turned out to a squirrel and boy are there squirrels on this site. The country park next to the site is a walkers delight and apart from one trip to the supermarket our car was redundant. The park provides plenty of walks and cycle routes and the vista is a joy to behold. There are two cafes one at the entrance and the other next to one of the lakes and the food was excellent and not too expensive. There are plenty of dedicated Bar-B-Q areas dotted all over the park for those who want it and the miniature trains, when running, are reasonably priced and run constantly, so you can always get a ride. The wardens are very helpful and friendly, maintaining order without too much of the 'jobs worth' attitude and when they are enforcing the rules are mature and reasonable about it. Overall a great stay and a place for families with or without dogs to stay; we will be back.

Excellent well kept site

First time for us but definitely not the last. We don’t tend to like big sites but this one was quite. Well kept site with spotless toilet block. We found the wardens friendly and busy keeping the site at its best. It’s a stone throw from the park next door we’re you can enjoy some good walks, we found out you can hire a mobility scooter there too.

Excellent Site - Excellent Wardens

We stayed here for quite a few weeks off and on in March/April and I must say it is one of the best run sites the club has to offer. Every day bang on time the wardens arrived to clean the toilet blocks and leave them spotless (even after the weekends, which I must say they were sometimes left disgusting!!). Yes, the wardens did run everything by the book and yes, it was upsetting some people but they do have rules to abide by, and lets face it, they will never do the right thing by everybody. While on our stay we did see a lot of dog owners sneak out of their caravans/motorhomes in the early hours letting their dogs mess just on the grass behind them and then go back in hoping no-one could see them so you can see why the wardens try to stick to the rules and keep the site safe and clean for all that uses it. Anytime we needed help from both Alan and Dee and the other wardens they were more than happy to oblige. Considering how large the site is on both sides it is kept well maintained and safe for all visitors to enjoy. I say well done to the wardens and keep up the good work !!

Barry and Belinda Isle of Wight

This was our first visit to site. We were alittle concerned before going about size of site and would it be over crowded. But as laid out you get the impression that you were on a cl site. Dog area could be larger or more areas on site itself but excellent walk around Ferry Meadows itself
