Stay 5th to 12th July

Speeding on this site(and many others) is a real problem. Hardly anyone drives at 5mph including the Wardens who should be setting an example. I did challenge one driver who drove past at probably 20/30mph and was rewarded with a tirade of foul abuse. Not a direct criticism of the site but I feel the Wardens could do more.

Excellent Service

I can’t praise the wardens enough. I’d no gas and my mini oven kept tripping the electric out. There was a fault with the oven so couldn’t cook anything the evening I arrived. They went out of their way to help me. Even lent me their multi cooker so I could eat. Will definitely be returning.

I wouldnt have done that

A very good team. I reported a problem with what I thought was the tv pillar. They came to look at it quickly and in the pouring rain. I suggested he left it as it wasnt a problem for me, but he continued and proved the problem was with my tv and not the site. Thats some dedication, personally I would have left it until later

Another fabulous stay at Ferry Meadows!

Another fabulous stay at Ferry Meadows! Our children & grandchildren joined us for 5 nights with their tents. There's just so much for the little ones to do, so they were completely shattered come bed-time. This place is run by a super-friendly & efficient team. We'll be back. Thank you all!

Our first visit

Our first visit to FerryMeadows, the staff where very helpful and friendly, we where greeted by Gail on reception who was very pleasant, nice friendly welcome to start us off on our few days on the site, Ian another warden showed us too our pitch and helped us reverse onto the hard stand, both Ian and Gail are a credit to the club, the shower and toilet blocks where very clean, as was the site, no complaints, would certainly visit again and recommend to family & friends Thankyou.

second visit

This was our second visit we have been on both sides. Wardens are hard working and friendlily arrival time is 1 o'clock, but I seen people arrive before and was let on site this site is great for family's you have steam trains and lake cycle and waking trails just out of site gates. there is not a dog walk on site witch is disappointing as there's plenty of space where a dog walk can be . there is a rally field next to it is a corned area with tree cutting and wood piled up witch could be turned into a small dog walk. a little noisy. sorry to say with no dog walk on site I will not be returning.

good for kids

This is a pleasant site for all the family with ferry meadows right on your doorstep there is plenty of choice of what to do. If you fancy culture there is Peterborough cathedral .or a little further afield Stamford. This site is also very good for dog walking . My only complaint and its minor is don't go in the school holidays . I was surprised to see so many people not waring masks even though it is now only advisory the worst offenders the older folk. Please think of the wardens and all the extra work they do to keep us safe and the site open .

Nice Site

Been here before so we knew what we were getting. Lovely site and again with high standards for toilets etc. Peterborough is a bus ride away but….as far as we are concerned not worth the bus ride, it’s a bit run down. Wardens were nice and friendly and pitches very good, if back in this area we would defo use this site again.

Lovely site but attitude of warden is poor

We have been visiting this site for several years but our most recent visit was dampened by the attitude of the warden. I say warden but I think he views himself as a sergeant major! When addressing children he was very authoritarian and insisted that they address him as ‘yes sir’.I am all for children having respect and addressing their elders and in fact anyone with respect but this shouldn’t be demanded in such a forceful way. Communication should be a two-way process but the warden was unwilling to discuss and preferred to bark orders. This actually resulted in a number of children being fearful and is not something you expect from a warden. From reading reviews on other forums we are not alone in our view and is something that should be addressed.

Down Hill Trend

we have stayed many times on this site over the years, the previous wardens Allan and his wife kept the site absolutely immaculate. We were very disappointed throughout the 2 week with the recent stay on site. The grass was extremely overgrown and the same with the hedges. The fresh water tap was hanging off on the service point for a fortnight. In general the whole of the site was scruffy compared to the standards in the past. We don't expect to hear grass cutting etc machinery being used during the week due to it being a week end break for people, but we hardly heard any machinery at all being used during the week. Some of the staff were not particular sociable either.
