Still a lovely site

Not been here for 18 months as the last wardens were realy rude and blamed us for breaking the intercom system as you come in , they looked on the CCTV and found it was someone else no apology though , it was nice to visit again and a change of wardens who were very friendly , the toilets were spotless , the site tidy , lovely walks from the site spoilt for choice , now the wardens have changed we will be back .

Second visit this year and has everything we need

A nice site in a good location. Nothing particularly outstanding, but nothing to complain about either. Lots of facilities close by, plenty of places to go and things to do. Generally agree with most of the reviews although the negative ones are maybe a little over critical. Friendly wardens and a well kept site. Hardstanding on the West side much better in winter conditions. Will definitely return.

A really well located site with lots to do nearby.

This is a very well located site, being near the country park yet also close to Peterborough centre. A good range of dog walks is available straight from the site. The wardens were especially helpful and friendly - well done! The only real negative (reflected in the loss of some stars above) was the extremely poor wifi service. Good wifi is really something that should be taken as read nowadays, particularly as it is a paid-for provision. Please, please can this be addressed.

Services review

A regular visitor here and all services / facilities were to standard, apart from WiFi. I called AirAngels 3 times after being told that 3 masts were not working and that I should check with the warden that the masts were switched on and powered up. Did this but still no WiFi service on pitch 81. A bit galling after renewing my AirAngel subs of £30 for the year.

Great site.

Just had a four day midweek break at Ferry Meadows. One of our favourite sites. Everything on your doorstep. Great walks in the Nene Park, especially this time of year with the autumn colours. It’s a pity the club can’t do something about security for members bicycles as we would love to bring ours and explore the miles of traffic free cycle paths. Clumber Park site has a great facility so it can be done.

Back after a three year hiatus

Decided to come back after our disastrous visit three years ago when we were treated so badly by the wardens that we vowed never to come back. We learnt a few months back that the wardens have been moved on and that new ones have taken over the site. So we are here and what’s the verdict. Well the wardens seem a lot more friendly and don’t seem to ride around on the lawn mower all day. The site is well kept and the walks around Nene Park are FAB. Would we come back ? Yes we would providing that the CAMC don’t let the precious wardens back.

No Customer service

Lacking in maintenance ,Toilet holders not secure .sanitary dispensers at water points empty . Staff need refresher course on customer service and not gang up on the customer .value for money certainly not .

Great location for cycling and walks

Whenever we told friends we were off to Peterborough they asked ‘why?’ We chose Ferry Meadows for location, great road connection with no tiny lanes and the cycling looked flat-ish. Always a bonus! The site was perfect for our trip and the wardens were fab!! Our tiny gripe would be the ice cream van that drives around both sites on either side of the road, playing it’s merry tune each evening. It drives around the entire site singing it’s jolly, high pitched and ear piercing tune. It stops to sell an ice cream then moves on, musically reminding the entire site it is STILL there…. Before it stops after 10 meters again to serve the next customer. We’ve been on several sites where food vans come but none where this happens every day and for quite so long. They usual drive a circuit then park up at the entrance for people to go and buy what it is they want. It actually reads fairly petty now I’m saying it but the truth is, this spoiled what would otherwise have been a 5 ‘tick’ stay for us….

Return visit

Return visit, on arrival was met by a team member who informed us in a brusque manner we were early. I pointed out our Email which stated 12 midday, he told us it was wrong we would have to wait. There was another motorhome in front so it was not only us who had incorrect information. Within minutes other outfits had arrived. Otherwise our stay was super even though we moved from the East to the West side. Despite the team efforts to clean the facilities children had been showering, the floors were soaked on two occasions. Generally they were left untidy. The door lock was not working or had been left open so this may have been the problem. Once we were over on the west side everything improved so relieved to have moved. Great site in good location for enjoying Nene Valley, so much to do. We shall be back, thank you all at Ferry Meadows.

Another Weekend at Ferry Meadows

We decided on another weekend here was needed after the better half got her rota for work. Booking in was easy and we were made aware that the site would be full on the Friday and Saturday of our stay, I decided to stay on the main side of the site this time rather than the "dark side" as we had that option, Staff were their normal professional and social selves and a credit to the club I cycled out to Stamford on the Friday while the better half enjoyed the sunshine on our plot 93 which was bathed in sun. We had lunch at the Beefeater pub on the Saturday when our daughter and boyfriend came up to visit, it was okay but it is a Chain pub. Site was quiet and the Steam Railway ran at the weekend which is a nice thing if you want to travel on the train. We'll be back but not until later in 2022 as we have other sites booked for 2021 and to Summer 2022. Only Gripes..... Speed on site and those who get to site early, walk around to check out vacant pitches and pop a "Reserved or Motorhome here" sign out....before they have paid and booked in....seems to be getting more commonplace this year
