Our first impression wasn't good when we could hear the French couple ahead of us booking in and being treated with little respect. They were in two vans with several children but the receptionist had them convinced that they needed to pay significantly more for the second van then in passing (far quicker than they could understand) he mentioned that they should have added the wife to the membership. They told him they were leaving to go into Inverness later and it was their first time on a club site. We went next and told him the same thing. He told us (and them) to go round the site, choose a pitch and then go back and tell him the number and he would give us a key card with the pitch number on it. We did this and then went off site. When we came back our pitch was taken by someone else. We saw the same receptionist and he told us it was our fault, we should have left our table and chairs out or connected our electric cable to the socket and left it trailing to pitch (which is totally bizarre to leave a live cable lying on the ground). We had to choose another pitch. Other staff came over and laughed that this often happens with new members who have motorhomes and that the club is very different to normal campsites. The whole system seems very bizarre but there is no excuse for the receptionist to not inform members when they book in when he knows they have a motorhome and it is their first time staying at a club site. The showers were not the cleanest and the chemical toilet area was disgusting (we left it clean after using it). Overall the site is fine but the staff left a lot to be desired.
Great for the NC500
We stayed for one night ahead of our NC500 road trip. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Considering it is summer (and Scottish school holidays), the campsite was very quiet and we had plenty of pitches to choose from. They have a dog walk on site which is a gorgeous walk in the forestry that you can let your dogs off the lead if you wish. Site is nearby to Inverness airport but this is not very loud anyway, and the planes stop at 11pm so this did not interrupt any sleep. It is surprisingly quiet considering that it's near a main road. There's also a large car park for if you have anyone visiting you (we had a relative come and visit and this was very easy to do).

Start of NC500.
We were intending to do the NC500, and our start point was this site. The staff were very helpful and showed use a range of maps, guides and insect sprays that might be useful. We stayed three nights in order to see the area and look around Inverness. The site was very good.

Brilliant site - highly recommended!
The check in was very friendly and helpful and the staff was brilliant. Lovely and large pitches, immaculate site and very peaceful! We were very lucky that it wasnt fully booked which made it even more relaxing for us but we will definitely be back!
Lovely site with friendly staff
Lovely site with friendly staff. Facilities are very clean and tidy. We used the local bus to visit Inverness which is a lovely city to explore. We would thoroughly recommend this site and look forward to staying there again in the future.

Fabulous site
Just stayed 4 nights here-the reception from Sarah and Joe was friendly and efficient..What a lovely couple. The site was well laid out, well maintained and tidy..
Even though it was Jublilee weekend we were able to travel by bus from just outside the site - No 2 - into the city. The people are so friendly and the bus driver even volunteered to drop us back to the site entrance on our return journey..Inverness is a pretty place with the lovely walks along the river, and a plethora of eating venues..the castle is shut at the moment -june2022-for renovation work.
Plenty of places to visit nearby. We went to Fort Augustus and found a fantastic restaurant The Boathouse..worth a visit..View overlooking Loch Ness from the dining area and the Salmon fillet was mouth watering....10/10.

Site could be better
Spent a few days at Culloden Moor in May whilst touring Scotland, entrance could be signed better, had to queue to get in, was aware sit wasn’t level but some effort had been made to level some pitches whereas others could have been made level easily but had been left with various degree and directions of slope. Grass area for tents was on a slope.
Facilities were ok and clean. Few nice walks around site and Culloden Moor battle field not far from site.
Great site & location
Great site overall, very peaceful and remote so perfect for the start and end of our NC500 trip.
Most hardstading pitches aren’t level and some really aren’t acceptable, especially down towards the tent pitch & childrens play area. We travel in a small VW campervan so don’t have the luxury of being able to carry levelling ramps. We saw motorhomes with ramps that still weren’t level, so be aware of this when booking.
I’m not sure why some of the roads on site are now permanently fenced off, forcing you to drive around the entire of the site when trying to access or leave your pitch. It seems really odd and just adds to unnecessary traffic around the site when the existing layout appeared to work well.
Similarly, to the new fences are in weird positions and unless you walk in the opposite direction to the toilets / showers and dishwashing areas, to then walk back on yourself through a gap, you need to cut across a grass area which makes no sense when the original path has been fenced off.
I’m sure there’s a reason for the added fences and layout but it made no sense to us and was quite frustrating when carrying the washing up!
Why no WiFi?
This is a very well run, peaceful site set in beautiful countryside only six miles from the capital of the Highlands, Inverness. The wardens are very friendly and maintain the site to a very high standard. Although many pitches are sloping caravaners and motorhomers all seemed to cope easily using ramps.
On arrival the warden was very welcoming and placed great emphasis on the 5mph speed limit around the site which we found very encouraging. Despite this we noted many instances of the limit being flagrantly ignored. What more can the Club do to stop these idiots?
The complete absence of WiFi is, I feel, a distinct disadvantage and needs to be rectified. Although my smartphone gave good 4G internet access it is disappointing that I was unable to utilise my annual subscription to the Club’s WiFi.
That said this is however an excellent site and we would be happy to return despite the absence of WiFi .
A really good experience
This is a very pleasant site with helpful staff and a very high standard of cleanliness. Some of the pitches are just a bit too sloping for motorhomes, but it’s a lovely spot and ideal for setting of to or returning from the NC500. Would highly recommend it and would have no hesitation in returning.
