Fabulous little site.

We arrived late following an unavoidable delay. We rang ahead to give our ETA and the lady who answered could not have been nicer and happy to make herself available when we arrived. We had had an 11 hour 500 mile journey, and it was such a relief to pitch up and relax on such a well kept site. We have been Club members for nearly 25 years and we found Culloden Moor to be very well maintained and very clean, and with a lovely little woodland dog walk. We met all the wardens prior to our departure to embark on the NC500 the following morning, all of whom were very pleasant and helpful (recommending Smidge to keep the vicious midges they have in Scotland at bay!) We were disappointed that we did not have longer at this site, and would definitely recommend a stay here.

Stopover to visit the battlefield memorial

Great check in and arrival. Pitches good size and easy to follow 1 way system. Lovely play area if you have children and great dog walk. Good location for Inverness or a stopover on way to start/finish NC500. Lots of flower beds and well cut grass, immaculate site and toilet block with friendly wardens.

Perfect Site!

Currently staying here and it's been perfect! Really easy check in and very friendly couple helped us to pick a pitch. Thanks to Richard who helped my husband out with a spare fuse (from his personal stash!) when the fuse for our water pump blew! He has left some brand new ones in the office for you! The site is immaculate and facilities are spotlessly clean. Very pretty with all the trees surrounding it, also very quiet. All the staff have been very friendly and helpful. Really cannot find fault with anything. The location is really good with a bus stop just outside the entrance which is handy.

Appalling Receptionist and loss of pitch - your fault unfortunately!

To the reviewer who was not impressed by losing his unmarked pitch and took a dislike to the site staff - if you read the reviews left by other members about the site managers you will see that almost all can't praise them enough and I totally agree, so I am at a loss to understand why your experience of them was so totally different. If you had read the Club Rules you would know to leave something on your pitch once chosen if you are then going off site straight away to ensure no-one else takes your pitch. It makes perfect sense. The fact that you didn't do so is nothing to do with the site staff, or the lovely family who set up on what they thought was a vacant pitch as there were no signs or items left on it to say it was already taken. To then have a go at them who had not actually done anything wrong was completely unfair and unwarranted. Hopefully you have learned a valuable lesson and will perhaps now take a little time to read the terms and conditions for future reference. With regard to the chemical emptying point being 'disgusting' I have never once experienced this as all the facilities are always spotless when I have used them what ever time of day or night that may be. I'm sorry your experience wasn't great but trying to blame someone else for your mistake is unfair. Great site, great site managers and spotless facilities, everything I ask, and receive, from a Caravan and Motorhome Club site.

Appalling receptionist and loss of pitch made for a very disappointing first club site visit

Our first impression wasn't good when we could hear the French couple ahead of us booking in and being treated with little respect. They were in two vans with several children but the receptionist had them convinced that they needed to pay significantly more for the second van then in passing (far quicker than they could understand) he mentioned that they should have added the wife to the membership. They told him they were leaving to go into Inverness later and it was their first time on a club site. We went next and told him the same thing. He told us (and them) to go round the site, choose a pitch and then go back and tell him the number and he would give us a key card with the pitch number on it. We did this and then went off site. When we came back our pitch was taken by someone else. We saw the same receptionist and he told us it was our fault, we should have left our table and chairs out or connected our electric cable to the socket and left it trailing to pitch (which is totally bizarre to leave a live cable lying on the ground). We had to choose another pitch. Other staff came over and laughed that this often happens with new members who have motorhomes and that the club is very different to normal campsites. The whole system seems very bizarre but there is no excuse for the receptionist to not inform members when they book in when he knows they have a motorhome and it is their first time staying at a club site. The showers were not the cleanest and the chemical toilet area was disgusting (we left it clean after using it). Overall the site is fine but the staff left a lot to be desired.

Great for the NC500

We stayed for one night ahead of our NC500 road trip. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Considering it is summer (and Scottish school holidays), the campsite was very quiet and we had plenty of pitches to choose from. They have a dog walk on site which is a gorgeous walk in the forestry that you can let your dogs off the lead if you wish. Site is nearby to Inverness airport but this is not very loud anyway, and the planes stop at 11pm so this did not interrupt any sleep. It is surprisingly quiet considering that it's near a main road. There's also a large car park for if you have anyone visiting you (we had a relative come and visit and this was very easy to do).

Start of NC500.

We were intending to do the NC500, and our start point was this site. The staff were very helpful and showed use a range of maps, guides and insect sprays that might be useful. We stayed three nights in order to see the area and look around Inverness. The site was very good.

Lovely site with friendly staff

Lovely site with friendly staff. Facilities are very clean and tidy. We used the local bus to visit Inverness which is a lovely city to explore. We would thoroughly recommend this site and look forward to staying there again in the future.
