Great site for exploring the capital

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of October. Site was easy to find, I programmed the instructions on line into my sat nav and had no problems apart from the traffic!! The wardens were friendly and helpful on arrival and we were sited and plugged in in no time. Facilities are a bit tired but are kept clean and we have no complaints, plenty of hot water and showers were great. What makes this site is it's location. The no 3 bus service to Oxford Circus is absolutely brilliant, every 10 minutes or so and into the city centre in around 50 minutes. Crystal Palace itself is great for restaurants, cafes etc and is only 10 minutes walk from the site. We will definitely be back next year.

Great site, very convenient for the city

I love this site. Its great for visiting the city. Just 30 mins on the tube to Shoreditch so easy to get to Liverpool Street and west London if wish. The facilities are great, the walk into crystal palace is fine about 15mins. The overground train is easily accessible. Great restaurant in Crystal palace too, called The Sparrow Hawk and even takes dogs. I will definitely go again.

Space is a premium

The minute I booked this site I felt as though I was not welcome, as I only booked for one night.  I was told on the phone, you can't get on the site till 12 in a very firm voice.  We arrived at 3pm in the afternoon booked in to be told must leave by noon the next day.  We then asked if we left the pitch by noon could we park somewhere as we wouldn't be back til late afternoon.  We were told no in another very firm voice but we could park in and around a neighboring park which was free. So we had to find a space for a motor home and leave it all day in a park. I felt as though we were intruding by staying on this campsite, realise that space is a premium in London, but they did have parking spaces but clearly not for us.

Excellent site

We stayed here for a week at the end of September, ideally placed for us visiting family and the city. There is a bit of aircraft noise in the morning but ear plugs sort that. It is nearly central London so some noise is to be expected no complaints, the staff were all excellent and very helpful and friendly, will be back early next year. Just hope the club manages to renew the lease in 2017 would be a shame to loose this site. The toilets and showers are spotless but very dated we can understand the club does not want to spend money until they know where they are going with this site.

Great site for visiting London

Stayed here for two nights in October 2015. A word of warning - if you are coming from the north east (Blackwall tunnel) don't follow your satnav through Kidbrooke as there is a width restriction - oops! The site itself is a little quiet, calm, oasis in the middle of Crystal Palace. Although Crystal Palace station (on the London Overground as well as usual national rail service) was a little further to walk than I had anticipated, there are bus stops much closer so it is possible to get around quite late at night. The site itself is very clean and the facilities are good. The wardens were very helpful. Unfortunately there was a plumbing problem while I was there which meant I could not empty waste water etc. and it needed to be emptied.

Back here again.

We are back here again visiting and meeting up with family in London. We always look forward to our visit to Crystal Palace as we can meet family and visit our favourite Italian restaurant nearby. We can also go into central London easily on the bus and tube to do our hobby of Geocaching.

ENJOYABLE STAY

We've been meaning to come here for some time and finally got around to it. We had a very enjoyable stay 'doing' several sights around the area that we wanted to cross off our list. The site is very convenient for buses all around South & South East London and the No.3 leaves from close by into Central London. Crystal Palace Station is about 10-15 minutes walk away and has good connections. The site does have some aircraft noise depending on the landing direction at Heathrow or London City Airport. We certainly intend to come back and 'do' more of the area. What a pity that its future is still uncertain and it'll be a great loss if it closes.

Great club site (in Low Emission Zone)

This is a great site if your vehicle is compliant with the Low Emission Zone charge - check before you go! Helpful, friendly staff, good shower/toilet/washing up facilities and right next to the park which is good for dog walking and the cafe there does a great breakfast. Obviously great for getting around London with good public transport links/options nearby. Diesel vehicles - PLEASE NOTE - the site is in the Low Emission Zone and it costs £100 a day to drive in.

Enjoyable stay.

Staff are extremely helpful and always ready to help. Despite its proximity to and easy access into the centre of London, the site is very quiet with  neighbouring parkland full of history and interesting sites.

Summer in the city

Visited this site in late June and returned early September. Site is a haven of quiet but has such easy access to city..buses just outside gates and trains just across the park.  Only one point to note, if you want to watch tv try and request a pitch away from trees.
