ENJOYABLE STAY

We've been meaning to come here for some time and finally got around to it. We had a very enjoyable stay 'doing' several sights around the area that we wanted to cross off our list. The site is very convenient for buses all around South & South East London and the No.3 leaves from close by into Central London. Crystal Palace Station is about 10-15 minutes walk away and has good connections. The site does have some aircraft noise depending on the landing direction at Heathrow or London City Airport. We certainly intend to come back and 'do' more of the area. What a pity that its future is still uncertain and it'll be a great loss if it closes.

Great club site (in Low Emission Zone)

This is a great site if your vehicle is compliant with the Low Emission Zone charge - check before you go! Helpful, friendly staff, good shower/toilet/washing up facilities and right next to the park which is good for dog walking and the cafe there does a great breakfast. Obviously great for getting around London with good public transport links/options nearby. Diesel vehicles - PLEASE NOTE - the site is in the Low Emission Zone and it costs £100 a day to drive in.

Enjoyable stay.

Staff are extremely helpful and always ready to help. Despite its proximity to and easy access into the centre of London, the site is very quiet with  neighbouring parkland full of history and interesting sites.

Summer in the city

Visited this site in late June and returned early September. Site is a haven of quiet but has such easy access to city..buses just outside gates and trains just across the park.  Only one point to note, if you want to watch tv try and request a pitch away from trees.

Oasis in London

This is a haven in London, a quiet retreat to step away from the fast pace and relax in between amercing in the variety of attractions and culture there is to indulge in. We used the number 3 bus to go into central London, the stops are along the road outside the camp site. We found the best route driving to the site is M25 - A20 - A205 towards Catford. This was our second visit and all being well will definitely stay here again. Staff helpful and run this site to a very good standard.

Visit London

Stayed at this site end of August 2015.  A good site to visit London.  Just catch the number 3 bus on College Road (5 min walk) which takes you right into regents Street via many of the London sites.  One bit of advice sign up for an Oyster Card before you arrive and save money by just using the bus which has a daily capped charge of £4.40 no matter how many bus journeys you make.  The site is ok, a bit dated but clean and efficient. it is on a hill but the hard standing are level. Make sure you research your route in especially if towing.  I came in from the M40 and was ok but some tight spots especially when my sat nav told me to make a turn (what you must be joking?) and watch out for cyclists who buzz in and out of lanes. I would not recommend that route to someone who is not used to traffic and tight spots. I left the site via Catford out the gate turn left then have to cross three lanes to a roundabout and do a 180 degree turn to the M20 South which was ok. Only managed to get blasted with one horn...not bad for London when towing. Speak to the wardens they have some maps printed off to help.  The Wifi could be better but I believe the BBC mast may be affecting the signal.  I would use this site again for London but would come in a different route.

Our stopover .We needed to visit central London from the south coast for a meeting .

We needed to get to London for a meeting mid week from the south coast . Although usually booked up we managed to book two nights on line . After our meeting in London which was reached by the number 3 bus with an Oyster card in an hour we then carried on with our hobby of Geocaching . We also use this site to visit family in London or them to visit us and eat at the wonderful selection of restaurants in Crystal Palace .
