A quick stopover

We stayed for one night and have to thank the wardens for being so accommodating about our early arrival. We had to be at a family party and we cannot thank them enough for their help when they were busy with other jobs they had to do. A bit of aircraft noise but this would not stop us visiting again, we were not there long enough to look at facilities for children but site in good position for London tourist spots and theatres.

Windy night!

After a 5 hour drive from the West Country, it was nice to be welcomed by a lovely Welch lady. Love this site. Only got in as someone cancelled at the last minute. Very quick ThamesLink train to St. Pancras Int' from Sydenham Hill. 5 stars all round!

Great location for London

It was our first visit last weekend for the Good food show. We love London and visit at least once a year but usually Hotel & rail. We were thrilled at how close and easy this site is for access to the centre. The no3 bus is so frequent. We tended to hop off & on at Brixton and tube it from there for extra speed. But it's easy enough to stay on the bus to the centre. We will definitely be back.

Garden of Eden in London

London is a very busy overpriced tourist a traction,  but we love going there every once or twice a year. Crystal palace is our Base every time because of its convenience. the site is mostly quiet with the odd noise from crystal palace park, the facilities are good and the Toilet and showers are clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful when you need them. It isn't a place for children to come as a holiday because there isn't anything to do, but if you use it as a Base to take them into London town then it's ideal. We are now looking forward to our next stay here.

Convenient for London /central

We had 3 nights last week at this site. I do hope the caravan club can hang on to this site as it so well placed for access to central London. We managed to take in 2 shows which were amazing and to look up some family history stuff. The number 3 bus takes you right into London and we got off at Tralfagar Square each day. In the information room you will find slips of paper explaining directions to various tourist attractions and which bus/train to catch. Very helpful staff and all so clean and tidy and well organised. Many thanks.

excellent site

Crystal Palace site is very well placed for central London with buses every ten minutes to Regent Street. The site staff are very helpful. Our request for a pitch near the toilet block was met as it has been when we've stayed before. The facilities are very clean and adequate with good level pitches. Well worth staying if a visit to London is desired.

Crystal Palace stay

We stayed at the site for 7 nights last week and had a great time with the site being well placed for visiting London.  Bus number 3 was great and met all our transport needs, a short 10 min walk to the bus stop from the site which takes you into the centre and Piccadilly Circus.  Buses were very frequent and we paid £3 for the return trip each using contactless payment cards.  Shops and restaurants in Crystal Palace itself were very good too and the recommended Italian was fantastic. Site staff were very friendly and helpful, pitch allocated when we arrived which worked well, and shower/toilet block was clean and tidy although getting a little tired and warn but this may be due to reduced spend as I think there is uncertainty re retaining the site lease over the coming years. We really enjoyed our stay and I hope the Caravan Club can hang onto the site as its a great way for members and families to visit our capital city.

Great site,location,staff however..

This was our third trip to this site, we love the access it gives us to central London. As always the site and toilet block were excellent, however we decided to use the caravan club WiFi. I paid the £10 for a 7 day pass and logged on. We were about 15m from one of the wifi aerials so signal strength was spot on but the download speeds seemed slow. I checked with two different checkers to discover I was downloading at 0.3 Mbps and uploading at 0.01mbps. When I checked with the wardens I was told the best I could expect was 1mbps but if someone was downloading a film it would be less. They advised me to contact their supplier direct. I did so the following day and an engineer would look into it and get back to me. During our stay it never improved taking at times 20 minuets to download one page. I won't be wasting my money again with the wifi but will be staying at this beautiful site again
