Beautiful quiet site

We have just returned from this site. We had an accident not 300yds from the entrance and so limped onto the overnight stay area. As we were worried about moving the van, the Wardens let us stay there until we were recovered 3 days later. They could not have been more helpful - nothing too much trouble. They even contacted us regarding the van after we had left. Thankyou so much! The site is a hidden gem..so lovely yet so close to the city centre.

Great site in a great location

Just returned home after a fantastic 5 night (it was supposed to be 4 nights, but decided to stay an extra night) stay at this site. The park is really good, with excellent facilities, and the location is brilliant. Crystal Palace is an easy walk with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants, and the park is nice to wander around. And just around the corner are a number of bus stops, one of which is for the number 3 bus that takes you central London.

Best Location Ever!

The site is hidden away within Crystal Palace Park where one of the corners of the Crystal Palace used to be. the site is terraced wooded and you could be in the country. some of the levels are quite a steep walk way from the showers. the toilet and shower block could do with with an upgrade but is perfectly adequate. the warden team are helpful and welcoming even when you mess up your booking like I did! the centre of London can be reached by bus number 3 from very near the site entrance. the journey usually takes an hour to piccadilly circus depending on traffic and changing drivers. you can also walk accross the park to Crystal Palace overground train but we only used the buses and paid using a contactless debit card (no need to buy an oyster card and pay £5 for it) the debit/credit card is only charged £4.40 no matter how many buses you travel on in a day. There is rumor that this site may close - if it does it will be a great loss to the caravan club and its members. a great site for any memeber but there are no play facilities or dog walk but Crystal Palace park can be acccesd directly from the site with all these facilities and more. I cant recomend this site highly enough

A haven in the metropolis

This was the third time we have visited and stayed at the Crystal Palace site. We love it there so easy to get into the middle of London in half an hour. We have had two stays in the summer and this, our third, in November. At all of these times the site is so welcoming hidden away from the busy traffic. The staff are so helpful and polite and take an interest in where you have come from and the reasons for your stay. The shower and facilities block is always spotlessly clean and the showers/toilets warm in the winter. We love it and will be back for more short breaks.

A quick stopover

We stayed for one night and have to thank the wardens for being so accommodating about our early arrival. We had to be at a family party and we cannot thank them enough for their help when they were busy with other jobs they had to do. A bit of aircraft noise but this would not stop us visiting again, we were not there long enough to look at facilities for children but site in good position for London tourist spots and theatres.

Windy night!

After a 5 hour drive from the West Country, it was nice to be welcomed by a lovely Welch lady. Love this site. Only got in as someone cancelled at the last minute. Very quick ThamesLink train to St. Pancras Int' from Sydenham Hill. 5 stars all round!

Great location for London

It was our first visit last weekend for the Good food show. We love London and visit at least once a year but usually Hotel & rail. We were thrilled at how close and easy this site is for access to the centre. The no3 bus is so frequent. We tended to hop off & on at Brixton and tube it from there for extra speed. But it's easy enough to stay on the bus to the centre. We will definitely be back.

Garden of Eden in London

London is a very busy overpriced tourist a traction,  but we love going there every once or twice a year. Crystal palace is our Base every time because of its convenience. the site is mostly quiet with the odd noise from crystal palace park, the facilities are good and the Toilet and showers are clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful when you need them. It isn't a place for children to come as a holiday because there isn't anything to do, but if you use it as a Base to take them into London town then it's ideal. We are now looking forward to our next stay here.

Convenient for London /central

We had 3 nights last week at this site. I do hope the caravan club can hang on to this site as it so well placed for access to central London. We managed to take in 2 shows which were amazing and to look up some family history stuff. The number 3 bus takes you right into London and we got off at Tralfagar Square each day. In the information room you will find slips of paper explaining directions to various tourist attractions and which bus/train to catch. Very helpful staff and all so clean and tidy and well organised. Many thanks.
