Another March Visit

Well managed clean site with friendly wardens. Has takeaway small-sheet directions to main tourist attractions. Always incongruous to be outside, surrounded by trees and hearing early morning birdsong but with invisible background thrum of traffic. Had a walk round the full Park area this time discovering pools, a maze and various sculptures but not yet visited the museum (Sat & Sun only).. next time perhaps? The 3 bus with front top seats is an entertainment in itself as well as giving 5 min off route walking to around 15 attractions. Bus 363 also very useful. No real need to worry about timings as most buses seem to run around every 10 mins. Our 5th visit and never disappoints!

Lovely Crystal Palace

We love the Crystal palace site, not only for it's great location for central London via the No 3 bus, but for it's local history. The old crystal palace site itself is a vast area and is so worth a visit, especially if like us you have a dog who needs a good run. The area has lots of parkland with a maze! (Try and get out of that one!) Also a museum, open free to the public Saturdays and Sundays. The Crystal palace 'triangle' has lots of quirky shops for browsing and great traditional pubs, most of which are dog friendly. Friendly staff and clean facilities. We definitely recommend it.

Lovely quiet site, even though by main roads. Friendly staff, we had noisy family nearby and the staff sorted it and we moved to another pitch. Free bus passes means travel into London daily. Journey took over an hour to Trafalgar square interesting ride from the top front seats of the number 3 bus. Then the 29 bus to Camden market. All for free.Clean and warm shower block not too far away. We have been several times and will go back again.

Fantastic Value

I wasn't prepared for the drive through London - that was my fault. However at the end there was a warm welcome, helpful staff and clean and spacious facilities. Although I own a Motorhome I will use the showers by preference and the whole toilet block was delightfully clean and warm. Despite the London traffic I will definitely come back again.

Lovely quiet site

This is a surprisingly quiet site, clean and tidy. We used our bus passes to travel into London, but in future we will use the tube or train as it took 2 hours to get to the Tower and a Tower Bridge. We drove by car to Kew Gardens as we were there for the orchid festival. We pre booked to park on someone's drive at a cost of £6:50 for the whole day and it was directly opposite the gardens and was much quicker than using the bus.

London Winter Break

Spent 5 nights at the end of February. Great site: large roomy pitches and general feeling of spaciousness. Toilet block warm and very clean, with plentiful hot water through manually operated showers - not the timed push button annoying type. Wardens very friendly, informative and well on top of their jobs. Surprisingly easy travel for my motorhome to the site from Dartford Crossing, and of course the highlight - the site is only about 7 miles from central london with an entertaining journey through Brixton on the # 3 bus. Only negative - wifi poor - I think it is seriously affected by emissions from the Crystal Palace transmitter tower sited in the park next door.

Crystal Palace short stay.

We used this site for a short 2 day stay to see a theatre show and visit London. The site is clean and tidy and good facilities and emenity blocks were well heated for the weather for our stay early March 2016 (just above freezing). Good location not too close to the city centre (traffic) but close enough to get around easily using London Transport. Trains just 15 mins walk from the site (across Crystal Palace park) or even keeping to the roadways around the park was easy. We used overground to both Victoria and London Tower which were found to be clean and punctual. Ladies may wish to take their own hair dryers as the provided wand type in the block was considered weak by my better half!

Wonderful Facility

We spent 5 nights at Crystal Palace in February.  What a fantastic facility to have so close to London! We used our bus passes to travel free to Trafalgar Square and during our stay we visited the Tate Gallery, Somerset House, the British Museum, the Imperial War Museum, had a trip on the London Eye and a guided tour of Lords Cricket Ground as well as enjoying the surrounding parkland and shops.  It was good to return to our own accommodation at night and enjoy the comfort of this excellently managed site.  Long may it remain, it is a site worth fighting for!

Great links to London

We spent a week here. The site is well laid out so that you have few other pitches surrounding you. The short walk to Crystal Palace Park makes a lovely morning out especially if you visit the maze, farm and dinosaurs. Just down the road is the number 3 bus stop which takes you into London. Jump off at Brixton Station to get onto the tube and then you have easy access to all the sights of London. The only down point is the road noise which can be a bit annoying especially in the early morning.

LOVELY SITE

We have visited Crystal Palace site a number of times each year over quite a few years. We keep coming back as so easy to bus into London and surrounding areas. There is so much to see and do, with sights and shows, and of course places of interest. Last December we visited Westminster a trip we shall never forget, bought for us by some of our family. I have heard Crystal Palace site is closing down in a couple of years, we shall really miss going there. Thank you to all of the staff who are always helpful and welcoming.
