Still great on this visit

This is an excellent site with great links to London and Croydon as well as having good pubs and restaurants locally. The staff on site are friendly and the grounds well maintained. Also prices are brilliant for a site so close to the capital.

Top Caravan Site

I've recently enjoyed a fantastic fortnight at this wonderful Crystal Palace site!! Everything seemed perfect for me - clean and accessible facilities, extremely friendly and helpful staff, good TV & internet reception, great location for public transport to all parts of London (Red Bus no. 3 direct to Trafalgar Square and 227 direct to Bromley etc), excellent shops, restaurants & pubs in nearby Penge, and set in the most beautiful Crystal Palace Park with comprehensive National Sports Centre (£2.80 for a swim!) - and, even lovely weather for my stay :-) Very small downside on my plot was just occasional noisy evening traffic on Crystal Palace Parade. Highly recommended!!

A very pleasant surprise

Arrived at Crystal Palace site expecting it to be rather urban with not much greenery around. We were delighted, not only by the warmth of the welcome from Brian and Janet, but also their helpfulness and patience in helping us find a suitable pitch. Throughout our stay, all the wardens were very patient and extremely helpful in every way. The site itself could not be more convenient for direct (No. 3) bus into centre of London and also a pleasant walk into Crystal Palace grounds nearby. The facilities were spotless, adding to our opinion that this is an excellently run site - a must for anyone wishing to visit London for any length of time.

London based site

A good clean site and very quiet considering it is so close to the road.  We used the number 3 bus to get into central London, but as on previous reviews, it is no fun sitting on a public service bus for 2 hours each way. We were visiting the Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens, so before our visit we looked on the web to find parking spaces near to Kew, as there isn't a carpark. The website is just park.com and we managed to park in someones drive for the whole day for £6.50 and it was only 5 mins walk to Kew Garden.  Far better than travelling in on the bus. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

Virtually ideal for visiting London

Despite being adjacent to a busy road there wasn't too much road noise. Aircraft are prevalent, but seem to more or less cease late evening. The site its self is what you would expect, clean and tidy. Although we did feel it was a little cramped when busier. The location of the site is virtually perfect for visiting London. The only downside is the 45min bus ride each way. 1.5hrs on a bus, for a few days in a row starts to grate especially if you have kids. But given this is such a large city it would be unrealistic to expect anything better. Found the staff incredible friendly and helpful. So a big thank you to the staff. Expect to stay here next time we visit London.

What a great place..

What a fab site this is. We have been so many times. This time for the first time ever we we went on a river cruise to Greenwich and went to the gym at Crystal Palace TRaining centre just behind the site via payasugym website. Even though we lost our awning to storm Alice, I cannot wait to return and further explore what Syndnahm ( turn right out of the site) has to offer and if the walk becomes too much get the 220 bus back up. The number 3 bus gets you to Brixton - eat at Kricket a fanstaic Indian or carry on to central London. The wardens are also fantastic, what out for the Dart charge if it applies to you. We cannot wait to go again and explore more. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did. Can't wait to get back to pitch 37...Andy and Ju.

Base for London

Good site for a base in London the number 3 bus goes past Brixton tube which in our opinion was quicker to get off there and into London on the tube. Or a drive to Greenwich takes 25 mins. Helpful staff we have stayed 3 Easters on the run one in a motorhome we hired, then when we were very very new to caravaning and this year we are still learning but the staff really had time to explain things!!

Great stay

Chose crystal palace as we wanted to visit London and family that were in the area. Clean well planned out site , lovely size pitch with spotlessly clean toilet/shower block. The wardens were so friendly and helpful, one of the guys gave us a hand to position our van as our mover wasn't working. We were given upto date information regarding storm Katy so unfortunately we had to leave a day early but got home safely and were grateful for the heads up. Thank you , we will be back x
