Short pre-Easter break

Lovely, well positioned and well kept site. Was very full, but what more would we expect?! Also quite expensive but, again, you're paying for its position in London. We booked a standard pitch with awning (as confirmed in CC email) but was told on arrival that had booked a non-awning pitch. Luckily, kind lady offered us her awning pitch and all was well. Not impressed, though..

briliant site for London

Stayed at site on 26/03/2017 for 5 nights. This has got to be one of the best sites ever for location and getting into London. If like us you are pensioners, you can get the No 3 bus outside the site and it takes you into Trafalger Square,Picadilly etc, and it costs nothing with your Bus Pass. The site is very tranquil, and there is Crystal Palace Park right next door. The site is very clean and wash/toilet block is very good indeed. If you are thinking of going to London, i highly recomend this site. There are plenty of shops and restruants just down the road within walking distance, in Crystal palace itself.

Perfect location

We stay here quite a lot when we are visiting friends in London. Although we live just outside Brighton it is more convenient to stay here than get the train home at night! Plenty of space on the pitches, always quiet and facilities clean. Could maybe do with a bit of an upgrade but that's just being picky! Bus service is great. We always use the 3 or N3 to get in to town. I hope the rumour is not true from a previous reviewer. It will be a real shame to lose this site.

Great Location!

I've stayed here a few times as its a great location for visiting London. Station is only 10 minutes walk away and Taxis from central to here are cheap if returning late. Site is clean and quiet. You sometimes forget where you are! Great mix of pitches and toilet/shower facilities are spotless. Nice and friendly wardens. No complaints!

Oasis in London

We had a lovely sunny pitch, the site was up to usual standards and the staff extra helpful. Considering how close this is to central London it is amazingly peaceful. Crystal Palace park is very convenient for stretching the legs and a bit of fresh air, also safe and interesting for grandchildren to play in when they visited. Crystal Palace village centre is a 15 minute level walk and great for restaurants especially the Italian where we got 10% discount for being at the site - excellent food too. Plenty of buses and Uber taxis worked well. We found the directions to the site a bit difficult to follow, approaching from the north. When leaving we used A212 - A205 South Circular - A102 Blackwall Tunnel and it was very easy. Will use this way when we go again.

The Best Site near London

We really enjoyed being here. I only booked for 6 days, but asked to stay for one day longer, this was arranged after the friendly warden re arranged another booking to accommodate us. I heard that this site may be taken over by the council for-- you guessed it, Another housing complex. What a great loss to the club!

Great site for London visiting

Bearing in mind how close the site is to main roads it is amazingly quiet... we've stayed in rural sites that were noisier. Huge park right next door for walks, kids to mess around in etc. Trains into London are a doddle...walk across the park (15 minutes) & hop on a train at Crystal Palace overground. (Buses are even closer... just yards away on the road). Don't even need an Oyster card to travel; just use your contactless debit card...simples.) Really liked the site; good facilities, friendly wardens. Will certainly use it again. If towing a caravan I suggest you use StreetView to decide on which direction to approach the site... lots of traffic & you do NOT want to attempt a full circle round a mini-roundabout I imagine. :) CC brochure says tv signal is poor.... wasn't for us, it was fine. - The huge tv transmitter mast itself is quite a sight, being immediately adjacent to the site.

Always a joy to visit

This is an oasis in London, tucked away in the corner of the very pretty Crystal Palace Park. There's a bus outside which takes you into the centre of London. There's a main line station in the park which connects to the tube or it's about £7 for an Uber to the tube station. The park makes it ideal for children and dogs. The staff are very friendly and are only too pleased to help when needed. The facilities are faultless. I always look forward to my visit.

Good location for visiting the sites of London

Good site for getting to the city.Bus 3 is regular. Plenty of eating places in Crystal Palace. The C.C said not to use the sat nav but we went from the south of England and it was fine. The only gripe is the sign sorry the site is small and not easy to see from the road. Once you pull in there is a big sign. They should be the other way round. We also went with friends and we're told we couldn't be next to each other because their motor home is longer than ours but there were motor homes shorter than us where they were.
