We've been caravanning for about 5 years now, and I can confidently say that these site owners were the most helpful and thoughtful we have met so far. They keep slips of paper for many tourist locations with very clear travel instructions on them. We got the bus into the city every day, feeling more confident of how to get to places, thanks to them.
They are a friendly and funny couple who aren't pushy, but clearly want their customers to enjoy themselves. They were honest that the wifi is not great before I spent money on it and they work hard keeping the place clean and tidy. It was nice to see a family atmosphere around the washing up and water points, where people chatted to each other. Whoever knew such a peaceful place existed in such a busy city? I'd like to go back.
It's what it is!
Firstly let me say I do not accept the criticisms of this site. It's for visiting London. The facilities block is only a little bit dated but it's clean, the water is hot and the toilets flush. Do we want our club wasting money updating things that work?
We went into Central London and back by the no.3 bus (out the site, go left and round past the Shell station on the other side and the traffic lights. Cross over and stop ‘W’ is a few yards down). You can use Visitor Oyster cards but we used contactless debit cards - you must each use your own card - the fare is £1.50. - don't tap out when you get off the bus. To find the stops for getting back ‘google’ London bus 3 route and a full list of stops can be found.
We went to Kew Gardens, which we highly recommend, but were aware that there is little parking available. The lovely site wardens gave me a slip of paper which had two alternatives involving either three buses or three trains. We went there by bus the first being the no.3 to Tafalgar square! The whole journey took nearly two and a half hours. We decided that whatever the cost we would return by train - tap in with contactless cards at Kew Gardens Overground to Richmond then change for Clapham Junction and lastly to Crystal Palace and only then tap out. Cost of the triple journey by rail was £2.30 and took little more than an hour!

First visit
Great for visiting London . The amount of information available on site is amazing, don't try to drive anywhere the traffic is a nightmare. Great Park next to the site good for the kids. The site is well looked after and has good sized pitches
If using the A1 and Dartford crossing put Dartford crossing into your sat nav or it will direct you to the Blackwall tunnel
Good for sightseeing in London
Great site for going into London on public transport. Staff really helpful, especially in explaining about Oyster cards and where to purchase them. Superb Italian restaurant in Crystal Palace called Lorenzo, just a short walk away from the site.
Only comment would be is that the comment not to use Sat Nav is not for getting to the site but for not coming through the centre of London.
late arrival with broken van
We stayed over Easter BH here & arrived 4 hours late with a broken van in the dark & the wardens were absolutely fabulous. They were out with miners torches assisting the driver unloading the van off a lorry, & got us on our pitch within half hour. Really supportive & understanding, for which we were extremely grateful. Many many thanks.

Great location
This is a perfect location for visiting London. The proximity of public transport services makes it easy to go in and out of London and this greatly enhanced our stay; it's always good to be able to leave the car behind. Considering location, it was relatively peaceful - the actual site is in a 'dip' which means noise levels are reasonable - we weren't troubled at all. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it for a trip to London and will likely visit again. Thank you.
GREAT LOCATION BUT POOR FACILITIES AND OVER PRICED
The Crystal Palace site is in a brilliant location for visiting London and the surrounding area but that is it. We paid £31.70 a night for two people over the Bank Holiday and what do we get. No choice of pitches. Out of date facilities although the wardens do a fantastic job they cannot compensate for such basic facilities. There are too many internal trees which restrict satellite TV reception and Wi-Fi is very erratic - we have paid for a service which we don't get. We have visited this site dozens of times and this is the first time we have been allocated a pitch which suited our needs. We have already booked for two weeks time to attend a local event but we wont be visiting again and depending on what response I get when writing to Head Office I am seriously considering resigning from the Club.

Disappointed
I sincerely hope that this site is due for refurbishment as the facilities are far below the standard we are accustomed to from club sites. I also felt the standard of cleaning was not as high as other sites. The site benefits from its easy links into London but the journey to get to it was not easy. We will not be returning

Great to visit London
Location is great for visiting london. Overland Train station is a 15 min walk through the park. The bus station is 10 mins walk. The bus stop for the No.3 bus to Westminster and central London is just out side the campsite. The No. 122 bus goes to Lewisham and the DLR.
The campsite gives all the standard requirements with very helpful staff.
Crystal Palace Park is a 5 min.walk includes a swimming pool.
