Bonfire night

Arrived 5/11/17 Left on 18/11/17 Excellent site with friendly helpful staff toilet a little old and tired but work is going to rectify this. Ideal site to visit London anywhere get London Transport app and you get all the bus information times and routes for anywhere in London, buses run every 10mins very clean as well. You can use your bus pass at anytime no restriction on times but only the buses. Plenty to do and many many places to eat, Borough Market really nice meal at reasonable price. Banana building Sky Garden excellent, but you must book is free!

Bonfire night

Great site and extremely useful location in ease of access to the city. Crystal Palace itself has great village "feel" - vibrant with lots of eateries and shops. The facilities on the well managed site, whilst spotless, are a little dated. Unlike previous reviewer, we find easiest way in from the frozen north is via Blackwall tunnel (near O2) then through Catford and Forest Hill on South Circular.

IDEAL FOR VISITING CENTRAL LONDON ATTRACTIONS

Stayed for a week at Crystal Palace club site, took a wrong turn as we arrived into central London so ended up driving through the centre of town nice view of harrods, not to mention the congestion charge I'll receive through the post so be aware. We found the easiest way to this site from the north is to cross at Kew bridge and follow the south circular road towards the site. The site itself was run by some very helpful and friendly wardens we phoned through to the site as we were going to late as we we're stuck in traffic ( 2 hours to do 8 miles ) they told us it was no problem and to call them when we arrived. Our pitch was a good size and fairly close to the shower block which although was a bit dated provided us with hot showers and good facilities, the site was very quiet in the evening and as mentioned before had great links to the city by using the number 3 bus which was a short walk from the site and ran about every 10 minutes the journey itself was about an hour in the day and around one hour 15 in the evening. We did walk into Crystal Palace which took us around 10 minutes not a great deal there, we didn't have time to visit the park next door so carnt comment on that, overall a nice site to stay run by nice wardens will probably visit again to see the sites we couldn't fit in.

Fav site

Apart from a very difficult journey through London which was my sat nav fault to try and get in and out to this, and some roadworks at the other end which made turning hard on a mini roundabout near access, this was by far the best site I visited from the club on a tour of the UK last month. The people on the site were extremely friendly and it was in a green patch in London which was beautiful and very peaceful. I very much enjoyed my stay and I wanted to feed that back. I had some problems changing some of my arrangements as well and they were extremely helpful. The facilities were good and the location was good and I enjoyed my stay very much despite some family difficulties.... Well done Crystal Palace!! Really recommended.

Great location but facilities need updating

We stay at Crystal Palace each year when visiting central London and Wimbledon as it is ideally located for train and bus services. This is a good site with a nice team of staff but the facilities are looking very tired and they are probably difficult to keep clean. The grey waste disposal point for motorhomes is hopeless, having to move a very heavy drain cover, and when you are parked discharging water you block the access road to some pitches. This site needs some money spending on it as it must be profitable given the level of occupancy and that it is a 12 month site.

Peace and quiet in the capital.

6 nights at a lovely site just a bus ride outside the capital set in wonderful surroundings. The staff are very helpful and informant about the local area, the toilets and shower blocks are spotless and clean with plenty of hot water. The pitches are a nice size but you will need rock pegs for your awnings, Crystal Palace Park is just behind the site and is a lovely place to walk and explore. Crystal Palace town center is about a 10-15 walk away with some nice pubs and restaurants. We stayed 28/7/2017 until 03/08/2017 and will returned again.

Lovely site owners

We've been caravanning for about 5 years now, and I can confidently say that these site owners were the most helpful and thoughtful we have met so far. They keep slips of paper for many tourist locations with very clear travel instructions on them. We got the bus into the city every day, feeling more confident of how to get to places, thanks to them. They are a friendly and funny couple who aren't pushy, but clearly want their customers to enjoy themselves. They were honest that the wifi is not great before I spent money on it and they work hard keeping the place clean and tidy. It was nice to see a family atmosphere around the washing up and water points, where people chatted to each other. Whoever knew such a peaceful place existed in such a busy city? I'd like to go back.

It's what it is!

Firstly let me say I do not accept the criticisms of this site. It's for visiting London. The facilities block is only a little bit dated but it's clean, the water is hot and the toilets flush. Do we want our club wasting money updating things that work? We went into Central London and back by the no.3 bus (out the site, go left and round past the Shell station on the other side and the traffic lights. Cross over and stop ‘W’ is a few yards down). You can use Visitor Oyster cards but we used contactless debit cards - you must each use your own card - the fare is £1.50. - don't tap out when you get off the bus. To find the stops for getting back ‘google’ London bus 3 route and a full list of stops can be found. We went to Kew Gardens, which we highly recommend, but were aware that there is little parking available. The lovely site wardens gave me a slip of paper which had two alternatives involving either three buses or three trains. We went there by bus the first being the no.3 to Tafalgar square! The whole journey took nearly two and a half hours. We decided that whatever the cost we would return by train - tap in with contactless cards at Kew Gardens Overground to Richmond then change for Clapham Junction and lastly to Crystal Palace and only then tap out. Cost of the triple journey by rail was £2.30 and took little more than an hour!

First visit

Great for visiting London . The amount of information available on site is amazing, don't try to drive anywhere the traffic is a nightmare. Great Park next to the site good for the kids. The site is well looked after and has good sized pitches If using the A1 and Dartford crossing put Dartford crossing into your sat nav or it will direct you to the Blackwall tunnel

Good for sightseeing in London

Great site for going into London on public transport. Staff really helpful, especially in explaining about Oyster cards and where to purchase them. Superb Italian restaurant in Crystal Palace called Lorenzo, just a short walk away from the site. Only comment would be is that the comment not to use Sat Nav is not for getting to the site but for not coming through the centre of London.
