Ideal for Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks

This site is ideally located for visiting Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks, and is very easy to get to being very close to the motorway. The pitches are nice big hardstanding with enough room for caravan, car and awning. The toilet block is large, modern and heated and there is also a modern play area for children. Overall an excellent site

Excellent access on foot & public transport to places

A very pleasant site with a very good toilet block, all maintained to a very high standard. Excellent access on foot to Cheshire Oaks designer outlet, the Coliseum shopping & entertainment complex, very big new M&S and Blue Planet Aquarium with only a short distance on a road with no path. Dining facilities very close by and frequent busses to Chester & Liverpool. All in all excellent, our only disturbance was early morning when an unidentified droning noise (possibly from the nearby electricity pylons), the very early morning road traffic on weekdays and the 0615 flight from the John Lennon airport to wake us up even with ear plugs. See my story on the website in the UK stories section HERE for more information.

Enjoyable Stay

A very well appointed site, with friendly helpful wardens. The site is well laid out with an immaculately clean toilet block. It would appear the site is subject to a drainage problem, however it did not detract from our well being. We were on pitch no. 22 and found our proprietary hook up cable would not reach the nearest electricity bollard. The grassed areas in numerous places had been disturbed by traffic manoeuvres, from the Tarmac, which is bad practice by the membership. All in all an enjoyable break.

Perfect

Fantastic welcome from reception staff. Perfect location for exploring Chester and surrounding area, great transport links to Liverpool and North Wales. The site and facilities were immaculate. One slight negative..there was a lot of excess water around the electric hook up point, so perhaps better drainage around flooded areas would be needed.

Fabulous site

We stayed for two nights as we wanted to visit Chester zoo. The site is not massive so perfect for little ones.the shower block was very clean even first thing in the morning it was still very clean. Would definitely recommend this site if you want to explore Chester or just have a relaxing weekend. Thanks for having us.

great site

the site is in a great location, the wardens and the facilitys are second to none there,s plenty to do locally there is slight noise at night from the nearby motorway so if you are a light sleeper then there may be problems at night there are local pubs that do bar meals the only problem that we found with the site (although it wasn,t on our pitch) there was considerable water around on the pitches and the drainage was very very poor But on a bright note Thank you to the wardens for keeping a good site and giving us a very enjoyable stay Sylvia & terry (Stoke On Trent)

Great Site

Just back from a visit over Easter.  Was a great site in good location for local attractions.  Friendly wardens with small shop selling essentials.  Kids loved the park and safe for them to ride round the site.  Shower blocks were best I've seen, clean, warm and showers were first class. Only minor points was some of the pitches were muddy on the corners caused by car tyres and some of the hard standing pitches had large puddles in them.  However I guess after the wet weather we have had it's not surprising.

Outstanding

We have just completed a stay at this fabulous site. We liked it so much that we re-booked while we were still there. The site itself is well appointed and superbly maintained. It has a modern facilities block in the middle of the site which is of five star standard, new, modern, clean and warm - I have never seen better. The pitches are of a generous size with good draining gravel which takes rock pegs well for your awning too. The location is excellent too - very near the Cheshire Oakes outlets for some retail therapy and of course the Zoo and city walls and hand for the races if you fancy a flutter. I cannot recommend this site highly enough, go and enjoy it.

Joy up North

Such a lovely site with excellent facilities and so clean a credit to all the staff who work there. Brilliant location for all the places you may want to visit Chester zoo, Chester, all just a few miles down the road and of coarse Liverpool and the north Wales road. Very good price for all the first rate facilities and staff very helpful with advice. An absolute joy up North.
