Excellent Site for Chester and the Wirral

Excellent Site, clean and well kept, the Wardens are very helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble, plenty to explore from the site, specially round the wirral peninsular, Handy for Chester, Cheshire Oaks, we stayed a week but will be back as so much to see and do. Scouser Caravanner

Excellent

Stayed here for a week and loved it. Great site. Very clean and tidy. Very well looked after. Very pleasant, jolly and helpful wardens. Pity one dog owner didn't clear up their several deposits left over several yards right outside the shower block entrance. Shame they left it for the warden to clean up! Other than that it was great and a credit to the CAMC and the wardens. Plenty in area to visit; Port Sunlight, Quarry Bank Mill, Ponycysyllte Aqueduct, Llangollen, New Brighton, Imperial War Museum. We'll be back.

First time to chester

We booked the site because of is proximity to Chester, as its years since I have been there. We found the site easily, was amazed at how close it was to Cheshire oaks outlet. We were able to chose the pitch we wanted and it was a lovely site, with excellent staff, who were busy all the time. The shop in reception was stored with basics not a lot of stuff but I'm sure it would meet emergencies. It was about 15 mins walk to the designer outlet and all the restaurants were available. The bus stop was at the outlet and buses were available every 15 mins to chester and Liverpool, the bus we caught went past the bowling alley, cinema, and games outlet, it called at the zoo then went onto chester. The site has a pub restaurant just down the road from the site and there are 2 further ones on the way to the outlet. Into the village of stoak, there is a canal walkway, a nature park and another excellent pub/restaurant called the Banbury arms, which I would recommend highly for food. We had an excellent few days in a lovely location, and would have lots to do, or lots of opportunities to relax. Excellent toilet and shower facilities with no extra money required. I would Definetely use again.

First Outing 2017

Besides the site being rated as 5, the weather was also very good. Good site for coast. Our small dog Molly had a great time on the Colwyn Bay sands. This is our third visit and we will visit again in future years. MFD

Great site

What a beautiful site, well maintained and convenient for so many places including the Outlet village. A little road and air traffic noise but nothing to spoil the enjoyment. We will definitely return. Well done to the wardens who were constantly out repairing grass verges caused by vehicles driving on soft ground.

Brilliant site

Stayed here on only our second trip, and all I can say it is yet another fantastic club site. The facilities were A1, and the staff excellent. Someone had made an absolute mess in the toilets and not told the warden, and all I can say was she was not a happy bunny. I hope for their sakes she didn't find out who it was, or they were done for! However, everything was put right within a few minutes. The location is excellent. Nice and quiet, but not too far from a couple of good pubs, 10 minute walk from Cheshire Oaks shopping village, and a regular bus service into Chester and Liverpool. All in all, a highly recommended site

What a cracking site

Hi just back from a 6 night stand can only praise this site , lots to see and do in area , Chester zoo well worth a visit , shops within 15 min walk and garage for that paper and fuel. Assistant wardens were on the ball early Sunday morning cleaning up what could only be described as an awful mess in one of the vents cubicles (totally disgusted in what some people would have left ) . Have to agree with comments left by others that the staff in the rake pub seem happiest if they are chating with friends and playing on phones rather than doing the job of serving people, nice one thanks

2017 first shakedown outing.

Excellent site. Friendly wardens keep site lovely. Great position for visiting the area, Chester / Liverpool or even Northern Wales... The Anderton Boat Lift is worth a trip out too. A very small Vehicle Road noise from M56 for those with sensitive hearing. Harvester on Main Road is recommended. The Rake next door is OK but could do with improvement in staff.
