Just got home after spending two nights at this site and wanted to review it straightaway. It was such a lovely site tucked away but in beautiful surroundings.
Walked to Buxton and back which was nearer than we expected. Noticed quite a few on site made use of the local taxi which picks up and drops off at the site.
The facilities are being updated during the winter which will make it even more popular but I'll definitely try to get a pitch when I can.
Pitches were all a good size and as you expect with club sites well maintained.
Quiet relaxing break
Buxton in the school holidays, not as busy as I expected, clean, friendly and cosy. Trips out were very busy, no where to park in Matlock Bath which was a pity. Good for walkers right offsite into the woods or up to the tower. Site is hilly if disabled if not next to the toilet block. Totally recommend.
Our Family Stay
This is a perfect place to stay in beautiful surroundings.
Lots of walks from the site filled with nature, our children loved the sheep and walking to Solomons temple through the field of cows.
Our dog also throughly enjoyed himself but needed a good bath when we got home!
The planes coming into Manchester are visible on a clear day, it's a really good spot for plane watching.
At night our children gazed up in amazement at the stars while we roasted marshmallows and watched the bats.
The toilets and showers are clean and the reception sells ice cream and essentials.
For children they have a little playground but even in the main holidays this was quiet during our stay.
We had such a wonderful time and didn't want to leave as there's so much to do in the area and so relaxing. We found everyone to be so friendly and a genuinely good atmosphere.
Recommend Pooles cavern nearby, not to be missed!
Gem in the Peaks
Been twice to this site and thoroughly enjoyed both. Its so secluded in the middle of beautiful countryside and only being a stone's throw away from Buxton. The toilets always seem clean all the time my only gripe is the shower pressure(or lack of it), the water just trickles out, making shower time a lot longer and makes you catch your arm/shoulder on the hot pipe trying to get under the water. The staff are very friendly and funny at times some of the best I've come across at CMC.
We stayed for three nights in some of the heaviest rainstorms but still enjoyed the stay walking to and around Buxton and back and generally enjoying the countryside with our dog, a good night's sleep guaranteed. If you want a peaceful country break then look no further.
Peaceful and friendly site!
A lovely site, set at the heart of the Park District. Friendly wardens and a nice selection of large well maintained pitches. Pleasantly surprised how quiet this site was even in the summer holidays, safe and friendly for the children. Good walking around the area, and Buxton close at hand for all amenities. Yes the toilet block is a little dated compared to other club sites, but we noticed the planning application notice for a new block, so fingers crossed it gets the go ahead.
facilities
just returned from spending a week at Buxton. Have stayed on many caravan club sites, and was very disappointed at the standard of the facilities, they were very dated and this made them feel un- clean. even though the facilities were cleaned daily. the staff do a fab job and work very hard. The site is lovely and peaceful just in need of a up date.

We truly love this site very relaxing and certainly well kept
From the moment we arrived to when we left after 10 days we could not fault this site at all. The wardens were extremely helpful and polite and the site was spotless in every aspect. Its location for walks and cycle rides is second to none and you can easily walk into Buxton from the site. Would we go again absolutely yes, thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable and unforgettable.

The weather at Buxton!
Just spent a week at Buxton which unfortunately, was wet for at least 3 days last week. The site was plovely when the sun shone and mostly quiet with the exception of noise from the car park next door. The noise was from some inconsiderate people with loud cars and motorbikes. The facilities could really use a a makeover but the wardens do a great job with what they have. Well done!

Lovely quiet site
A lovely quiet site ideally positioned for exploring the Peak District. The staff were welcoming and the facilities very clean. The only problem that we had was emptying the grey water tanks on our motorhome. Our main tank is centrally located and to position this over the drain was vey difficult and required us to lift the cover and park our motorhome in the main site road. Some sites now have the "cattle grid" type of drain which are much easier to use.
Excellent friendly wardens
We came here as a surprise Father's Day and to celebrate my husbands birthday. I spoke to The lady warden (sorry I don't know her name) and explained that my husbands son was coming as a surprise visit on Saturday but as the phone signal was poor I didn't know if he would be able to ring me on arrival, the warden arranged to let him through and onto our pitch as a surpise. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his surpise and we had an excellent weekend. Would definitely return, the wardens were spot on and very friendly and helpful. Thanks to them for making our weekend.
