Recently stayed here and what a great place, I've never seen it so full.
Love the changes, more modern looks, so clean, love the recycled plastic fences.
Just a couple of things that the club management may wish to consider,
The waste disposal in the main block (flush tank) fires back towards you.
The new doors are very nice but even at my young age found them to be very heavy (washup room) so the older members may find them harder to open.
I'm surprised at the push buttons in the WC, these too are hard to push and the disabled have the same system. Why did you not go for the Infrared beam / hand wave system. Apart from easy to use more hygienic.
The same with the sink taps as I have often gone in toilet blocks to find that the taps have been left open.
But don't get me wrong fantastic site and will be back, just think about your next site development and those with less ability/strength.
Back to Buxton
It's lovely to be back at this first class site , the refurbishment puts Buxton firmly in top spot of our local sites list in fact we prefer it to Chatsworth .
Excellent well kept site with generous size pitches we normally use an awning H/S pitch but this time we had a full week on the new service pitches .
With loads to do in & see around the Buxton area ..... it's a great site for everyone .
Excellent on-site wardens too , provide that 5* service .
Great site
Really enjoyed our five nights over the bank holiday weekend, although the site was full it still felt roomy. Every thing was spotless and new after the refurbishment. There are plenty of places to visit in the area, and plenty of good walks, also great for dogs. I would definitely recommend the site and probably return soon.
Excellent!
What an excellent site! We stayed over a busy bank holiday weekend and we couldn’t really fault it. The facilities were spotless, the pitches were very good and the staff were really friendly. It was also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. The only thing that let the site down for us was the lack of a play area. The children really missed having a park or shared space where they could play and make new friends (like they have done on numerous other CC sites). If you don’t mind this, we’d highly recommend this site.

Lovely site but why remove the play area ?
Just stayed here for the week. We booked a while back knowing it was being refurbished and was happy with that. We book our sites based on things to do for our 8 year old daughter. So when we booked this had a play area, when we arrived the play area had gone. At no point did I get any email or phone call to say this had been changed. There is literally nothing here for kids at all. There is nowhere for them to play and meet friends so they're all just up and down the roads on scooters. It's such a shame. The phone signal is also rubbish and the Wi-Fi I paid for didn't work either. Couldn't even get basic Google maps up to find things to do in the area. The site was beautiful but the money could have been better spent. A play area is needed.
Stunning
Stunning is the best description for this site, we arrived on the day it opened. The refurbishment is first class, good pitches, roadway and the toilet bloc hotel standard. The showers are powerful, the water temperature adjustable and cubicles roomy. Yes there is no play area but the children there did not appear bored. There is plenty of room for them to run (and cycle) around. They do not bother me but I wish dog owners would take their pets off site to walk, to many just walked around the site instead of going any further. It is unplesant to sit eating whilst a dog owner allows his pet to defecate on the grass outside your unit! There are plenty of walks off site in the country park so I do not feel there is any excuse!!.
Not our first visit to this site and it most certainly will not be our last. We love the area and Buxton is well preserved but not old fashioned. Well done CAMC.

Like a brand new site but why nothing for kids to do
We spent this weekend at the newly refurbished Buxton site just a day after it re-opened after a massive refurb. Everything is brand new, every pitch, road, all the facilities. Usual very high standard and friendly wardens. All the pitches seem new but maybe a tiny bit more expense could have made them level. Many seem just a little sloping when a wheelbarrow more material could have levelled them. The big loss however is the play area. It is a long time since our children came caravanning with us but there were a lot of children there weekend with nowhere for them to congregate and play, so instead they congregate in the woods, around the taps, in and out of the rows of vans. I don't blame the kids and I love to see them play but please consider making somewhere for them. Other wise first class site.
Relaxing
Just spent 4 days here after 4 days at Kendal club site, how can two sites be so different! So open and light yet your down at the bottom of a quarry, site is immaculately kept even the dated toilet blocks. The water pressure in the showers I think is really in need of looking at when they get their makeover. Love the fact that there were so many dog waste bins around the site. Lovely walks from the site and Buxton town is a lovely place to visit, very traditional ( loads of charity shops) very peaceful and relaxing will come again.
A HIDDEN GEM
I HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM MY 1ST VISIT TO THIS SITE
I Had a weekend 2 night stay and enjoyed every minute of it
from check in the wardens were very helpful and friendly
the site layout is fabulous no tv antenna required as there is plug in points
we managed to get sited next to the water points but there are plenty around the site
facilities are great usual club standards
the scenery around the site is breathtaking
loads to do off site loads of amazing walks just off the site as it is situated in a country park
just a short walk to solomons temple and just a 25 mins walk into buxton it self
loads to do around for adults and children in the area with a go ape facility and pooles cavern just 20mins walk
the site it self has the best childrens play area I have seen so far on a club site
also lots of other places nearby you could visit in the area by car
looking forward to booking a longer stay next year cant wait
Lovely site for visiting the area
Stayed recently for a visit to the Chatsworth show. The site is lovely set in an disused quarry, well spaced out pitches. The facilities are very clean and staff friendly and helpful. It is a good base for seeing the area and upon return to site it was quiet and relaxing. Good dog walks outside of the site. Would definitely revisit really enjoyed it.
