Delightful Site

Just had a two night stay at this delightful site, The lovely warm and informative welcome I received from the wardens, was just the start of a perfect stay. Will definitely be returning.

Great Local Site

Great site to relax with the dogs, great park, friendly staff. Pub does decent pub grub and only a short way from site, another pub a little further on. Always been very clean and well managed. Staff very pleasant and helpful. East Lands railway runs across the bottom of the site and even if you are not a train enthusiast it is nice to watch them go past. Well done site staff.

Excellent site...once you’re in!

This was our second visit to this lovely site. It is only a few miles from our home and we have used it twice now as our first outing of the year to take the caravan out of storage and make sure it is water-tight and ship-shape for the season ahead. It is a lovely site, very well maintained and with a spotless toilet block. There is a lovely park to walk the dog just beside the site as well as the charming East Lancs Railway with it’s steam trains chugging by at weekends and holidays. My only problem was this - and I’m sure I’m not the only one to have experienced this. As it is close to home I was travelling to work from the site and heading back late at night. I had the pass card to tap myself back in to the site. Firstly, the sensor pad is on the passenger’s side of the car so any driver on their own has to get out and run round to open the barrier. Fine, but please allow sufficient time for the driver to then get back round to the rhs of the car and behind the wheel again before the barrier drops! I tried 3 times and, although I’m no athlete, I didn’t even come close! I’m sure this is something that could be simply rectified. I had to call my wife in our caravan for her to come and tap the sensor with the card to allow me to drive in. A silly situation which was the only “tutting” moment of our stay at this lovely site. We will be back but it is something that can surely be rectified.

Good trip to Burrs Park

Enjoyed 5 nights in February, been many times before and we are always pleased with our stay. Toilet block always clean and tidy, I agree with previous review about some people leaving the ladies showers in a mess, it doesn't take 2 minutes to clean up after your shower. The train station is great, we enjoy watching the trains pass the site. It's a must to go on Bury market, lots of other good shops there too. Manchester easy to get to on the Metrolink from Bury. Ramsbottom and Summerseat garden centre are worth a visit.

Some people.......

Beautifully kept site with charming wardens, however, a few of the female guests obviously didn't know what a mop is for. On three successive evenings going in for a shower I had to clean the floors in the cubicles before I used them. Big, dirty footprints and wet floors left behind in four cubicles by the previous occupants and another one left covered with dried in talcum powder. Lazy and inconsiderate individuals - thankfully in the minority but annoying nevertheless.

Super site for everyone

Immaculately kept site, superb area with lots of good things to do whether you want peace and quiet or a bit more action. The greatest thrill for us is the East Lancashire Railway with the diesel and steam trains. There is now a station at Burrs which is very handy and you don't have to get the car out. We live not too far from the site and have been several times. The staff have always been great with lovely welcome everyone. The only one niggle we had was last weekend when a warden came to us on Sunday afternoon saying he thought we should have departed the site. He asked to see our receipt which confirmed we had paid for four nights so to leave on Monday. He said he would go back to the office to check but never came back to let us know but it won't put us off visiting again.

Terrific Site for Christmas, fantastic for dog walks and steam trains

We stayed at Burrs for Christmas 2017, it was our first visit to the site and we were delighted with it. The site is really well planned and a great location. We went for a serviced pitch and this was excellent with great TV reception and all facilities ideally located. We chose a pitch that backed on to the railway line, which was an absolute delight to have the steam trains going past. It was a fantastic sight when it was going dark and the diesels stopping at the nearby stop was an opportunity that we will make use of when we return. The facilities were all well kept and the wardens very helpful, with some useful suggestions for walks and also when we needed to find a shop to buy some extra dog towels. The local Tesco superstore was an enjoyable 1/2 hour walk away. We went with our dog and the country park was great for walks, lovely and enclosed with lots of other dogs around and a fun Santa run on the Sunday Christmas Eve morning. The only downside of our trip was nothing to do with the site, but merely the weather which was rather wet, hence the extra dog towels. We will definitely return to the site and make more use of the walks when the weather is a bit kinder! Of particular note is the Brown Cow Pub, it's just outside the site, opposite the park entrance. The staff were very helpful to us, as we had only recent adopted our rescue dog and she's quite nervous so they were terrific in reserving us a corner table when we ate there on Christmas Eve. The menu and service were great and we will definitely be going there again when we next stay at Burrs Country Park. Overall a lovely site for a relaxing and very enjoyable Christmas, we will definitely be back.

Burrs Country Park C&M Site

Stayed here for a night on the 29th December in our campervan, We have stayed here before & find it's a real gem. There has been some improvements mainly the addition of a few more serviced pitches since our last visit, The staff are always friendly & helpful & for us it serves as a great base to visit Bury Market at the Weekend. There is an excellent pub literally 2 minutes from the site which serves great food & has a really Good atmosphere. All in all 5 STARS.

A Great Site & Fantastic Staff

Burrs is a great site with lovely friendly staff who keep the whole place spotlessly clean. It’s ideal for dog owners as the off site walks are varied and very close to the site entrance. Nearby is Bury market and shops as well as the steam railway. Easy access to Manchester by car or by tram from Bury town centre.

Burrs Country Park review

This is not the type of site that we generally like to stay at but regardless of that it is a very clean and tidy site with excellent facilities. The steam train passes directly past the site and it is a bit noisy but we didn't mind this; it stops late afternoon and we liked the nostalgia rush! Unfortunately we didn't have time to take the trip on board it. The country park itself is nice but when we visited in early December there was a lot of rubbish about following the rivers in flood, which was a shame. The park itself (not the club site) was quite untidy in places with litter, where the paths are less trod. This will need tidying up for when things pick up next year. We won't go back as we have a preference for small sites and CLs but we have no complaints at all about our three days there.
