Stunning views

Bunree has stunning views across Loch Linnhe, especially if you're lucky enough to secure one of the loch side pitches. Bunree is great place for families wanting to get a taste of the Highlands, and it makes a great base from which to explore all that Lochaber has to offer; if you get chance take the Corran ferry and head off to Ardnamurchan Point, the most westerly mainland point in the UK. When we made a stopover there in late July this year on our way back from Sutherland and Caithness we did find the place rather overrun by dogs and children on bikes, which made a trip to the toilet block rather interesting at times!

Wonderful location

We used this site as a stop-over on a longer journey but it would have been worth staying there for the location itself. Fantastic views and excellent walks from the site to the nearby waterfalls and the opportunity to successfully observe red squirrels. Facilities both clean and good. Welcoming and friendly wardens. Would definitely want to stay again.

Pleasant surprise

We stayed one night only and it was our first time there. We had a pleasant surprise when we saw the site, it was lovely and open, sitting on the edge of the loch, yet in a very sheltered spot among the hills. Although we were not on the loch front we still had a nice view of it. The site was very clean and tidy, toilets and showers were clean, although a little dated. Wardens were friendly and there seemed to be plenty of them. It is also a very private site, which lies at the end of a narrow lane, away from the main road. We will definitely visit this site again. If I had one concern it would the small children playing around on bicycles. I know the roads are 5 mph but children are not aware when a car or motorhome is reversing off a pitch. I would prefer if all club sites used their spare grassy area in the middle to make a track for children to cycle safely on, away from the site roads.

Breathtaking

We stayed here for two nights.  We enjoyed every minute even though the weather wasn't the best. The scenery and outlook from our motorhome was nothing less than amazing.  The staff were very helpful, kind and friendly.  There's a local eatery that is within easy walking distance and very nice but no shop within easy reach for those without a car.  We did cycle the distance to the nearest shop but the road was very busy so we wouldn't really advise it.  We will definitely go back though to explore the area more thoroughly and next time take more supplies.

Peace and quiet and a wonderful view

First time we have stayed at this site but it won't be the last.Only thing that could have been better was the weather , but then we didn't go to Scotland expecting to get a sun tan. Make sure you have your mossie repellent!! Good centre for touring all the lovely scenery.

Lovely Peaceful Site

This is a lovely little site if you are looking for peace & quiet or an outdoor adventure holiday. Or just to relax & let kids play on a nice safe secure site. Reception sells books for £1 or if you are swapping a book you've read its 50p.  Glencoe, Fort William etc are on your doorstep for outdoor activities & the views on the site are stunning!  There is a nice little park for the kids & a small dog walking area on the water front (but much more areas to walk dog nearby too).  The laundry & drying rooms are good.  The games room only has a pool table but gives the kids something different to do from the play park, cycling or playing card games in the caravan & its only 50p.  Toilets are kept lovely & clean.  For food supplies etc, Fort William is only 15 mins drive, so not a problem.  The wardens were nice & friendly. We would visit this site again.

Spectacular Location

My husband and I and our two dogs have just returned from a 4 night break stay at this lovely site. Although we had atrocious weather, the views made up for it as pitching alongside the loch, we had panoramic views of the water and mountains.  The site is spotlessly clean and tidy as are the showers and the wardens are really helpful.  We had a problem with our electricity in the caravan and the warden came out during the evening in torrential rain to give us advice to rectify it.  We cannot wait to return.

Outstanding Site!

We spent three nights at Bunree and were overwhelmed by the location. The people were very friendly and helpful too. The facilities were excellent and very clean with free hot showers which you don't always find! Even though we had heavy rain, we loved staying here and will come again if we are ever in the area. Just a note for other travellers, the hard standing requires very strong tent pegs for awnings. Ours bent!
