Wonderful Site

This was our last site in Scotland, staying three nights, after fourteen days on a variety of other sites. What a beautiful location with the ever changing scenery in front of us. We were lucky enough to get our motorhome pitched beside the Loch. The wardens were pleasant, knowledgeable about the area and helpful. The site and it's facilities are well maintained considering how busy this site is. The weather was not great but that did not stop us getting out and about. We had several good walks from Kinlochleven. Parking was easy behind the Post Office in a large car park that was free. The Co-op is well supplied and the Ice Centre looks really good if you are fit enough to do the climbing walls. We had lunch at the Loch Leven Seafood Cafe. It was really good with fresh fish, shellfish and some great desserts, well worth going to. The scenery and views were stunning. The first day we walked from site to Inchtree and had good views of Red Squirrel and the surrounding countryside On the last day we drove to Glen Nevis and found some free parking. We had a really pleasant walk alongside the river with great views of the mountains, including Ben Nevis and picnicked beside the motorhome whilst surrounded by amazing views. We would certainly come back to this site again as it is ideally located for further exploration and is a well maintained site.

Fantastic 11 days away

Breathtaking journey in through Glencoe on the A82 then arriving on site with a good selection of available pitches overlooking the peaceful Loch. Barrier access and welcoming and helpful staff and a good information hut. Pitches are all good, with staff informing which can have the awning. Weather as expected in Scotland but with the facilities on site, laundry and the drying room everything was dry for the next days walking (although also used by those not prepared to pay for the driers after washing!) Excellent location for walks inc; Kinlochleven, The Pap of Glencoe, the ferry from Corran and the B884 (?) old coastal road back to the ferry took you through vast unpopulated areas and plantations, Glencoe devils staircase and the WHW are worth doing and Fort William town with a walk up Cow Hill. A magnificent walk up Ben Nevis to the halfway point and around to the CIC hut and north face, the Blackwater Dam is a must (10 miles) and of course across the road from the site to Inchee for the waterfall walk ends a fantastic 11 days away :) Ate out at the 'Lochleven seafood cafe' which was delicious, the 'potting shed cafe' in Oben was fab with their hummity pie as were the fish & chips at Fort Augustus! Dont really want to leave but work beckons!

Simply Outstanding Setting..............Just dont tell everyone!

Despite the weather being far from perfect, the views are tremendous, the setting is perfect. We stayed for 5 nights and could have stayed more its right on the shore line of Loch Lynnhie. The reception staff were excellent advising on various walks etc. If you want to pitch up and leave your motorhome or car on the site then there is quite abit within easy reach to keep even the non mountain climbing folk happy. 1. Take the bus into Fort Williiam its the number 44, If you walk up to the site entrance and take a left walk across the bridge and continue to walk along the main A82 until you get to the 'PURPLE' Bus stand this is the stop for the 44, it costs £5.20 return to fort William. 2. Walk up to the 'Corran Ferry' crossing there is a lovely New Restaurant /Coffee/Bar just opened. Take Ferry across the Loch ( Free to Pedestrians ) and there is a lovely 2 - 3 mile walk which is detailed on a map which is available front the Caravan Site office. Before you cross back on the Ferry visit the White Pub at the Ferry crossing called the ARDGOUR INN, the Steak Pie and Sticky toffee Pudding is amazing !! 3. Take the Walk up to the Inchree Waterfalls, again detailed on the Map from the site. 4. A Walk around to Onich is pleasant although the main road is busy.

One of the best we've stay at

Believe everything you hear about the views and the scenery. This is magnificent, we stayed three nights here and loved it. Must return sometime. Facilities are the usual high club standard, staff really friendly. Some nice walks doable from site. Being early in the season, several local pubs/eateries wer'ent up and running, but we did find a fantastic village shop with cafe on the far side of the Loch, ask for directions at reception. The ferry is free for pedestrians by the way. We also visited Kinlochleven (site of the former aluminium smelting works, which was very interesting and unexpected). One of the best sites we've ever stayed at.

Wonderful location

We spent two nights at Bunree. Our pitch was loch side with a lovely green open area in front. The views no matter the weather are stunning. On site facilities were spotless. Second visit to this site and would go again.

Amazing site and view

A lovely site with an absolutely amazing view which is constantly changing. The weather was poor but this did no detract from the view. Very clean facilities and a first for the campsites we have visited in the Uk - a drying room! Well situated to explore the area and despite our MH being 8.2m we had no problem parking in Fort William. Very friendly and helpful wardens who worked hard to keep the facilities so spotless. The washrooms were lovely and warm. We will definitely be back shame it is so far from London.

Best Caravan Club site?

This site has such spectacular views it is really hard to beat. A great site and we're sure we will be back. Helpful wardens, warm facilities and we appreciated the benches by the loch so we could sit and enjoy the view.

Bunree - The Ultimate!

This is my second visit to Bunree. Situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe it one of the most picturesque sites I have been on. The wardens are very friendly, helpful and keep the site in amazing order. Its the ultimate site of all time for me, it could only be improved by having some serviced pitches.

A Cracking Location

An overnight stay does not do this site justice. A superb location and facilities, together with excellent and friendly wardens. John & Sharon K.
