Mid-June 2015

Stopped off here for 3 nights on our way south mid-June. For a short stop over we had only booked a pitch without awning. Since the site was not fully booked, the warden suggested we could choose any pitch and we did, choosing what we thought was just perfect for us. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Site facilities were just fine and the toilet block was well looked after. We would consider this site again but not for Blackpool itself - rather for exploring the area. good location ...... alot of gravel

This is the 3rd visit here and its a great location for a base to go into Blackpool for the day.  Clean, quiet and relaxed.  The only critisism I would have is as I'm sitting right now infront of our caravan having breakfast, the amount of gravel makes the site look like a caravan dealer rather than a caravan site. Very grey and bland. A bit more greenery wouldn't go a miss. Chris

Noisy - but you dont go to Blackpool for peace anyway!

The site wardens were lovely and very helpful, the site itself is clean and well kept, lovely spacious pitches and location is ideal for popping into Blackpool. Decent Wifi and great TV reception - no aerial hook up but not needed. The road past the site is noisy (didn't bother me) and there was some, loud, live music nearby all of Saturday evening until late (which actually drove me a bit crazy but nobody else was bothered by it, so maybe it's just me!) however you don't go to Blackpool for the peace and quiet. We had a super time and will be returning for the Illuminations.

Enjoyable Family Getaway

Just arrived home after spending what can only be described as an enjoyable 4 nights away at Blackpool South Caravan Site. We arrived on the Tuesday just after midday. It is a very easy location to find and we were immediately made welcome by the wardens. They let us choose our own pitch and even advised us on certain pitches that would better accommodate us as they were located next to the play area which was ideal as we have children. We also took our dog for the first time and although there is no dog walking area on the site the warden advised us on using the lane at the back of the premises which is accessible through the gate at the rear. The facilities are well maintained and very clean. Blackpool, Lytham and St Anne's are all just a short drive away so there is plenty to keep you and your family entertained. All in all a very nice site and we would certainly pay it another visit.

Great First Caravanning Trip With The Dogs

Very friendly site, very peaceful, we opted for the furthest pitch away from the children's play area as we had dogs with us. Lots of helpful advise to us first timers from other visitors. We took 3 dogs with us with no issues, there is no on site dog walking facilities (however realistically who would want to pitch next to one?), and yes there is a main road outside, however just a short stride away there is a good area for them to walk, and if you want to let them run free then the beach is just down the road, the lack of dog facilities on this site would definitely not put us off from staying again, if fact we are planning our next visit!

Dog owners

This is a well maintained site and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However if you are a dog owner don t go to this site unless you are prepared to travel. There is no dog walking on site but you can use the back gate to enter a quiet lane, turn right, where there is a field which isn't very big.

Lovely site

We first visited this site for three nights at the end of March. The weather was terrible most of the time but it didn't stop us getting out and about. We have two dogs and found the lane at the back to be a nice quiet walk. Although there is a lot of industry in the area it is still a lovely rural site. The wardens were very helpful, explaining things to us. We liked it so much we have just been back for another three night stay. It is a lovelly site, well placed for many things. Just an hour from home for us so I am sure that we will come again.

My first CC site visit as a newbie.

Well, what can I say? What a lovely place to visit for my first experience. I have just purchased my van and wanted to give it a trial run locally. I found the directions to the site spot on. The site is very close to the motorway exit yet far enough to not hear it. Upon arriving I found the wardens really helpful in the office, they informed me of available pitches (with map) along with a few basic instructions as I'm a newbie :-). They told me where the facilities where and they explained how to use the keys. In the office one could also order newsapers and they also sold a few essentials like milk, bread, sugar etc etc. I found the other caravanners really helpful and soon settled in to my one night stay. As for the facilities on site, they were absolutely first class (warm, clean and fresh). I was told they were on par with all CC member sites in so much that they were spotless and well built. There was a small playground on site for the kids. There was some slight noise from the nearby airfield very occasionally throughout the day (not in the night) but the aircraft were generally small and it didn't affect my stay one bit. I am very familiar with Blackpool and can safely say that the location of the site is brilliant for those who want to visit the nearby attractions. In conclusion I would recommend that this site is put on your list of places to visit and I look forward to visiting many other CC member sites in the near future.

Easter at Blackpool South

Recently spent 3 nights here (our second visit to this site). Wardens were welcoming, friendly and helpful, working hard to keep the site and facilities in good order. Unfortunately we felt due to a few selfish families, their efforts were somewhat challenged. There were some unruly children, due to a lack of parental supervision/bad parenting. Some parents/grandparents allowed them do as they pleased. e.g. Causing a danger to themselves and others by cycling at speed in the wrong direction around the site. Shower/toilets were sometimes left "messy"......again, probably because of lack of supervision.  However we did enjoy our stay at the site which is well positioned for visiting the attractive towns of Lytham, St Anne's as well as the bright lights of Blackpool. May we add that the "cycling" problem is not unique to this site....it would be good if parents would realise the dangers, before there is a fatality.
