So nice, but so disappointing

On arrival we thought that the site was very nice we were impressed by the nice lady in reception and the introduction to the site.  We found a spacious pitch and after that it was rather downhill - this being due to roads surrounding the site.  We were in a motorhome so on foot had to risk our life crossing round abouts off the motor way to get to a bus stop to take us to Blackpool.  The road which the site was on was very busy and attracted people speeding on motorbikes with no helmets both dangerous and intimidating - given this was in the evening.  There were lots of horse and carts also flying about (come to your own conclusion on this one),  As there was no dog walking area, some dog owners had let their dogs make mess on the grass and not cleared it.  The site was quiet at night and although we did not use the shower blocks we looked at them and they were spotless.  The shop sells the usual basics and there are bins for recycling.  We did not find the water points but could imagine this not that easy given the layout.  Its hard to judge as if in caravan with car then you would easily get to Blackpool and it is well placed.  But being on foot, simply too dangerous to cross the roads to get there. Whilst the site was quiet at night, early evening there were groups of children scottering around and as you are fairly close you can hear your neighbours speak.  This in all fairness we prefer smaller CL sites which allow more room.

Very well run site

A warm welcome by the wardens who work tirelessly to meet, greet, tend the facilities and site which are spotless. No dining or shops in easy walking distance for us oldies, but cheap enough taxis fares - ask wardens for advice. A bit noisy at night from vehicles, but not enough to stop us returning.

Excellent, small and exteremly relaxing campsite!

As you step foot on the site the first thoughts that come to mind is the relaxing atmosphere and feel that the site has. The welcome given to us by the wardens was very positive and friendly, this adding to the ambiance of the site itself. The wardens will do anything for you, all you have to do is ask. I couldn't fault the facilities on the site. Everything was clean and my wife, being in a manual wheelchair, everything was accessible to her. I couldn't fault this site and will defiantly go there again in the near future!

Very pleasant stay

A lovely welcome from the wardens to this very nicely located site, with just a short drive to Lytham, St. Annes or Blackpool. The facilities were beautifully kept and we had a peaceful stay, considering it was right in the middle of the school holidays! One observation however, the parking of cars in relation to caravans and awnings was a bit haphazard in our part of the site - a bit more guidance to some guests would have been appropriate. Overall however, a very nice stay.

Great stay - lovely site

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Blackpool site.  Lovely stay - so much so we ended up staying an additional night! Warden's helpful,  facilities spotless and we were helped by having great weather.  Although site in a nice quite sheltered area.  Down side is there is not much to do in the immediate area. (This does make it quite, but we enjoy walking to a pub/shops/town etc)  Overall lovely stay, would recommend and would return.  Thanks

Blackpool

Nice site only a few miles away from centre of blackpool, helpful staff, very clean and tidy site with a playpark for little ones.  There is a bus about a mile away but we found it better to get taxi, £8 each way so not much dearer than bus and door to door.

Idea site for Blackpool and surrounding area

Stayed here for a 3 nights recently for the first time and would come back again. Really liked this site. Lovely, very helpful Wardens and a well kept site as you would expect from the Caravan Club. Well laid out facilities with everything needed to hand. Location fairly close to main routes for getting around into Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Clevelys, Fleetwood etc.

Sunny Blackpool

This was our last stop over of our 1572 miles 2  week summer tour - not a huge fan of Blackpool as adults, however we knew it would be a great few days for our 6 yr old. We bought a Resort pass plus and spent 3 busy days being entertained by some of Blackpool’s finest attractions.  Not in walking distance to town with a young child but there is a bus (no14) that leaves from a nearby industrial site. The bus only runs till 7 to this point, however the 14 runs till near 11 at night and will get you as far as Tescos near the site. The walk back to the site is along a grass verge on a busy road so we choose to take a taxi on the 1st night. From then on, we drove camper to Tesco car park (no charge) and used the buses from there. If you have no children, you can walk to and from no problem if you take care on verge. My son met friends and our pitch was next to the play area so we could keep an eye on him – although the site is very safe.  It is definitely a family site and can be a little noisy through the day so if you don’t have kids choice a pitch away from the play area.  Staff are very friendly and helpful – they are big on recycling and I spoke to a warden who was going through the rubbish to pull out things others hadn’t recycled properly.  If we we ever go back to Blackpool, I would book this site again.

Has gone downhill

I've been going to this site for years and I was saddened to see the state of the place this week when I stayed there. Grass and hedges badly needed trimmed and the toilets were not up to the usual high standard. This site was always immaculate when terry and Sandra were running it, such a shame the new wardens don't have the same dedication to maintain the site as their predecessors once did.
