Better & Better.

Yes ,better & better can only describe the Black Horse C.C site, since the new reception/office facility has been finished ,and extra site park up places & hard standings accepting long outfits too..Very good for early get.a.ways for channel crossings.I have used this site many times and will continue to do so,particularly as the pub over the road serves up some very good locally sourced food.

Take care leaving.

We stayed here in November and found it up to the usual club standards as regards facilities and site appearance. Wardens were helpful and cheerful. Pub across the road does some very good food (we are both vegies and had a choice on the menu). Site is used by many as a stop either before or after doing a channel crossing, it's very close to channel tunnel and ferries. Do take great care when leaving as the left hand corner by reception is very deceptive, I missed the railings but not the kerb (railings were very close to side of van). So you have been warned!

Great for Eurotunnel

Great as stopover for Eurotunnel but a bit expensive, site facilities 10 out of 10.

Perfect weekend away

We went along to this site for a weekend away with our Children and Grandchildren. Us in our Motorhome and the family in their Caravan. It really is very friendly and toilets and site are kept in an immaculate condition. The staff were extremely helpful. It has a pub in walking distance and a shop opposite the entrance which sold everything. We found the 20 minute walk to the garden centre cafe was well worth the effort as the cafe had good food at a very reasonable price. Buses pass the site very 15 minutes and we used this for a trip into Canterbury on the Saturday  much better than trying to park a car. This site would also be good if you wanted to do a day trip to France as it is so convenient for the tunnel and ferry services. We will definitely use this site again. We will definitely be back.

Short break in Kent

spent 3 nights here late October 2016 & found it to be a very pleasant site indeed. Obviously gets a lot of Channel overnighters but these are split away from the longer-term users. The site is peaceful, clean, well laid out with good facilities. The wardens were friendly, of course, like all CC sites in our experience! Liked the site and would look forward to using it again on any return to Kent. p.s. The nearby Battle of Britain Museum is REALLY worth a visit.

Kent holiday

Our first stay at this site. Very clean, pitches were flat. Toilet block very clean, spacious showers.  Wardens friendly.  Although we had to cut our stay short we enjoyed the time we were here.

Kent holiday

We have stayed at this site several times, both for local sightseeing and to catch the ferries. We have always been extremely pleased with the standards maintained on the site, both with the cleanliness and the helpful staff attitudes. The pitches are well spaced out and the two facilities blocks are only a minute or two's walk from each other. It is about a twenty five minute drive to Dover for the ferries and less than ten minutes to the M20. The road outside the site is very busy but there is no disturbance when staying there. I did not notice a playground for children unless it was in the next section so families might find this to be a slight problem. A lot of rabbits around and I did hear of one member who had a minor problem with an awning securing rope being damaged. There is an excellent bus service within fifty metres with buses every fifteen minutes to Canterbury in one direction and Folkstone/Hythe in the other. Opposite the site is a small shop which has changed hands from our last visit. The proprietor is very friendly and it now has much longer opening hours. Also there is a pub within one hundred metres, again with a very friendly landlord. They serve food but as we did not eat there I cannot comment on that but a lot of people from the site did eat there. We will definitely be returning to this site.

Weekend Stay

The staff were very friendly & helpful. In the information room there was extensive brochures / pamphlets on all local facilities etc. Very clean site & well maintained. Only improvements would be better lighting for night time access & toilets could be upgraded but these did not detract from having a great time on a great site.

A little more thought for the dogs!

Having stayed here many times, I have come to expect the high standards that are to be found  The staff are faultless, the site is well laid out and is spotless and considering its constant use, it is a very peaceful place to base yourself.  The upgrades that have taken place here, reception and the widening of the entry/ exit barriers, just add to this sites perfection. This being the first time that I have brought along a dog, I found that the dog walk/ exercise area could do with a little enhancement. Ideally some gravel or proper pathway as in the wet weather your footwear gets caked and you can see this transferred to the roadway including the path leading to the children play area, let alone to caravans and motor homes. Also some lighting for the dark evenings, as can be found throughout the site. This is two fold. H&S slips trips and falls and would ease the task in keeping it clean.  The above doesn't detract from a first class and well run site.
