Kent holiday

We have stayed at this site several times, both for local sightseeing and to catch the ferries. We have always been extremely pleased with the standards maintained on the site, both with the cleanliness and the helpful staff attitudes. The pitches are well spaced out and the two facilities blocks are only a minute or two's walk from each other. It is about a twenty five minute drive to Dover for the ferries and less than ten minutes to the M20. The road outside the site is very busy but there is no disturbance when staying there. I did not notice a playground for children unless it was in the next section so families might find this to be a slight problem. A lot of rabbits around and I did hear of one member who had a minor problem with an awning securing rope being damaged. There is an excellent bus service within fifty metres with buses every fifteen minutes to Canterbury in one direction and Folkstone/Hythe in the other. Opposite the site is a small shop which has changed hands from our last visit. The proprietor is very friendly and it now has much longer opening hours. Also there is a pub within one hundred metres, again with a very friendly landlord. They serve food but as we did not eat there I cannot comment on that but a lot of people from the site did eat there. We will definitely be returning to this site.

Weekend Stay

The staff were very friendly & helpful. In the information room there was extensive brochures / pamphlets on all local facilities etc. Very clean site & well maintained. Only improvements would be better lighting for night time access & toilets could be upgraded but these did not detract from having a great time on a great site.

A little more thought for the dogs!

Having stayed here many times, I have come to expect the high standards that are to be found  The staff are faultless, the site is well laid out and is spotless and considering its constant use, it is a very peaceful place to base yourself.  The upgrades that have taken place here, reception and the widening of the entry/ exit barriers, just add to this sites perfection. This being the first time that I have brought along a dog, I found that the dog walk/ exercise area could do with a little enhancement. Ideally some gravel or proper pathway as in the wet weather your footwear gets caked and you can see this transferred to the roadway including the path leading to the children play area, let alone to caravans and motor homes. Also some lighting for the dark evenings, as can be found throughout the site. This is two fold. H&S slips trips and falls and would ease the task in keeping it clean.  The above doesn't detract from a first class and well run site.

September 2016

One night stopover second year used on way to tunnel. Well run you think why do they want to know what time we will get there but its soon apparent the site is set up for minimum disruption to fellow campers on arrival and departure from site. Really well sorted. Fully recommend to everyone even for longer stays as you are then in another separate part.

Second time

This was our second time here, and we think it's one of the best club sites around. The owners are friendly and it's very clean and peaceful in amongst the trees. It's an ideal central location for all the seaside towns in the area,we took our two grandchildren with us and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We shall return to this site in the future.

Easy access to the tunnel

Stayed overnight before early channel crossing. Wardens were very helpful and friendly, facilities were good and arrangements for early starts without disturbing others was very good. Would recommend this site to friends.

Good location for ferry crossing

We only stayed for one night en-route to the ferry at Dover (30 minutes drive) but it was a clean and tidy site and the whole process was very easy. The staff were also very helpful as we had lost a number plate on the way down. The dog walking area was very good. We would definitely use this site again.

Same old, same old!

Third or fourth time we have stayed at this site, and it's as good as ever. We made a last-minute booking because of a problem with timings, and we were concerned because we thought we would be late. No problem - got a nice call from the manager, who arranged for our access details to be left securely outside the office: very efficient. Had a comfortable night, off mid-morning the day after, excellent showers, good drying facilities for our damp washing and absolutely no complaints. Thanks again.

lovely site showers need updating

We have stayed here twice now and find it a good location for touring the area and a well laid out and run site. Posh new office/reception too! My only negative is that the lower facilities block needs at least all the showers refurbishing. Clean and functional but a real mixture of showers and at least one hanging by its pipework. Below standard I'm afraid.
