Great site

This is our second visit to this site, the staff are great ambassadors to the club and should be praised for their commitment. However, not that it had anything to do with the staff but the Club, it's nice to see that we have gone through a rebranding of the club,I feel that before any such measures were considered it would be nice if there could of been some updating to the wifi on most sites. In total over the past twelve month we have none or little internet use, which begs the question "what are we paying for"?

Wonderful weekend - despite the weather!

This was our 3rd time in a Caravan Club site, and our first trial weekend with our 3 year old grand-daughter. Firstly, a big thank you to the lovely couple running the site - Margaret and Stuart. They were so friendly and helpful and kept Natalya busy for hours having asked her to count the rabbits! We went on night time rabbit catching raids (failed!!) or had fun spotting them from the caravan in the mornings. I think they rated higher than the animals at Port Lympne! The site is very peaceful with no traffic noise and the showers and toilets were immaculate (apart from the occasional person who obviously failed the toilet brush training course!) and lovely and warm. It must be such hard work to keep a site looking good over the winter period, especially when it pours with rain, but all was in good order. Natalya enjoyed the little play area - but not as much as the rabbits! The location was ideal - we enjoyed walks at the Leas and harbour in Folkestone, a day at Port Lympne (although we felt it was over-priced) and a great morning at Deal Castle. We'd definitely return - lots more to see and do and a great little site. Thank you!

Outstanding!

Our stay was excellent from start to finish. Friendly and very helpful staff at reception. Pitch was spacious Toilet and shower block kept immaculately clean No noise on site at night Food at the Black Horse Pub was very good. Landlord happy to serve me a child's portion of fish and chips as the adult size was huge. Cod freshly caught and bought from Folkstone daily. All round perfect stay with added entertainment from the rabbits, of which there plenty Will be back

Good demonstration of a bad club. Site needs closing while it is sorted.

Stayed here for 4 nights and felt hollow on leaving. The two wardens were run ragged cleaning toilet blocks and water points because the 'club' hadn't sought replacement contractors for one on holiday. The pitches are mainly hard standing but they are covered in mud due to lack of maintenance and defined edges. Rabbits are everywhere so no good if you have a dog that likes them and don't mind walking rabbit turd everywhere under your shoes. The link pathways were green with moss, slippery in places, and old autumn leaves littered the site. How a 'club' with so much money can not put resources to it's members or staff benefit for a clean maintained site is terrible. The toilet blocks were immaculate which is test amount to the effort by the wardens. As a CLUB site it needs closing for a month or two so that it can be rejuvenated to what should be expected on arrival to a premium priced location. Main road outside interferes with peace even at the back of the site. Very little to no phone signal and the 'club' is failing to sort the failed wi-fi out, which is terrible when the local buses have free wi-fi on board. Stay here for a night for the ferry or train but go elsewhere for a holiday. Plenty of better options around the area. Won't be returning in a hurry, if at all.

It sets the bar

Our first experience of a Caravan Club site and it's the best place we have stayed. Great location, friendly helpful staff, good and spotlessly clean facilities at a decent price. Good WiFi too at a reasonable cost. We felt that a great deal of thought had gone into this site, catering for short stays, longer stays, families and dog owners (our boy loved the rabbity dog walk) The shower blocks and laundry facilities were excellent. I wish that other sites would take note and use this as a benchmark for their own (often lacking) standards.

Wet Stay

We stayed for two nights in November. It rained most of the time. However the wardens were cheerful and friendly, the site facilities were clean and the site was well kept despite a never-ending battle with the falling leaves. As motor homers we like to choose sites near shops/transport. There is a well stocked small supermarket right opposite this site and a bus stop very near the site entrance. The bus service is frequent and will take you either into Folkestone or to Canterbury. Despite the weather we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.

Our first with a motorhome

We arrived just on cut-off time but were still greeted very cordially. The facilities are excellent, it is well manicured, the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. The bus service to Folkestone or Canterbury is very regular and the Black Horse pub across the road serves good, freshly cooked food with generous helpings. This was our first stay on any Caravan Club site, so if the rest measure up to this one we are looking forward to a very pleasant future. PS We've booked in for this weekend as well.
