Tranquil and pretty site

This is the second time I have stayed at this site as I was keen to show friends how lovely it was. As a woman on my own and for personal reasons both myself and my friends asked for a pitch next to each other. On arrival we were told we were no where near each other. Staff were able to change pitches to be next to each other but i was a little upset that this couldn't have been done on booking. That said this site is just lovely with immaculate facilities and I would definitely visit again.

You've won the Battle

What a perfect location for a site. Really friendly wardens with lots of useful local Information. It's our first time on this site and found it very relaxing, even though we were pitched directly in front of play area and fenced in playing park. A great place for a game of football and no fear of damage to outfits from flying balls. Great dog walk too. Lovely area, we visited Battle Abbey and had a walk round the battlefield and the village. Went to Rye and New Romney, where we took the steam train to Dungeness. Such a unique place to visit and of course climb to the top of the lighthouse. Would thoroughly recommend this site, kept well by the hard working wardens. Tv signal not very good and wifi only available at the reception, where laptop users all congregated to get a signal.

Beautiful location

Our 3rd visit to this pretty site & the Rhododendrons were in full bloom. New Wardens who were helpful & friendly. Visited the Medieval festival in Battle over the Bank Holiday which is small but entertaining. Our children especially enjoyed the Jester! Battle Abbey is very interesting but pricey to get in, if your not an English Heritage Member. Great location for National Trust properties, Batemans & Bodium Castle. Hastings is just down the road & good Superstores for any supplies. Dog walk has been greatly improved & was nice & clean. We will hopefully be back again next year!

Good but could be better

We have been to this site many many times, we only live a short distance away but we are thinking of going elsewhere. The site is excellent in many ways but is being let down to my mind as the days of the lovely warm toilet block is nonexistent. Even last season there always seemed to be an excuse as to why the heating was either just warm or stone cold, last week the doors to the dishwashing rooms were left open but the heating was on yet the men’s shower room was stone cold. The heating could do with a complete overhaul but I suppose it’s all down to money. The club seems to be cutting costs everywhere while putting up prices. Not far away an independent site give paper shower mats, and a dispenser for wet wipes in a lovely warm toilet block, I think we will be going there instead.

Great site

We stayed at Normanhurst for 2 days over the Bank Holiday weekend with friends, a first ever caravan trip in our newly acquired Swift 480. What can we say about this peaceful and stunning location? Very helpful staff who took time to explain things and make you feel welcome, extremely clean facilities, immaculate gardens, a variety of pitches to chose from, lovely countryside walks nearby - all topped off with glorious weather. What more could we want? Nothing....it was a great introduction to caravanning. Thank you Normanhurst we will be back!

We have known this site for years and it still brings us much pleasure and enjoyment

Many years ago we took our first little second hand caravan here it was a wonderful introduction to a life style which we still love very much as we do this site. All the other reviews behave said it there is little we can add but must commend the wardens who demonstrated great customer care skills, particularly in helping us in dealing with a less than considerate neighbour. Good to see that the Club is attracting young career minded wardens.......why does the club persist in these antiquated tittles, these people deserve now to be called by the modern Leisure Industry tittle of Site Manager/Assistant Manager

Breath of fresh air

What a lovely site who would of known of the sites history and back ground . When you arrive you are in all terms and purposes someones garden as once was , where ever you look there are pitches hidden from sight its not in the normal uniformed straight lines . Now the controversial review which "some" club members may disagree with and it goes like this, what a DELIGHT it was to see YOUNG fresh faced wardens in their first year , upon arrival the greeting was with a smile and whilst waiting (patiently) to be served we was privy to other club members signing in to which "some" were doing their best in explaing to the ( YOUNG WARDENS) of there preferential site pitch number , but of course we all should know one has to drive around first and find an vacant pitch and if your prefered pitch is "vacant" then you may have it , and the (YOUNG WARDENS) was reminding those of the "rules" with a smile . Now for those club members who of course were in a hurry to gain their pitch there was a problem and for that i do apologize you see we me and my good lady were actually first in the queue but fourth to be served alas no one could go anywere until we had moved . Tortoise and Hare all good things come to those who wait . Thanks once again to Both sets of Wardens on this site , and may the club get more fresh faced young wardens
