Good site.

Wardens the friendliest we've met. Pretty site but found footpaths too restricting not allowed dogs off lead on main one to Catsfield. Limited also on 1066 trail. Our dog loves running in woods but the woodland on dog walk you had to keep her on a lead. We stayed for 4 nights but found it too long as we like walking but after we had done 1066 trail there was no where else to walk. Two nights would have sufficed. The pub in Catsfield does good food but other than the shop there is nothing else there. Would stay again but only for 2 nights.

Beautifully laid out site with fantastic faciliies

This is probably one of the best sites in the club! A lovely varied layout with groups of pitches surround by mature trees and a mixture of grass or hardstanding. Nothing like the car park feel you get a some sites with all the vans in neat rows!! A little bit of road noise at the northern end of the site but not enough to disturb our stay. We'll definitely be back and will stay for longer next time! The kids liked the playground, the wardens were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were up to the Club's usual exceptional standards! 10 out of 10.

Lovely site, variety of pitches and great facilities

Stayed here for 3 nights and would have liked to stay longer. Very friendly warden checked us in and we had several choices of pitch and position to look at. The facilities were verygood, plenty of showers etc, clean and well designed. The disabled facilities were excellent and again, clean and spacious. Facilities closed between 10 and 11 for cleaning, later would have been better. Nice site for walking the dog and in a lovely location. Suggestions for the club - when making hardstanding pitches please make a few non gravel for wheelchair users. We will definitely be returning to this site as the area has lots to offe, we enjoyed the site and appreciated the helpful staff.

Lovely peaceful site with friendly wardens

Have just returned from a weekend at this site with our 3 puppies... friendly welcome but don’t arrive before 12 noon or you have to wait! Wardens friendly and welcoming , clean and organised fairly small site... lovely and peaceful stay with lots of space... loved the walks with our dogs straight from the site... we walked for 12 miles along the 1066 trail after working out where we needed to go so watch the signs carefully! Followed the walk through country lane to Catsfirld to the White Hart pub... friendly and welcoming with excellent food... be warned portions are large and filling but lovely food... just remember you need to walk back to the site afterwards! Toilet and shower block x 2 on site... one was closed for maintenance but wasn’t a problem as site wasn’t full... clean tidy and well organised... separate disabled facilities too... Some road noise can be heard from some pitches but wasn’t a problem where we were. All in all a lovely site with good places to visit.... will definitely be back...

Great stay

Most enjoyable stay on a well kept site. facilities were kept very clean and tidy. we pitched at the bottom of the site and it was free of traffic noise and very peaceful, that is apart from one of the male wardens that parked his tractor morning and late afternoon each day and spent up to 20min on his phone, all a bit strange and we felt it was intrusive. We would return if in the area but perhaps choose a different pitch.

Great site, great location

I love this site for it's nooks, crannies and cut-de-sacs! Always a quiet spot somewhere, sometimes shared with a few others, sometimes just by yourself. A lovely leafy position, well maintained with two facility blocks and plenty of service points dotted around. Clean, tidy and with very helpful wardens. Great for dogs, the 1066 way is just outside, although the plethora of warning notices along the 1.25 mile track to Catsfield made me wary of straying from the path should I incur the wrath of a local landowner and be shot at dusk for trespass. Clearly though there have been many problems with dogs and the animals in fields adjacent and any responsible dog-owner would not object to keeping dogs under close control in many places.

Perfect Again

This was the second time this year that we have stayed at Battle Normanhurst, this time we were in the lower part of the site close to the stone steps away from any road noise. This pitch made our stay even more enjoyable that the one in May. The walk down to Catsfield and the White Hart was again great ( we have yet to experience this in the wet) this time we met and spoke at length to the Estate gamekeeper who was rounding up his pheasants for the night with a dog.We marvel at the trees and the whole countryside in this little piece of heaven.Wardens as usual perfect, facilities crystal clean. We will be back.

Thank you Tony W and Battle Normanhurst Court - You made a difference

Just back from a long weekend at Battle Normanhurst Court and I have to say a big cheer to Warden Tony W! Only our 3rd adventure out with our caravan so still anxious about manoeuvring etc. I got lost with the map within minutes but Tony came to our rescue. Suggested a grass pitch but it wasn't level and we aren't ready for the adventures of levelling quite yet! No problem, Tony showed us to another pitch which was perfect - gave hubbie some invaluable help in reversing the caravan and also told us some critical info about the tow-hitch which we hadn't read about in any info previously and hadn't been told about by anyone else. Thank you Tony - you made a huge difference to the start of our weekend which we thoroughly enjoyed. 10/10 customer service! In addition, this site was glorious. Really pretty in it's wooded surroundings, excellent facilities and fabulous dog walk to a pub and back (again thanks for the recommendation Tony!). The only one issue was children having a 4-hour water fight at the drinking water tap. It was lovely to see the kids having fun and cooling off (it was very hot on Friday!) but might be worth having a sign or two about wasting water in this hot, dry weather - and sell some paddling pools from the site shop!!!

Our visit to Battle June 2018

Absolutely love this site set in the grounds of an old mansion. Lots of lovely big pitches, some in shade and some in full sun. The only thing that spoils the site is the checking in procedure, which really needs to be changed. You come down a narrow drive and if you arrived early Caravans that are leaving cannot pass. We were fourth in the queue with at least six Caravans behind us. The caravaners behind us left their vehicles to check in at the office which caused total confusion as to who was next to book in. When we moved upto the office six people were checked in before us but could not move their vehicles until we moved forward. Then once checked in you move your vehicles onto the gravel area and go and find a pitch. You then move something onto the pitch to mark as reserved until you go back to the office to say which pitch you are on, and only then do you move your vehicle onto that pitch. The wardens should only book in the vehicle that is in line with the office and ask who the vehicle belongs to. Apart from the booking in method we thought the wardens and site were lovely.
