Fantastic getaway

We had 5 days of peace and quiet here. This site is fantastic very clean and efficient toilet blocks and we were helped by two marvellous members of staff when we had a puncture on our caravan. Really lovely place.

Very helpful staff.

We arrived very flustered at this site, our alternator belt had snapped in half & we only just made it to the site. However once there the staff took over & organised for our caravan to be towed to a pitch. Our car was then sectioned off, so we would not block the entrance. Nothing was too much trouble & we were never made to feel like a nuisance. The staff made such a stressful situation seem much better, the team were very proactive & went over & above to help. My first thought was to go home, but we were encouraged to stay, I’m very pleased we did. This is a beautiful site & is well placed for visiting local attractions. Once our car was fixed, we could get out & about, We did walk to battle from the site, which was lovely & mostly off road. We can’t thank the staff enough.

peaceful

Just had 2 nights away at this lovely site. One night free using our free night voucher which the lady refunded easily with the code i was sent. Beautiful surroundings in a place which once was an estate. The wall and steps still remain present giving you a feel of how grand the house was. Trees looked stunning with autumn colours. Toilet block spotlessly clean. Was recommended a pitch which had countryside views and the late afternoon sun which was a bonus. Pleasant friendly staff. Nice walk into Battle and back on the 1066 trail and visited the Abbey as now English Heritage members. Lots of nice little shops in Battle as well. Bexhill close by for a seafront stroll. We will return as a lovely site. Highly recommend.

Great site

This is a great site in the grounds of a long demolished big house but the terracing is still there. Quiet and comfortable with excellent pitches. Well managed, very clean and in pleasant surroundings. Phone signal is not good although that's not a surprise as we were in the countryside but Battle town centre was pretty poor as well.

Another really pleasant stay

We love this site, not to far to travel for the weekend, and set amongst mature trees, and small "cul -de-sac" pitches. so it doesn't feel overcrowded. facilities are immaculate. Staff very friendly. I will be back again before the end of the season

Wonderful

What a lovely site with wonderful, kind staff. They were super helpful in assisting us choose a site so that my friend and I could park our campervans close to each other with shade for our dogs. There are fantastic dog walks both on and near to the campsite. Facilities are clean and plentiful. Great base for exploring 1066 and all that from. Would highly recommend.

Excellent site for trip with grandchildren

Visited Normanhurst for the second time with grandchildren; a great success both times. The site is delightful being almost like a set of linked CLs with different groupings of pitches in trees and shrubs. Motstly very peaceful though road noise might intrude on the northerly pitches. Facilities were excellent and the staff very supportive. There is lots to do in the local area and its is in an ideal spot from that perspective.

Local to our home for a cheeky few nights away

We live about 10 minutes from this lovely site so know the area very well. But we found out so much more from our stay here about the origins of this beautiful site. Firstly we were met by a lovely warden who met us with a smile and made us so welcome. We pitched on no.1 - lovely grassy pitch with hedges aplenty and lots of birdsong. Peace and quiet! The facilities were spotless and maintenance of grass and hedges etc was immaculate. Well done to the whole team! Your hard work is appreciated. Take a walk to Catsfield following the signs and enjoy a drink or two at the pub before taking the 1 1/4mile easy walk back. Everything about this site was very good if not excellent. We will definitely be back again. Our dog certainly enjoyed watching all the wild rabbits bobbing between the caravans/motorhomes. A few seasonal caravans scattered about but no eyesores etc!

We loved it here !

A lovely welcome from lovely wardens . The site is one of the best we have stayed . Secluded nooks of 6 vans in walled gardens or old stable blocks . As well as the usual up and around pitches . Set in amongst what would have been the ornamental tiered gardens of a stately home. .original sweeping stone steps and balustrade still there . A very grand entrance down to the lower shower block ! The dog walk is just lovely and leads out alongside the rolling fields of the Normanhurst estate where you can walk to Battle in 2 miles . Had a lovely encounter with a red fox who just stopped , looked and sloped away ! Rabbits are everywhere all around your vans and not fazed by campers . Showers spotless . Peaceful if your parked on “ Bunny Plains “ or by the lower block . Could be a bit noisier at the top by the road . Tv didn’t work . Mobile signal patchy but watching a pair of woodpeckers feeding their young just outside the window almost made up for no telly ! Battle is lovely . Lots of independent shops . People are friendly . We loved it . I’d recommend a stay here . Just sorry we live so far away .

Lovely welcome and stay

Upon arrival, we booked in with Sam who was very nice and chatty and gave us a brief history of the grounds etc. very Informative. Directed to sunny pitches which are nicely laid out. Met Claire as well and had a great chat and who answered any questions that we had. The site is lovely with woodland walkways and hidden nooks if you want to be alone etc. grounds were beautifully kept and facilities were spotless. Can’t praise Claire and Sam enough for their efforts along with the rest of the team. A credit to the club. Will definitely come again. 👍 Stayed 5th June -9th June 2024
