May bank holiday stay. Great little site toilet block always clean. Site is well kept. The only downfall is the wardens 1 in particular warden with black hair very rude and aggressive. The rest of the wardens are great very helpful. Will be going back.
We stayed here because we needed to be near the M25 - however we discovered a hidden gem. Beautiful location, right on the North Downs, superbly friendly wardens and fantastic for dog walking. The wardens couldn't be any more helpful, both when we had minor problems with the motorvan, and in producing freshly baked bread on demand. What we thought would e a transit site is now on our "must revisit" list. Great if you like helicopters by the way......
This was our 3rd visit to Alderstead and once again a very enjoyable stay. We had to leave home at 5.00pm so arranged to use the Late Night Arrival facility, we were informed that there was no electricity due to a damaged bollard but this was no problem. We arrived at 10.30pm and soon settled down to a good nights sleep. Next morning we were greeted by a very friendly warden who asked if we had had a good journey and booked us onto the site at 9.00am. There was construction work but noise and disruption was kept to a minimum and did not affect us. Once again we had a very enjoyable stay and will certainly use this site again for visits to London.
Our 3rd ever caravan trip. Staff couldn't do enough to help. We are still learning the ropes of caravanning, but did ask if it was ok to have the front of the van facing the wonderful country side, the warden even offered to help turn the caravan around. So in short, kids were happy, wife was happy and that makes me happy. Will be definitely coming again.
A difficult arrival due to access road resurfacing was met by an indifferent welcome by the warden at reception. Although we were told to avoid the coned pitches because they were going to be upgraded to serviced pitches, the warden didn't think to mention that work would start the following day at 8am! The Club is quick to e-mail you in advance of a stay and equally quick to ask for a review. Why could we not have been informed in advance of the access road resurfacing and the upgrading of pitches? If we had been so informed, we would have cancelled our booking. In the event, it really didn't matter that the workmen started at 8am because that is when the noisy motorbike next to us went off to work and a father on a nearby pitch took his children off to school.
It never occurred to me that the Caravan Club had lowered its standards to such an extent as to provide a site for commuters to live. I thought it was providing sites for holiday makers.
The description of the site by the Club is misleading. No mention is made of the many pitches which are occupied by unoccupied caravans.
In addition, the site looks tired. The white curb edgings and road markings are long overdue a repaint.
Why was the second toilet block closed in mid-April?
It was not a happy stay. We will definitely not be returning and will advise all our caravanning friends to give the site a miss.
Site location within easy access of the M25 and M23. Very pleasant welcome from the new assistant wardens on their first posting who it has to be said gave us the best welcome ever received on a Caravan Club site. Their manner and friendliness were a perfect way to start the weekend. Easy taxi ride to get to trains to Central London and easy to go south to the Reigate area.
Many Thanks,
we will be back!

We have always stayed at Crystal Palace before, but because of the Marathon it was booked out, so this was next best. What a delightful place! Travelling as we did from North Kent to Devon, it was perfectly sited, and surprisingly easy to get to our family in Dulwich. The site is so spacious, green and quiet. Our only negative was that, while the instructions in the Club site book for getting there were lucid and accurate, we didn't think to ask for instructions for getting back to the M25, and got completely lost. But that was our fault - I expect the wardens could have advised us.
First time at this site and it was a lovely surprise as its so near to M25. It was very peaceful and quiet easy access to M25 and M23 for visiting different places we stayed 4 nights and loved it. Shower blocks very clean and wardens extremely friendly and helpful will definately stay again.
Love this site especially as it's location and surroundings mean you'd never know your 5 mind from, the m25 and the m23 . Facilities always spotless site always , the staff always great. With the exception of storm Katie a fantastic breaks away and only 20 mind from home too. Well worth a visit
