We have stayed at this site on numerous occasions as it is within easy reach of many family members. However I noticed this year there is a statement added below the site map, which states 'No dogs to be walked on site'. Not sure how that works as you have to walk them from your pitch to the dog walk. Also I noticed one of the wardens walking a dog on the site. I also have not seen any mention of this on the Club web site or hand book regarding dogs. That said the site is set in a great location for many dog walking areas. It is kept clean, and the caravan club have made a lot of improvements so all good news.
Lovely immaculate site
Immaculate site with spacious pitches and pretty quiet considering it is close to the m25. Very rural with lovely walks direct from the site. My dog thought he was in heaven. Definately recommended and I will be using this site again when over that way.

really good site
This was the second time we have stayed here and we enjoyed it just as much this time. Beautiful site, clean and tidy with lots of space.
Easy to get to London and efficient taxi service if you want to go to one of the villages for dinner. With six wardens on duty is it really necessary to close the office at 5'oclock? Especially on a site with so many foreign visitors. Was the woman who wrote in the comments book serious when she asked if something could be done about the local farmer shooting as it had upset her little dog? If you don't like the countryside stay out of it. It isn't there for the amusement of your little dog.

Beware
This is a great site but you MUST follow the club's book instructions of how to get there. I didn't and used the satnav. This resulted in going up a very narrow road with no passing places. After squeezing past a few cars we met a 40 ton truck which resulted in a delay of about 30 mins while the cars in front did 50 point turns which I couldn't do!! We had to back up about 800 yards ( with a medium sized motorhome) which would be impossible for a caravan. The site is quite rural with woods on three sides and excellent dog walks from a path at the entrance. There are some slopes and it is broken up by hedges. Good play area and excellent facilities and reception. We did not use the site as access to London but toured the area. All the roads are very busy and some very narrow lanes but altogether an enjoyable stay.
Close to M25 yet quiet
We chose to stay at Alderstead Heath as the site was close to family, we were not disappointed. The site was very central for our needs; easy to find from the directions provided (do NOT follow your sat nav!); the staff very helpful; and overall the site was quiet. The gentle humming noise from the M25 etc was not intrusive although that can't be said for the local farmer as an adjoining field was harvested! We stayed from 5-14 September; the site was relatively quiet which suited us, doubt it would be as enjoyable during high season. We will definitely return.
Very good site
This is the second time here and love it, the staff are friendly and helpful and keep the site very clean. There are great walks from the site and easy access from motorways although you can't hear road noise from site, also plenty of space around pitches.
Peace and quiet but close to London
Very pleasant site within striking distance of several towns and London, which took only 40 minutes by train. Good walking area from site and local shops nearby in Merstham with larger ones a couple of miles further in Redhill. Would definitely stay here again if planning to go into the capital.
Perfect!
Wow what a great site. We were so pleased with our choice. We seriously can't fault Alderstead Heath at all. The toilet and shower blocks were great. Best on site showers I've ever used. You would never know you are so close to m25/Gatwick etc. We drove 5 minutes to Coulsdon South and got train to Victoria and explored London and another day we drove down to Brighton for a day. Tesco and The Ladybird Marstons pub are 10 minutes drive away. Had a get holiday. Thank you Alderstead Heath. Staff were brilliant too!!! We will be back!

Leafy Surrey
Not knowing the area or what to expect at Alderstead Heath we were very pleasantly surprised to find how nice the site is. Well cared for grounds and friendly but unobtrusive wardens.
We recommend following the handbook directions especially arriving from the East and although it appears to be a convoluted approach to attempt any thing else may well end in tears.
Lots to see in the area and being in the proximity of London and Gatwick there seem to be a lot of helicopters but the club's blurb on the site warns of the 'flight path'. Not a problem at night as flying is very limited after sunset.
Sanitation blocks are starting to look a bit tired and we couldn't understand the recycling policy whereby glass goes in with the general waste but apart from that a super site and perfect for the walker who has the North Downs to satisfy their pedestrian desires right on the doorstep.
A really pleasant surprise.
We'd left booking a site for the Bank holiday weekend too late and the only site available was here at Alderstead Heath, with reservations we booked but didnt expect much so close to the M25 and M23 but we were in for a very pleasant surprise.
Greeted by friendly welcoming staff we were able to choose our pitch, we chose grass and for us it was the perfect place. Set up beside a group of around 6 trees it felt like a New Forest holiday. Our Granddaughter was with us for one night and she loved the Play area's, she also loved the Explorer Trail and booklet. Very popular with families, she made friends and was soon cycling around having fun. Our 2 dogs weren't left out either with lots of walks, all starting from the site entrance. On friday evenings a van comes round with wood fired pizzas for sale. Daily there are fresh baguettes in the office, ice cream/ lollies were selling like hotcakes, plus a full and interesting information office which also has a good selection of books to swop for 50p or buy for a £1.
This site is one that we hope to return to again and again and highly recommend it to others.
