We enjoyed our short stay here in July. It was spoilt only be the very slow wifi connection. In fact it was so slow at times that we had to use a mobile broadband device which was up to three times faster. We were left wondering why we had signed up for the campsite wifi. Apart from that a pleasant and peaceful stay at a nice location.
Another Great Alderstead Stay
August Bank Holiday 2017. Arrived Friday about 6:00 pm for 4 nights. We have family 30 minutes away so caught up with them over the weekend. Site was great as usual. Some new faces in the staff line up but very helpful as usual.
The only negative comment I would have is that some of the campers seem to think that the 5mph speed limit does not apply to them. A very difficult job for staff to enforce I would imagine.
We will be back.
Thankyou C&MC
Spoiled visit
Our stay, as previous reviews was spoilt by a number of factors and certainly not "peace and quiet" as some have described.
Lots of traffic movement early morning with many using the site as a base for work.
Lots of Commercial vehicles there too and seasonal caravans too, I knew there were seasonal's but not the commercial element. Also a lot of school aged children on site with several large families sited together.
The staff were lovely and helpful and they must have a lot of patience dealing with the issues on site. These included cleaning the new toilet block that was in a right state when the kids had been using it as a play area! Even walked in to find a soiled pull up nappy just left by the showers, yuk!
This would certainly stop us from re-booking this particular site again based on our experiences.
Disappointing
I don't know when others stayed here for the "peace and quiet" but when we stayed the site was blighted by the early morning activities of people who used the site as a base from which to go to work. Until this becomes a "touring" site it will remain off my list.
An oasis
We live in the countryside and the thought of being so close to the M25 was not attractive, but we did want to visit some of many of the wonderful places in the area. What a surprise to find such an oasis just off the beaten track. The site is big and in the lower area the pitches are well spaced with a woodland outlook. The woods are great for dog-walkers, which makes it a mystery why some people walk their dogs around the site, even if they do pick 'it' up. We only had a short stay (fully serviced pitch, bliss) and got to see the Down House, Polesden Lacey and RHS Wisley. Didn't get to walk the North Downs Way or Box Hill, so will have to go back. Great site, great staff, great pizzas on Friday evenings, and will have great facilities once the builders have finished.
Easter at alderstead heath
A good club site generous pitches we enjoyed our stay, the club site will be better when the new toilet block is completed.
We will visit again.
The access is important to.follow the recommended route, we used satnav when not towing and it takes you on a section of Dean lane that is definitely not for caravans! !
Great base for London and S.E.
6 nights on a grass pitch. Really enjoyed it. So convenient for exploring the area. Staff are great. Watch uot that the 2nd toilet block is being renovated and looks to be for some weeks yet. The one which was open is dated a bit so I expect it to follow....... Caution to those not reading access details - dont approach via Dean Lane off A23/M23 - I saw many doing this on my way in and out and they had trouble. M25 Junction 8/6 offer reasonable alternatives via Merstham/Chaldon.

Easter trip Base for central london
Booked the site to use as we wanted to head into London for sightseeing day trips. Site was easy to find and directions from website spot on. Don't use the satnav once you come off the m25 you will regret it with damage to your caravan or motor home.
First of all a mention to the staff. They were new to the site but were first rate and couldn't be more helpful.
The site is large and spacious with 2 play parks one older and one younger. We had a field to ourselves which was great.
Toilets were clean although a bit dated. The showers were hot and plentiful. Only one shower block was available during our stay as the other was being refurbished, which we feared the worst for noise and disruption. Not one bit of it the workers were quiet and courteous thus ensuring a relaxing holiday.
As we were heading into central London there is a direct line to a taxi firm at reception 6 pound into Coulsdon south and £20.40 on the train to London Bridge for a family of 4 with a rail card.
If there were any minus points about the site it would be that the reception is not stocked as well as others with essentials like bread and butter but then again tesco is only 3 miles away.
All in all a lovely, quiet picturesque site ideal for the family.
Would definatly visit again even from the north east of england

Wow ! What a super site
We made a stop here on our way to Abbey Wood after picking up our new Motorhome from Maidenhead and liked it so much we stopped for three nights on our way home. It is a large site but fantastically laid out with a brilliant children's area with also a relaxing adult area too.
There is a myriad of footpaths leading from the club site which is wonderful for dog walking with a couple of pubs to stop at on the way.
Will definitely stay again on route to Abbey Wood
