Great stay, dog walking and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff

The staff throughout our stay were exceptionally friendly and helpful, answering all our queries and giving useful advice eg dog walking ideas, how to get to the nearest village, nice simple instructions for finding the nearest supermarket etc. Dog walking for miles directly next to the site, our dogs loved it and so did we. If you have dogs this is brilliant, as you don't have to use your car to get to great walks. The shower and toilet facilities in the block that was open (the other was being renovated), were spotlessly clean and the showers were all piping hot. The renovation work did not interfere with us, and as there was prior warning on the description we were expecting this, maybe others who found it annoying may have over looked this information in error when they were booking. We can't really comment on whether the site is good for families, as our children have flown the nest, but the play area looked clean and tidy. We agree that there are not many water points, but the site is not huge, so getting water was not arduous for us, but others may find this more problematic. We will definitely be returning.

Shame about the new Toilet Block

The new Toilet Block is a disappointment, if was cold and made for an uncomfortable showering experience. There was water leaking form the wash hand basins in front of the door in the gents block which meant the floor was constantly flooded. It was very wet outside and all around the outside water was pooling. I would suggest the builders and called back pronto for snagging!

Nice but needs more

A nice clean site but severly lacking in lighting at night and with building work going on this could have been dangerous.also needs more water points so you don't have to keep filling up.

Be home by 11 PM

We are using this site as it is convenient to visit family. However on return at 11.45 the Barrier was locked So we proceeded towards the car park. Unfortunately the car park was full Mainly Commercial vans. On the roundabout by the barrier there were six lanes for late arrivals so we chose the narrowest and left the car there for the night in the morning when we went to collect the car we have a little notice put on the windscreen saying please do not park here is for late arrivals only It’s January and there were no late arrivals that night so I proceeded to park the car by our caravan But that wasn’t enough for the jobsworth warden who then proceeded to come and knock on our caravan to tell us off. After asking him where we should have parked as the car park was full he didn’t know just saying those lanes are only for late arrivals. So if you going to use this site Make sure your home by 11 or you’ll get locked out with nowhere to park

Christmas at Aldersheath

We decided to stay there over the Christmas period for 5 days, a trial expecting it to be mainly empty. How surprised we were to see lots of other caravans with their Christmas fairy lights doing the same as us. We found it quiet, friendly and a pleasure to stay there. Other caravaners all spoke and the wardens were very helpful as we had forgotten our mains cable and they got us a replacement. We are thinking of doing the same thing again this year.

Potentially a nice site but spoilt by taking non members

We stayed here in November 2017. Whilst it is a Caravan Club Site it is open to non members and consequently it does not have the same atmosphere. The majority of residents were unfriendly and did not respond to a good morning/afternoon/evening, something we have never encountered on other Club Sites. As mentioned by other reviews the men’s toilets were disgusting first thing in the morning (not the fault of the wardens). We were pitched next to a family who were clearly from the Travelling fraternity. The husband left in his pick up just after 7am and returned after 10pm every day. Again, as mentioned by others there are many Caravans left and unattended on grass pitches away from service bollards which are clearly being stored. It is a large site surrounded by woodland so ideal for seclusion and nature but spoilt by the atmosphere created by some of its guests. To emphasise the point we were walking on the site road and a male Caravaner tipped his waste water onto the road in front of us. This was despite the fact that he was situated next to a Service point! We would not stay here again and will stick to sites which are exclusive to Club members in future.

Nice site - could be better

We chose this site because of how close it was to some friends we were visiting in the area. Considering how close the site is to the main road it was surprisingly quiet. Easy to get to from the M25, but the main roads away from the site even out of peak times during the week are extremely busy. A large site although we found it looking a bit tired, but perhaps it's just that time of year. There seemed to be a lot of caravans pitched up with no occupants and as commented on by other reviewers workers using the site as a base to stay. Not that it caused any problems. The one thing that I found extremely disappointing was on the morning we came home the filthy state of every one of the gents toilets in the upper toilet block. How people can leave them in this state is beyond me. This is not a reflection on the wardens who I know clean the toilet block to a high standard. A word of caution - Returning to the M25 requires you to turn right onto a very busy main road. Other than that the site is well situated for travel into London and the many attractions around. Would we use the site again - very unlikely.

Good location

A big site with spacious pitches. The new toilet block was closed while we were there which was dissapointing as the open block is in serious need of updating which we believe will start in November. As previous reviewers comments on workers staying on site we had people doing this around us who could be up and about anytime after 6am banging about. Clay pigeon shoot next to the site very noisy when being used one person I met was about to leave as the gunshot was driving his dog crazy fortunately did not bother our dog. Do not attempt accessing the site from the A23 into Deanlane - you cannot pass anything coming the other way. We attempted the walk from the site through the local woods after passing through the dog walk woods you come out onto the main road into Caterham - we were nearly killed by cars travelling to fast along this road - as we had our dog we gave up and went back Although the site is in a good location doubt if we would return

Brilliant site, especially if you have a dog

Lovely site very friendly and helpful staff they say the hard standings are level, and yes they are, reversed van onto pitch lowered corner steadies, spirit level bubble bag in the centre WOW, never seen that before. Also fantastic dog walk on site, a large woods with concrete paths all through it, never seen that before either. Although site is close to Mway it's surprisingly quiet. Will be going there again wonderful site.
