A fabulous site set in the most idilic location. Super easy to walk into town and further afield. We didn’t use our car in the 5 days we stayed. Great walks out into the countryside - think we managed a 13 mile loop but you can make them much shorter and still see wonderful sights and history.
Just be mindful of the narrowing entry and exit point before the gate.
Well worth staying and will hopefully stay again.
Bob and Clare.
Such a lovely site, so convenient for Hay. Nice level mown field.
One small issue for us was the entrance gate latch was difficult to open.
But still highly recommended.
This site is very convenient for Hay-on-Wye with pleasant walks from immediately from it. The field is large and there is plenty of space for everyone. Some areas have a slight slope so levellers are useful. It feels very secluded and peaceful, despite being only a short walk from the centre of town. We enjoyed our two night stay.
I highly recommend reading the information sent from Lynda. It gives very specific and useful information. The photos are a real help.
We love this CL, the location is superb, so much so that our vehicle stayed parked up for the duration of our stay. An easy couple of minutes walk into Hay centre, the well stocked CO-OP is also a couple of minutes walk away.
We have stayed here before, but will definitely come back again because of the peace and quiet and the excellent location.
We walked to Llowes on the Wye Valley Walk which mostly follows the river, but closer to Llowes I’d recommend taking the higher footpath (as shown on the OS map) because the views are really wonderful.
Thank you Lynda for another wonderful stay.
We returned again to our favourite CL in Hay in August. Very quiet and we even saw an owl, which was a first for us. We enjoyed a lovely welcome from Lynda, Chris and Peter, who always make us feel really welcome and share lots of local knowledge and tips of things to do. For us three, me, hubby and Ellie the Jack Russell, there's something for all of us. Super dog walks, shops and a castle!
This is one of the best CL's I've visited. A few minutes walk to the interesting Hay-on-wye in Wales! A well kept spacious and relaxing place at a good price, wish we stayed longer. All grass, no toilets or showers or ehu, need levellers.
Lovely peaceful CL site, very close to the town.
Stayed for two nights.
Walked the Miles without stiles circular walk, which follows the river part way, with starting point across the road from site.
The town is great to explore and has a good selection of eateries and pubs.
Would recommend this site and will stay again if visiting the area again.
There is an area of the site where you can basically be on your own via a narrow bridge, ideal for campervans.
Thanks for a great place Lynda.
We stayed here for one rainy night last week. It was easy to book at the last minute and the site is very peaceful but only a short stroll from the centre of Hay on Wye.
I stayed there last Sunday for one night. What a lovely site it is, I needed peace and quiet and it was just what the doctor ordered. I enjoyed a stroll through Hay on Wye which is within walking distance and had a lovely chat with the lady owners father. I liked the way it is landscaped with the long grass decorating the field.
It's easy to find following the instructions given.
I will definitely come back hopefully for longer.
Booked for one night and ended up staying for two.
Easy to find and a very peaceful rural location within 5 mins of walking into Hay.
Met the owner Lynda who was lovely, very accommodating and knowegable about the local area.
We are self sufficient in our van, so didn't need hook up or shower facilities, so at £14 per ight it's definately good value for money with Elsan, water, bins on a very peaceful secure site. We will be back
