A Scottish Gem

Brilliant peaceful site, Grant & Gillian are good hosts & helped with our queries(re vets) the pitches are large enough for van & awning, some with car in front of van but still doesn't distract from views.. We will return to this site again. Toilets & showers clean & well kept.

Lovely Site

Just left this CL after a 3-night (long weekend) stay. Very warm welcome from Grant & Gillian on arrival, who showed us to our pitch (all are hard standing) & handed us our ‘welcome pack’ which is full of useful info. The owners couldn’t do enough for us, & we’re especially grateful to them after we had been let down by a car hire company & then a local taxi firm. Site is on a bit of a hill, but all pitches (as far as we could tell) were fairly level side to side but a couple do slope back to front so wooden blocks may be required, but only to support the corner steadies at one end. There is water & electric hook-up on each pitch with Wi-Fi at £1/day. Did find that the hard standings were a bit narrow so you couldn’t get a car/van/awning side by side – big enough for van/awning with the car across the front. Found the small toilet block (one ladies plus another “unisex” toilet & also a single shower) spotless. All in all, a very well kept site. Will be coming back for a one-night stay in July on our way to the ‘Far North’! Did note that my Caravan Club Sat Nav brought us in from the opposite direction to the CC Book.

Carrs Hill

Just back from a 3 night stay, our first venture to a CL and we were not disappointed. Friendly owners, quiet location, clean toilets and shower room. Plenty to visit in a 20 minute drive, we visited The Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel and Plean Country Park just a mile down the road

wee gem

We stayed here for a week and really chilled out here.We were met by Grant who gave us a welcome pack and said we could pitch anywhere. It is a lovely site, very well laid out,all the pitches are hard standing with their own water tap. There are two toilets on site, one only for women which my wife particularly liked the other is for male or female and also a shower (the use of which is included in the pitch fee).It is so peaceful and quiet, no traffic or road noise which aided a good night's  sleep. It is in a good location to access many towns roundabout and quickly too.The Falkirk Wheel is really interesting but the highlight of our stay was the trip to the Kelpies which is a stunning example of modern engineering. I would recommend  Carrs Hill to anyone,Grant and Gillian have created a Caravan Club site in miniature  form, we left feeling totally relaxed.

Great CL

This site is very well kept. We had 14 night there last year and voted for it as the best CL of the year. The pitches are hard standing with water/electric hook up. Very nice owners nothing is to much trouble for them. Near to lots of areas worth seeing. The only down side is the narrow lane to the site entrance care is needed but only for a short distance. Brill will be back.

Superb for our needs

We really appreciated the gravel pitches after being bogged down on grass the night before elsewhere.  The thought behind the layout gives each pitch its own space and view which we liked.  The welcome pack included everything we needed and it great to be able to have wifi too. It was very peaceful and the dog loved sitting watching the local wildlife.

A real find

Look on this site as a CL with the comforts of home!  Great use of a sloping site to give good views over neighbours, but pitches are almost perfectly level.  Toilets, a shower and an information room make the site more like a full site, but with all the charm of a CL.  The wood across the road is a great spot for morning and evening dog walks, and Plean Country Park (1 mile) is doggy heaven!  Very close to Stirling and Jn 9 of the M9, so good access to a huge range of country and city pursuits.  Lots of horses and livery in the area if you enjoy riding.  Mr Turnbull was friendly and helpful.  There are quite a few electricity pylons around because of a local sub-station, but the countryside is lovely round the site.  We plan to return.
