Great CL

We stayed at this CL as we wanted to visit the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, it is ideally situated as both are only a short drive away. On arrival a welcome pack is awaiting, the toilets and showers are excellent, the access road is narrow but plenty of passing places if we pass this way again we would certainly return.

One of the best CL's we have stayed on

We do not normally leave reviews when there have been lots already but after reading the negative ones we felt we should comment. We have caravanned for 8 years, mainly Cl's and we wish they were all as good as this one. It is well laid out, lovely views, tidy, clean and the toilets and shower are a real bonus. Not many Cl's provide this and a brand new washing machine. We cannot understand the poor comments, we do not see how anyone could be disappointed.

A Well Kept CL With Friendly Welcome

We stayed at Carr's Hill CL for a week in May 2016.  We were given warm and friendly welcome from Greg.  I have seen the negative comments about this site and wonder what some people expect from a CL.  This was clean tidy and well maintained.  The information hut was full of local guides and there was a washing machine with an honesty box (a real bonus as we were in the middle of an eight week tour).  The showers and toilets were clean.  Each pitch has its own tap and there was plenty of space to erect an awning.  There is great access to dog walks in local woods and there are many attractions, the Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies and Stirling to name a few.  We are keen walkers and the Ochils were stunning.  We blog our walks at www.twodogsandanawning.co.uk

One to tell everyone about

This was our first visit to a CL site and if we can find similar ones off this quality we will be using more CL's in the future. The pitch's are of a good size albeit a little adjusting to get the van level, bonus of having drinking water on the pitch. Toilets and shower cleaned every day, having fresh towels and liquid soap available. A very peaceful location and not too far for road links around the area. Information Room on site with bird seed to replenish the many feeders around. Tv and radio reception good with bonus of wi fi @ £1.00 a night. If we are to venture to Scotland again this will be the first booking we will make. Well done to the owners for their attention to detail.

One of The Best

How anyone could knock this site, I don't know. Plenty of space on each pitch, they even had their own water tap. The owners couldn't have been more helpful.  This was our grandson's first big trip away with us and he really enjoyed it.  The shower was perfect, and free, no meter.Clean hand towels in the w.c. every day.  We shall return and highly recommend it.

Excellent Site. A real Gem

First may I endorse the previous commenter, I also totally disagree with the two negative reports given by Chris and Dodo. This is a real gem if you want a quiet and picturesque site within easy reach of Stirling and lots of other interesting places. The site is accessed down B roads with plenty of passing points. Their web site clearly states there is another small site attached therefore we made our choice knowing this. Hence the number of pitches. It has16 amp electric and water taps on each pitch. I tow a 5th wheel (8 metres long plus truck) which has 3 slides that come out making it approx 5 metres wide. We had a pitch which was very wide and easy to reverse into. It had a small babbling brook along site with the banks full of bluebells. Behind the pitch was a small hill (old roman fort) with good views of the surrounding countryside, deer in the fields below and a badger set in the side of the hill. There is a small hut which is full of information leaflets, and has bird seed box which you can freely use to fill the bird feeders on the pitches. There is also a washing machine, in thre if you need to wash clothes. The toilet block is in a terraced area and has one ladies, one gents and a shower. All were spotless and we had no problems gaining access during our stay. The chemical disposal is a toilet in an enclosed area with wooden panelling surrounding it. The family owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. We will be visiting this location again, in the future and would not hesitate recommending it to club members. We stayed for 4 nights and would have stayed longer if not already committed to other family activity.

Perfect little site

We stayed here in May for 7 nights and completely disagree with the last two reviews. The owners were very friendly but unobtrusive. The site is a haven of peace and tranquility with only birdsong to hear. The owners even provide feed for the birds so you can refill the feeders around the site. The shower and toilets were perfectly adequate and clean. Always a fresh towel each morning. This is after all a C L. Their web site clearly states there is another small site attached therefore we made our choice knowing this. We spent every day cycling around the area visiting the Falkirk Wheel, the Kelpies and exploring the cycle routes along side the canals. Will definitely return.

Twelve Van CL

This site is not a 5 van CL. The site has a total of 11 pitches and when we visited a motor home was sited alongside the house making the total 12. All these units were using the cold damp single shower and toilet building. The 20p for 10 minutes heater was totally inadequate. Also our sloping hardstanding pitch was not wide enough to erect our awning. Very disappointed, this site falls well below the standards expected on an award winning CL.

Disappointing

A quiet site in beautiful countryside. The toilets and shower were sited in a cold shed and were not of the cleanliness standard I would expect. It has a number of other pitches which use the same facilities. The most expensive CL I have ever used but not worth the price.

Excellent Site

Even though this is a CL site (5 pitches) it also has an additional 4 pitches, these extra four pitches are really large, level with water and power. Beautiful site, peaceful and quiet yet centrally located for all attractions. The site is very well kept, it also has the benefit of a toilet block with shower and heating. You cannot ask for more from a CL site. The owners are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Would certainly visit again.
