Excellent Site

Visited Carr's Hill for the first time in May and what an amazing site and wonderful owner. Received welcome package which was much appreciated. The site was immaculate with everything available for anyone in caravan or motor home. Peaceful and quiet with two dog walks available one on site and one at end of lane way. Loved this place so much we stopped by on our way back to ferry for further two nights. Couldn't fault Carr's Hill just perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

A lovely site

There was a welcome pack when we arrived, you choose your pitch we had no 5 which needed ramps but that was ok, we were near the toilet block and there is a tap on every pitch. There are 10 pitches in total but it was quiet with only a few vans there at the time we were there. We took our car as we live fairly local so we went to the Falkirk wheel. Normally we choose sites with a bus near by or be able to walk into towns and villages. If you are in a motorhome bare that in mind that there is nothing local. But if you want a quiet weekend or like walking it is ideal. Access to the site is good and the pitches are nicely set out with space between. There is a shower which we didn't use so cant comment and 2 toilets all very clean with a clean towel in there. Overall a lovely site and would definatly go back.

One of the best!

We visited this site at the beginning of October with our three dogs. Easy to find, facilities excellent, layout very well thought out, convenient dog walk at the end of the lane, plenty of space between pitches and hard standing ideal. Spoilt for choice for things to do in the area. We had picked it specifically to come down from the Highlands for a few days to see The Kelpies but also managed to squeeze in Callendar Park, The Falkirk Wheel and Bannockburn Visitor Centre all of which are well worth visiting. Plenty more to do in the area such as Blackness Castle, Linlithgow Palace, Falkirk Palace etc. so we will certainly be coming back and staying here. The owners ask you to fill in a form with any suggestions you may have for improving the site - we were stumped as it is perfect unless they are able to influence the weather! Go there, you'll love it.

If Carlsberg Did CL's .......

I stayed here in August. A CL deserving the many accolades awarded over the years. Well laid out and a great central position in that part of Scotland. We chose the CL for it's proximity to 'The Wheel' and the Kelpies. I was given a pitch on the lower part of the CL, the 'commercial' part of the site, which turned out better for our family. Pitches there were more spacious, private, and easier to access on arrival, as the CL proper seemed to involve reversing your unit up a slope onto the pitch. Yards from the excellent information/washing machine shed. Oppsite the pitch was a fern-covered hill, and a play house, perfect for our little ones to explore. Craig seems to have thought of everything. We were three adults and two children and do not make use of loos and showers on sites, so I considered the £25 a night fee (including the wi-fi charge) excessive. Regarding the facilities, on having a 'nosey', as you do, they were spotless. The only downer on our pitch was the difficulty dragging the waste tank over the chippings, then up a steep grass bank to the disposal point, which, again, was spotless. Generally the whole site would be difficult for persons with impaired mobility. I'd use Carr's Hill again both as an overnight stop, being adjacent to several motorways, and a longer stay.

We'll be back

Knew we were onto a winner when we were driving down to our pitch and saw two roe deer grazing in the field next door. A lovely peaceful and well maintained site and the facilities are very clean The information hut was a great source of information about local sites and the welcome envelope you get on arrival is a brilliant idea. With the added bonus of a water supply to each pitch, this is one of our favourite sites and we will definitely be back as there is so much to see and do in the area. One thing we would do differently next time - book a massage in the treatment room! Never come across that before on a CL site :-) Although we didn't get to meet Grant and Gillian, they were very helpful with our booking, even though they were on holiday in Lanzarote at the time. Hope to meet you next time. Terry & Lucinda

VISITING THE KELPIES

We usually stay at mainstream Club sites but found Carr's Hill to be in a great location for our planned visit to The Kelpies (they are marvellous!) and the Falkirk Wheel. We realise now that there's lots more to see in that area - Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and more so definitely a good base. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with the booking and we were very happy with the site for it's position, cleanliness and the treat of a tap on the pitch! Everything you need is provided in an envelope on arrival so a very easy start. It was also useful to have the WiFi on site - thank you! I would recommend without hesitation.

Nice

Nice larger than usual CL, Water on pitch which was a new and nice experience. Chemical disposal is right near the Toilet block which if your on the lower pitches is a long walk and climb especially if you have problems with dodgy joints. Owners do say if you need assistance then ask. Washing machine available in info hut, all facilities were clean. Ideal site for going to Falkirk wheel and kelpies.

Somewhere to stay

We were touring Scotland during August and we needed a stop off point between Berwick and Nairn. This seemed like an ideal spot and it was. Facilities are great and very clean. The information hut tells you everything you need to know and the welcome Pack fills in all the information about the site and where you are pitched if there is no one to greet you. For the 3 nights we were there we had terrific weather and has a base for this part of Scotland you cannot ask for better. We will now always consider this site when traveling north through Scotland.

Superb Value CL

We stayed here for two nights on our way up north. Aug 15th and 16th. As stated in other reviews, a great site. This CL has everything you get at Club site but much cheaper. Water tap on each level hard standing pitch. Toilets and Shower inc in fee and use of a washing machine for £3. All this for £16 a night in Aug 2017. Easy to get to from the motorway and easy to get to the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel amongst many other attractions. Certainly an excellent CL. 5*.

An excellent site- one of the best.

We spent a great week here in July. The site was quiet and well maintained but near lots of places of interest that we were able to explore. Plenty of space for the children to run around as well.Toilet block was always clean and well maintained. The wifi was also very useful and the little extra we paid for it was worth it. We will definitely be returning. One word of advice- the ground was very hard for awning pegs, we had to buy extra strong ones to keep the awning up!
